Must Watch: Fantastic New Trailer for The International

The International

Sony recently released an international trailer for The International starring Clive Owen and Naomi Watts. I know what you're thinking, that the first trailer was terrible, and this one won't change your mind. You're wrong. I had a good feeling that director Tom Tykwer had something hidden up his sleeves. It just didn't become clear until someone at Sony actually cut a good trailer. No scenes from Ghost Rider, no cheesy graphics, just a real glimpse at what The International is all about. I'm amazed how much of a difference one trailer can make, but that's how it goes in Hollywood. So do yourself a big favor and watch this!

The International is directed by German filmmaker Tom Tykwer, of Run, Lola, Run and Perfume: The Story of a Murderer previously. The original script was penned by first-time screenwriter Eric Singer. Sony Pictures is releasing The International in theaters everywhere on February 13th, 2009.

If I'm remembering right, I thought this looked good when I saw the first trailer. Still looks good. Clive rocks.

I'm already there because of Clive Owen. Hell I was there before I knew about the movie 😛

This is a much better trailer. It is a different choice of music. The action scenes seemed tight. Just enough of the story where you can't piece it all together...definitely a VERY solid trailer.

Eh, it's better but I'm not completely sold. Although I do agree with most everyone else that Clive Owen is what is keeping me interested in this film. We'll see.

Actually I liked the first trailer better but I'm game anyway. But February 12th is still so far away.... :/

Clive Owen rocks but there's something wrong with the whole movie. Not getting the feel.

I don't find a faceless international bank to be a terribly compelling movie villain, to be honest.

It doesn't look too good to me [or original] but I'm a big Clive Owen fan and he's always great in this type of role so I'll be seeing it.

Tom Tykwer is an auteur. He doesn't just direct films. He creates everything, every last detail. His work has multiple layers. Therefore his vision, his filming attitude and style cannot be depicted in a trailer. That applies to every trailer of the films he has made so far. The impression you have over this new trailer is good, i like it a lot too...but it's not even close to the real thing.

the plot looks familiar, but i love Clive Owen in almost anything. he should've been the next Bond (though i love Daniel Craig as Bond) and this shows how great he looks in action. And they filmed some scenes in Istanbul? it looks cool
