First Full Trailer for Darnell Martin's Cadillac Records

Sex had a sound? Danger had a rhythm? I'm asking these questions because I'm not sure if I believe them. The full trailer for Sony's Cadillac Records has finally debuted and it doesn't seem that impressive. It actually looks kind of fun, in a comedic sense, and has one hell of a cast - Beyoncé Knowles, Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright, Gabrielle Union, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Mos Def, and so many more. I'll definitely give it a shot but I'm not expecting to walk out amazed. It definitely seems entertaining but not as everlasting as some of the other recent music history exposés like Dreamgirls and Talk To Me.

The film chronicles the rise of Chess Records and its recording artists, including Muddy Waters, Leonard Chess, Little Walter, Howlin' Wolf, Etta James and Chuck Berry. Sony is debuting Cadillac Records in theaters on December 5th.

Not a first time director. She did a feature (I Like It Like That) before the TV.

I liked it! Looks entertaining. Typical musical, drama flick. Not sure how true to life the story will be. I loved movies about really life events that happened. I wish they would do a biopic on Etta James, love her music!

Looks like it has good potential, but even though the trailer was cut good, I feel like something was missing to say that it was an Oscar contender.

Meh. I don't see anything special here really but as a musician I'm honor bound to go and see it, lo.

Finally a movie that might tell it like it was with Chess records I might suggest reading a book called Spinning blues into Gold before seeing this movie Nadine Cohodas wrote this important historical story on the Chess family and it will give you insight into the was musicians were treated back then
