Unexciting New Trailer for John Madden's Killshot

The Weinstein Company debuted another new trailer for Killshot just last night, but unfortunately it's not going to make much of a difference. Killshot is another one of those movies that has been delayed for years. It was originally supposed to be in theaters in 2006, but then The Weinstein Company started delaying and the next we know, it was 2008 and they still hadn't released it. It's now slated to hit a few theaters on January 23rd before being pushed to DVD within a few months. And unfortunately this trailer doesn't make it look that great, despite the appearances of Mickey Rourke, Thomas Jane and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Watch the second new trailer for Killshot:
Beautiful Carmen Colson (Diane Lane) and her ironworker husband Wayne (Thomas Jane) are placed in the Federal Witness Protection program after witnessing an extortion scheme go wrong. Thinking they are at last safe, they are targeted by an experienced intimidating hit man and a psychopathic young upstart killer. The ensuing struggle will test Carmen to the limit.
Killshot is directed by Oscar nominated English filmmaker John Madden, of Ethan Frome, Shakespeare in Love, and Proof previously. The screenplay was written by Hossein Amini, of The Four Feathers previously, and is based on Elmore Leonard's best-selling novel of the same name. The Weinstein Company is finally bringing Killshot to limited theaters on January 23rd. It will probably be on DVD soon thereafter.

I'd see it just because I like Joseph Gordon-Levitt's acting. Looks interesting enough though.

Surprised so few have heard of this before, I guess not everyone looks at the release schedules like myself. I'm not impressed by either trailer but in John Madden I trust.

Diane Lane is in this and has quit showbusiness over the delays and studio politics regarding this movie. Elmore Leonard himself rates it. Also, Johnny Knoxville was in it. All his scenes were later cut and reshot with another actor. Diane Lane and Mickey Rourke are supposed to be very VERY good in it.

I just finished reading the book. The book is phenomenal and has me pumped for this movie. For anyone who has read the book the ending is the only disappointing part. Not that it wasn't good, it was just rushed and after reading 400+ pages you would rather read a few more. I must say the book isn't anything new, a standard crime thriller, but it is still not bad at all.

#9 Same here Dan. Although it's chances for a theatrical release seem slim, I've already saved it in my Netflix queue!

The trailer seemed decent if a bit slow. Overall it looks good. And I expect I'll end up seeing it in theaters.

Superb book, so I'm definitely in on this one! Sounds like another case of Weinstein politics ruining the chances of a good movie?

Doesn't look bad at all. I might go see it if they actually release it this time. Since one of the stars just won a Best Actor award, tho, I'm guessing they'll actually release it this time.

Ehh low budget with big names is all. Straight to DVD it should go.

I dunno, doesn't look bad. Just doesn't look like anything worth going to the theaters for.

The trailer looks pretty damn exciting to me. Great cast too. So, count me in. And Joseph Gordon-Levitt just keeps getting better with age.

Part of this movie was shot in my home town of Cape Girardeau, so I would love to see it. Unfortunately its not getting a general release and that sucks...whole town wants to see this one.

After watching the movie all i can say is that it's one of the best thrillers released in the past years. Great performances from both D.Lane, M.Rourke, J.G.Levitt and T.Jane give an pure example of how a great movie can be done without the use of milion $ costing special FX.
