Aggies one win away from WCWS
The Texas A&M softball team is one win away from its second straight trip to the Women's College World Series.
A&M got 10 strike outs from pitcher Megan Gibson and two home runs from Clements product Holly Ridley on its way to a 6-1 victory over Stanford in Game 1 of an NCAA super regional.
Gibson, now 37-1, tries to pitch the Aggies back to the WCWS when the teams play Game 2 of the best-of-three series Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Game 3, if necessary, will follow.
The Aggies are 53-7, while Stanford falls to 49-14.
