Tata Teleservices Friday got the radio frequencies or spectrum required to roll out its operations in the three areas of northeast, Jammu and Kashmir and Assam, making it a pan-India operator.

'Tata Teleservices has received a start-up spectrum of 2.5 MHz for rolling out its network in the northeast, Jammu and Kashmir and Assam,' said a company spokesperson.

The Mumbai-based operator, which offers services under CDMA technology, is also awaiting the grant of frequencies to start the more dominant GSM operations.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) Thursday started giving out spectrum to operators. The first one to receive the spectrum was Shyam-Sistema.
