IntelliScreen Is Growl For The iPhone

in

Intelliborn has released a beta version of IntelliScreen, their native notification software for the iPhone. Intellascreen takes the information from native applications and places them on the iPhone's locked screen, letting you quickly find out what's going on on your iPhone, like Growl for desktop machines. It displays all of the info right on your "Slide To Unlock" screen for fast access.

IntelliScreen lets you check the weather, new email and SMS messages, and several news feeds. Features include:

  • View Calendar, Email, Text Messages, News, Sports, and Weather from your iPhone "Slide To Unlock" screen
  • Smooth scrolling across each item to quickly glimpse at your data
  • Auto-Checks Email when you view the unlock screen - no need to "Refresh" from Mail.app or wait 15 minutes
  • Go directly to the application of your choice with a "Swipe"
  • Precise International Weather (by Zip) provided by Weather Underground.com
  • News Feeds include Yahoo!, CNN, Fox News, and Reuters (more coming soon!)
  • ESPN Sports Feeds include MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, NCAA Men's Football and NCAA Women's Basketball
  • Customizing your IntelliScreen is easy! Choose which content you want to view and where
  • Mail and Text Messages can be shown only if new items are available

To install the software, add http://intelliborn.com/repo as a source in Installer.app. The app will show up in the Intelliborn category. (Don't as me why Intelliborn needs it's own category. I have no idea.) Please keep in mind that this is beta software, so install it at your own risk.

I love the idea of this, so i went and installed it. after it told me to restart my iphone, all it did was continuously restart the phone. So i had to do a Restore.

Thanks for the heads-up. Sorry you had problems with the app. Hopefully they can get it working correctly soon. It's a great concept and I'm really looking forward to using it.

We'll keep you posted if we get more info.

i like the concept of this, but i am a person that prefers a less, 'cluttered' environment. I'm sure this is a popular item though!

The same thing happend to me. After installing it, my phone got stuck and the only solution was to restore it. It's a shame, since the app. seems to be very interesting. It's definetly not working properly, so I guess we'll have to wait until they fix whatever is causing the problem.
