Everex Cloudbook to hit Japan with touch screen

You can hardly find an Everex Cloudbook anywhere but word is leaking out that a model will soon be hitting Japan with a 7-inch touch screen.  This new model gained Bluetooth and 802.11a which along with the touch screen bumped the price up to the equivalent of $600 over the US price of $399 for the original model.  All of the other specs remain the same including the Via processor and 30 GB hard drive.

As with JKKs modded EEE: Why?

The screen doesn't rotate, so why bother?

I'm as much in favor of touchscreens as the next guy, but I don't see why adding one to a standard notebook is worth the cost. You have to hold the back of the screen to avoid knocking the thing backward AND to ensure your touch registers. And, primarily, you can't use it in a car very easily with one hand, if at all.
