LA VISTA, Neb. (AP) _ A four-term La Vista city councilman who's running for county office could face charges of drunken driving. Robert McLaughlin was arrested Friday evening on suspicion of driving under the influence and having fictitious plates. La Vista police say a chemical test showed McLaughlin's blood-alcohol level was over the legal limit. McLaughlin was first elected to the City Council in 1992. His current term expires at the end of the year. The Democrat is running for Sarpy County commissioner in District 4. He has no opponent in Tuesday's primary and will likely face Republican Patrick Thomas in November. A phone number for McLaughlin was unlisted.
