Anderlecht winger Mbark Boussoufa seems to have welcomed speculation linking him with a move to Newcastle United.
Mbrak Boussoufa – flattered by Newcastle’s interest
There has been news this week that Mbark’s Belgian club, Anderlecht are keen to keep him and their sponsors KIA Motors of South Korea, have even offered to help with his wages to keep him at the club.
However, today Mbark says he flattered by Newcastle’s interest in him:
“I’m flattered by Newcastle’s interest. It is always nice to know clubs are watching me.” “I spent two years with Chelsea, so I know what English football is all about. I learned a lot from their players, especially Gianfranco Zola.”
“I was on the point of breaking into their first team when Roman Abramovich arrived. He signed seven star players, and the youngsters were not given their chance.”
“I would not say no to a good offer from England. If Newcastle want me they must first speak to my club – and then I’ll gladly listen to what they have to say.”
Reports are that Newcastle want an answer to their bid for Mbark by the end of this week. We don ‘t know if that’s true but by Boussoufa’s own words he seems quite interested.
In fact saying you are flattered is a come-on to Newcastle, so it may be the chances are high that if Kevin really wants Mbark, he would come to Newcastle.
What do you think?
Comments and opinions welcome.

By the looks of it he is a Good Player.
And ONLY 23. So thats good.
5m Sounds Fair.
He is left sided player i think, so replacement for N’Zogbia Maybe????
Then we can sell N’Zogbia and get a Right Winger Like Aaran Lennon OR Shaun Wright Phillips
A direct running winger.
THAT WOULD BE GOOD TO WATCH!!!!

Comment #3i agree it would be good to watch two pacey wingers but on the negative side i think reverting back to 4-4-2 would spell the end for oba martins. he’d bench warm for a season then leave and to me thatd be a tragedy

Comment #4i know him. he’s a very quick agile technician.can play in every attacking position, midfield as well as a forward(although he is better on the wing)uses both feet perfectly. i think he’s a future star but the only thing that’s concerning me is that he’s maybe a bit too light for the prem league

Comment #5not necessarily the end for oba, we could keep this formation and instead of geremi and barton we could hav some wingers flanking our strikers and leave but as holding midfielder

Comment #7This guy is decent, but nothing to shout about, there are better wingers out there and personally i feel this guy should only be cover for our main left winger.

Comment #8Most people dont realise that if we get rid of Emre and get Boussoufa we are actually giving away the better player regardless of age. If only Emre wasnt so flipping injury prone he would be great for us. oh well.

and dont kid yourselves thinking otherwise ,
one is young , has bags of potential , skillfull , quick and a great left foot .
the others always in the medical room .
mbark is nowhere near the finished article tho , but the couple of times ive seen him play he’s stood out as having great control and being quick .
has emre ever delivered in a toon shirt ?
for the time he’s been here , i really cant rate him as a top class player like his fellow countrymen like too .

Comment #13Boussoufa doesnt even have the potential to be better than Emre, let alone already be better than him, people on here need to watch this guy more and stop assuming he is a top player, he aint, hes decent, thats all
in fact, if this guy was 2 or 3 years older i would be 100% against us signing him

Comment #15Tom Toon, what is your view on Boussoufa?
To me he is just another ‘giles barnes’ style signing, could be good if you can get him on a cheap, but no one is going to lose seep if we miss out on him.

Comment #16Tom Toon – agree with you on emmaulson – spelling. He is class and can actually play left back or winger equally as well.
and sell Nzogbia – would rather keep him however and add emmaulson to the list. Then that would be three top young left siders.
just need that for the right. I have never rated milner, before i start getting abuse for jumping on the bandwagon, but would like a bentley or another quality promising winger maybe like this boussaifa but would prefer Mcgready – no language barrier

Comment #17Admittedly not seen a great deal of him a few uefa cup/cl games and he didnt really set the world alight but i recon he is worth a punt at 5 mil, id have him over Giles Barnes any day of the week.

Comment #18NUFCFAN i am not the biggest Milner fan, but trust me, he is better than Boussoufa and has more potential than him aswell.
McGeady is class though, and so is Emmanuelson, I dont think we would get Emmanuelson though

what the hell has emre done ? bugger all as far as im concerned .
ive followed him since his inter days (second fav team) , and cant credit him with anything other than overhype .
mbark has just as good control , and is far far quicker ,
for a left sided midfield player emre’s slow as sin , and those goals he always gets from outside the box are flukes imo .
he hasnt been able to pick a defence splitting pass out all season .
and mbarks and milners final ball seems worlds apart to me , how many crosses you seen milner land? when you take into account how many he puts in the box .

Comment #20to be honest since looking at boufoussa on you tube he looks a little small to me as well – Sagna would eat him let alone the bottom clubs defnders who would sneeze and knock him over.
thing is what other right wingers are there? Bentley, i can imagine him signing for other clubs. Pennant is rubbish. Struggle with much else.
Agree with you with milner thing he will be a decent squad player for a long time, and think that he would stay loyal too, but not a great winger. cant imagine him scaring full backs when they see his name on the team sheet

Comment #22Hadrian your comments about Emre seem unfair and i too saw him at Inter, he was a good player there. To say his long range shots are flukes is just silly and he is hardly slow. Also, Emre is hardly an out and out winger.
well i have seen a lot of Boussoufa since he plays for the same team that my favourite young CM plays for, and to tell the truth, he has never stood out to me and just seems like good back up, thats all.

Comment #23NUFCFAN, i agree with you about milner on the wing, i personally feel he could be great as an AM rather than a winger and have said it many times. He is not fast and is not a great crosser, but he can shoot with both feet, can can pass and move very well, is not weak and has a little bit of skill. His qualities are more suited to being a central player dont you think.

Comment #24not denying that Tom Toon, but being foreign small and a winger – cant think of many that have done that well – Zola who was class and i know that boussafa trained from him but still. on the other hand 5 mill isnt much to gamble with, not really fussed just not convinced that he is going to set the prem alight

but check out his final ball and control

Comment #26i would agree with the milner thing – but emre is better at that type of stuff than milner – has quicker feet – however milner has the strength on him.
Again just another position that needs filling by another player more youth, dutch and portugese who are phenominal at keeping the ball and passing – which is why Veluso and Moutinho are exciting targets but yet again – i think quite unrealistic

Comment #27And trust me NUFCFAN he probably wont, i dont mind if we get him for fairly cheap as there is always a chance he could be great and he would be at least a decent winger, but some of the hype about him on here is unreal. There are better wingers out there

Comment #31veloso will be on manu’s books before long .
but the big teams cant afford all the talent out there ,
i defo thinks its worth a punt on the likes of diego , modrik and VdV .
sven seems to agree with me aswell , and we can pay better wages than them lot and sustain it .

Comment #37we have the upper hand over both spurs (wage structure) and man city (cant fill their stadium all year round)
but i agree , its the leftovers we are going tobe getting .
cant see manu going daft unless they get some champ lge money off winning it .
chelsea are gonna spend like mad.
arseanl may spend this season , but wenger will be cautious about it .
and god knows whats gonna happen in liverpool , cant see loads of fund being released in the current climate .
so yeah i think were gonna have a pick of some decent players even after the big teams are done .

Comment #38i don’t know what to say……i’ve seen him a couple of times, he’s tricky and fast and has a good delivery, he also like to dive so he’ll fit right in the EPL….but he’s is very fragile…… dunno.. guess i wouldn’t mind taking a gamble for 5 mil.

Comment #40i dont care if i get stick for this but one player we need to keep is geremi. he plays some of the slowest football on the planet but we have 38 points currently. 35 (10 wins and 5 draws) of them when geremi has been playing which suggest the team play better when he is in it.
