   I think she total decerves this,People have always got something bad to say to about Mariah, She is lets face it a megastar she clawed her way back to the top without huge publicity stunts but from pure talent TEOM was a brilliant album and so is E=MC2.

   She has sold over 180 million albums and has has 18 U.S number 1# and the list goes on and on.

   And all this crap about her not being deserving of her chart success WHAT arwe u crazy everyone is going on about how you cant compare Elvis to Mariah and yes probley because they are 2 different artists from 2 different era’s and everyone saying oh but he wrote his songs and it was harder to get to number 1 back then……uh AND can i point out mariah writes almost all of her songs and has written 17 or her 18 number ones and she has achieved these from 11 studio albums….it took Elvis to release hundreds of songs and albums to get 17 number 1# but dont get me wrong i am in no way undermining Elvis and his achievments he was a megastar and is a legend and invented a new era of music and to achieve all those number ones back then is a hung feat but i think disregarding Mariah as deserving of these awards or events is selfish and buyest in this day and age of digital downloads and myspace etc mariah is still top of her game. Mariah has to compete with thousands of more artists within her country and globally more than Elvis had to and the demands of staying on top are so much greater nowadays.

   Lets Just stop living in the past and give credit where it is due.

   Mariah carey writes her own music. Anyone who understands what it takes to be a musician and the pure divinity of it would agree. There are people who mistake mariahs persona with her talent and that is a travesty. I think she deserves the acclaim of an artist like the beatles. She is of mixed race background from long island. It wasn’t easy. I grew up there as well ina similar situation. She is an inspiration to the people who can’t help but sing. I love her and hope she gets thirty number ones. Also I wish naras would acknowledge her extreme talent. It makes no sense to me that there are vocal artists like “cah ray-z” on say who have twice as many…her style is fly the album has classic mariah melodies and being an avid carey listener I think its one of her best complete works.xxx

   It’s a great marketing stunt if:

   1. They gain media coverage worth more than the cost of doing it.

   2. The money they paid benefits the people of New York City (then it becomes useful not useless).
