Music & Design Community Part of Outpouring of Support for China Earthquake Relief

by Sean Leow (PSFK Shanghai)

Responding to the devastating earthquake in western China, organizations, companies and individuals have been organizing relief effort and donating money in record numbers. Part of this support is coming from China’s creative communities, who are using their artistic talents to raise money for earthquake relief efforts.

DBG is one of the leading independent design studios and is donating all of their online sales until the end of the month to earthquake relief funds. In Shanghai, more than 10 indie bands are putting on an impromptu benefit concert at Yuyintang and donating all ticket sales to the earthquake effort.

The reaction to the earthquake has been overwhelming among Chinese people and it’s encouraging to see creative communities play a small, yet positive role in gathering support.
