I suppose I should understand but I don't: why would any side want this man in their camp? Trying to be as open minded as possible, I still cannot imagine myself trusting this man on any level.

Try to imagine what the republicans would do to politician claiming to be a republican who spoke at the democratic party's convention.

Lieberman is conning both parties. He gets his chairmanships and committee seats from the Democrats, and he gets his press coverage from the Republicans. He really knows how to play people. And both sides fall for it. He has absolutely no political core. He's all about Joe.

LIEberman you are a girlie man, go to Iraq and fight.

Joe, an independent. In the same sense Bill O'Reilly is, I imagine. Just get on Mac's ticket and get it over with. The campaign is a joke anyway.

First of all he is not independent, and second of all he is not a Democrat. The end of the freakin story. Period.

A fitting end to the career of an obnoxious sellout.

Joe Lieberman is a patriot who has served his nation and his state with honor. The Democratic Party is lucky to have such men, and had fate been kinder he would have been serving as Vice President for the last 7.5 years.

Anybody here remember that song about "Johnny One Note"? This is ALL the Repubs and their Dem supporters. There is only ONE solution to any crisis. Iraq/Iran/Afghanistan? Escalation. NO TALKING to DESPOTS. BOMB 'EM to the STONE AGE. (This matches Cuba, Venezuela, and several Asian countries). Gasoline prices spiralling to dizzying heights? DRILL FOR MORE OIL! STRIP MINE for MORE COAL. Lack of decent quality healthcare? LET THE MARKET TAKE CARE OF IT! Tainted food? THROW OUT THE IMMIGRANTS WHO PICK THE TOMATOES and SPINACH and PEPPERS and any other crop we can think of. No WONDER the Obama message gets lost in this monchromatic litany. People need to PAY ATTENTION to the programs being proposed in every speech that Obama makes, but they've become 'tone deaf' and are all for the 'simple solutions'. Besides being 'Johnny One Notes', the Bush Admin. has tainted the vocabulary so that 'faith-based' has become suspect, as well as 'advisor' or 'bipartisanship'. I HOPE that EVERYONE in Obama's cabinet takes LOTS of disinfectant to D.C. with them-they will need to remove the absolute STENCH of corruption, lying, obfuscation, theft and cloak and daggerism. Lieberman is a "Johnny One Note" Democrat (MAYBE a Democrat). To think that he could have been Vice President sends a shiver down my spine.

Lieberman is on thin ice as it is. If he speaks at the Republican Convention, he will be finished as a politician. Even the wimp democrats can't countenance this act of treason. They will wait until the next election, and then he will lose his chairmanship. It will be a miracle if this guy gets reelected after the stunt he has pulled. His future is pretty murky. Maybe a Fox Talking Head?
