I can’t believe after this long I am the first one to post.
With that said, I have a two-part response. I like the vignetting-type effect going on and I like the figures (well executed and playful).
The second part is the name. I’m a bit confused (or maybe I am over-thinking this). Hey = Hay and Dear = Deer. I get that. But, one of those names is an object to eat, the other name is of the animal. Unless we draw it out farther and say that the horse eats the hay and we eat the deer. If that is so, then this piece just turned from being happy and cheerful to being a sick twist on reality.
i was actually wondering the same thing as michael, but wanted to wait till someone else commented first because i didnt want to offend or anything like that. it is interesting, i just didn’t know the exact intent of the piece
Have you ever taken an IQ test, and it had a word problem like: “_ is to _, as _ is to _”. What are those things called? Analogies? So the horse eats hay, and you eat the deer. But if you don’t eat deer, then the horse can just eat sugar cubes or something..
You’re not wrong and you wouldn’t have offended me.
Because it’s just like a joke that no one gets and when you try to explain it, it’s not even funny anymore. So if no one commented, I just ended up laughing at my own joke like an idiot.

Then again, are you guys trying to figure out the meaning because you know the type of stuff I draw? What if you’ve never met me or seen any of my other work, would you still dig this deep?

Is that what you meant?
Or am I over-thinking this still?
