Warner Bros and Lucasfilm have released two new posters for Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The first emulates the design of Struzan’s classic posters while using the new school computer animated stylized characters.
On the front lines of an intergalactic struggle between good and evil, fans young and old will join such favorite characters as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padmé Amidala, along with brand-new heroes like Anakin’s padawan learner, Ahsoka. Sinister villains – led by Palpatine, Count Dooku and General Grievous – are poised to rule the galaxy. Stakes are high, and the fate of the Star Wars universe rests in the hands of the daring Jedi Knights. Their exploits lead to the action-packed battles and astonishing new revelations that fill STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars will hit theaters on August 15th 2008.

Am I the only one who thinks this movie is going to suck really, really bad?
July 16th, 2008 at 4:24 am
Jon no your not, everyone auto assumes anything from Lucasfilm is going to suck these days.

man this movie is just another lame attempt from lucas at getting some cash, i personaly will only see this movie on a free download from the piratebay yes i said it and i will not participate in making lucas any richer.
also i dont even see why anyone would pay to look at this

Isn’t this essentially just an extended pilot episode of the upcoming TV series? There’s really no reason for this to even go to theaters that I can see, other than quick cash.
July 16th, 2008 at 6:48 am
Ehhhh….
Lucas has crossed to the dark side of the film-making force.
I’ll still go see it… it’s Star Wars, I have to. No matter how bad it is.
July 16th, 2008 at 7:12 am
it should just be straight to DVD.. don’t ruin the star wars franchise.. the animation even looks horrible.. assholes
July 16th, 2008 at 8:23 am
razor, Joe: this will actually cost them MORE money, to theatrically release it, than it would to just air an extended pilot or make it straight-to-DVD. The “money grab” argument holds no water.
I really like the first poster although I am confused as to why there’s no sign of Dooku, Ventress, Sidious, Jabba, or droids of any kind. It’s all heroes. That must mean we’ll be getting a villains poster or two, soon, too.

Get ready to be suprised everyone….

Ye gods, that CGI is hideous!
July 16th, 2008 at 9:39 am
This crap looks terrible. Why is this not DTV!?
July 16th, 2008 at 10:16 am
The sad thing is that I don’t care. I never thought I’d look at a new star wars movie and just shrug. This has about as much importance to me as a new star trek spinoff series at this point. *eyeroll*
July 16th, 2008 at 10:49 am
I care as much for you fans and what you think as a festering bowl of dog snot! If you combined the IQ’s of all of you it might be enough to tie a shoelace if you didn’t drool all over yourselves first! But you will still give me your money! Ahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

Thanks for those warm words, mr lucas. Don’t mind giving you my 12 dollars to see your movies which took millions to produce and distribute. My gripe is paying 10 dollars for a bag of microwave popcorn at the theater.
Thieves!

I saw the previews before Hulk and the animation looks terrible.
Looks like a movie that didn’t need to be made.
Hope that people wise up and stay away but I know that won’t happen.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
It’s only fitting that the characters look as wooden and emotionless as the live actors (haw haw)
Seriously, are they meant to look like woodcut puppets??? I don’t understand the art style at all.
Thunderbirds Away!

you’re such a hater.
July 17th, 2008 at 10:09 am
Animation aside, how does this film (and the following series) differ from the already excellent, Emmy-winning, Star Wars Clone Wars animated series (directed by Genny Tartakovsky)? It better not re-tread already told stories but why not show us an adventure as a precursor to The New Hope (Darth Vader: The Early Years), or even after Return of the Jedi, or let’s follow what Han Solo did before he met Luke…

You are all haters. Please dont watch the film and stop the complaining. The clone wars is one of the most influential and unknown aspects of the star wars saga. Very few books and comics do it justice.
Nonkeyhouse and others who feel the same if you want to learn about Han pre New Hope, or what happened after ROTJ. Please learn to pick up books and read them.
This CGI clone war project will be alot better then thecartoon version which consisted of 10-20 2 min shorts.

@Beans. I’m not hating. I asked a question; what’s the difference between this Clone Wars and the previous animated series? And I just thought a MOVIE about another story would be good instead of reshaping something Lucasfilm/Arts has already done. I know there are books - LOADS of books set in the Star Wars universe. I don’t think they have anything to do with George Lucas though and what his idea’s are, but feel free to adapt it into an animation.

I agree that I am still not sure of why this section is being retread, I only hope that i enjoy it. I offered to work on this project, but I never heard back from them, too bad. As far as seeing other sections/chapters being translated into film, I would be fine with seeing any others being made, but if they do decide to do between episodes 5&6, I would appreciate a live action version. That being said, I am looking forward to the live action star wars tv show and would gladly like to work on that, if any involved parties would like to contact me, I would be much obliged

I think the moivies look very good! I will see it for my 35th birthday! We all have different opinions but lots of people want to see this movie! If you dont like it keep it to yourself. George Lucas has not gone to far by making this movie. I dont want to sound like the president but we all have our own opinions.
