Fantastic Foursome: X2 [Vol.20]

Because I've been so lazy over the past month(s) I've decided to double up on this volume of F4some:

I have no idea what it is that makes this track so appealing; The first time I heard it I didn't even enjoy it that much; but it kept coming up and after a second (or third) run-through I think it all just came together... the heavy heavy chopped guitar and finely diced (to the point of nonsensical) vocals just WORK: give it a go, it's fucking amazing:
Franz Ferdinand - The Fallen (Justice Edit)

I'm STILL young, so I remember being young pretty well; if only it was as good as this tune...
(just kidding - you all wish your youth was as good/recent as mine! Thanks Mum!)
I'm holding back on putting up the mp3 link as SYDNEYSOUNDER currently has an interview with Bikini in the process, so expect some seriously sexy stuff from this Canadian duo to appear VERY soon.
Bikini - I Remember Being Young

EDIT: Originally I had the following as a remix by B-More... but thankfully its rightful remixee fixed my error - cheers Bad Character
For some reason Justice has snuck into nearly 40% of the list, so I'd take that as a reflection of the duo's class and all-round amazingness... The Netherlands' Bad Character has certainly surpassed most other attempts to remix a seemingly unimprovable album...
Justice - Stress (Bad Character Remix)

I loved hearing this at 'We Love Sounds', I'm pretty sure it was played across the venue, inside and out, more than thrice to my ears throughout the day - and every time it was dropped in its organ-blazing-glory it got the same reaction: absolutely dancable chaos - every single ping-head present would go off their chops...
Crookers - Lollypop

This is one which has been floating around for a god month or so... It's such a relaxed remix and cuts in only the best of Shwayze's highly enjoyable lyrics: "...You Crazy? Nah, I'm Shwayze!"
Shwayze - Buzzin' (Feat. Wale) (DJ Skeet Skeet and Cory Nitta Remix)

Outlaws sent me this last week and in my attempts to finish assessments I rudely forgot to email them back with a very large fluorescent green tick of approval:... it's a mixtape with a little sideplot on the effects of ecstasy; quirkily entertaining and offering some great listening.
Outlaws - It's Not French, But It's Fucking 'Aving It... (feat. Bez Lennon)

OK, imagine that every time you walk past your sister's room, the dorms, your secretary's desk, or through the local shopping centre, etc etc, there is only ever one song playing... for 5 MONTHS!
A passionate hatred for not only the jingle itself, but for all those who play it without your express permission WILL EMERGE...
So imagine my confusion when, after half a year of having to put up with a never-ending session of Electric Feel (which I originally DID love), Justice releases a remix which I can't get enough of... They haven't even done that much to it - but it's a billion times more bearable!?!?
What's the secret?
MGMT - Electric Feel (Justice Remix)

And last but certainly not least, a gem from the young-gun of British musicality, LLRoche:
Heads We Dance - My Heart Is Set On You (Louis La Roché Remix)

RE: MGMT Justice remix...

The most obvious thing they did was get rid of that brilliantly catchy synth hook! And I don't know what they did to the vocals but it cuased the whole vibe of the song to go from late-70s Jagger ("Emotional Rescue", "Miss You") to something altogether more... well, heavy and French disco.

I still think the original of electric feel is better. Totally not into the higher pitched vocals. The Justice remix of the Klaxons is their most amazing remix work to date. My two cents for the blogosphere.

No, B-more did not make that Justice remix. I did. Bad Character from Milwaukee Wisconsin. Originally posted at http://board.low-bee.com

re - Justice edit of MGMT
very very average, just sounds like electric feel with typical justice synth sounds applied, nothing different or really that appealing, i am over the original electric feel but this doesn't really do it for me.
