Victory!!!

The Supreme Court tossed out a handgun ban in the nation’s capital on Thursday, holding for the first time that the Second Amendment does protect an individual right to self-defense and gun ownership.  Read Wayne LaPierre's column from the NRA website, below:

The DC Decision

It looks to be a phenomal day for gun owners and District of Columbia residents.  Our Founding Fathers wrote this as an individual right, they intended it to be an individual right, and the Court is now acknowledging that right. 

It's a historic day for us as gun owners and us as Americans.  As we read the decision we'll know muchmore about how Heller will impact gun owners around the nation.  The next step is to ensure that every American has access to this right, no matter where they live. This court decision, I believe, will help us get there.

Our founding fathers left Europe to get away from you, so how dare you try to tell us what to do in our own damn country!

Today, July 4th, we are celebrating our freedom from European tyranny. Our fighting men were just a bunch of uneducated farmers back then and we still defeated you. Only the very top American officers had much education.

You only wish you lived here. So do your countrymen and women. Just like everyone else in the world.

In a free society, like we have here in the US, one cannot expect to find police on every street corner. A citizen has to take responsibility to defend themselves and their families.

I am a mother of a young son and I keep my firearm locked up and out of his way when I am not carrying it. When I carry it, I have a permit to carry it concealed.

I have been attacked four times in my life. The police were not there for me any of those times. I hope you are so lucky not to find yourself in those circumstances.

I am trained and have passed all stringent government background checks. I am the one you WANT to have a gun in situations.

There must be no crime in your society! In that case, you don't need a gun. I assume you are some youngster who hasn't been around much and are sitting on a pile of liberal ideals. Why don't you visit Communist Vietnam or Red China and try to commit a crime there. The police will shoot you dead.

It is important for a political candidate to say his middle name. Don't fool people with mainstream media's description of his middle name as "Exotic, Funny". Let the people decide whether they are ready for anything. Don't try to criticize people for saying his middle name. Anything, you ask about obama, people are being branded in all kinds of name.

America is different from Europe. Don't try to install your values to America. By the way, in countries like Uk, crime increased after the ban of weapons. Liberalism is control of people by very few group of people in government. Depending on government is not the way, Americans do business. Also, why conservatives are on a rise in Europe? I mean look at France, UK(in the process), and Italy

Don't know why it's so important to some people to own a device that causes such destruction. What's wrong with calling the police in a dangerous situation like we do in europe? Firearms being widely available just means that the very people you are trying to 'defend' yourselves from are able to get hold of a gun alot easier. I love how right wing Americans feel that owning a device that can kill is a basic American right. Says alot about American foreign policy. Also whats this 'hussein' obama thing about?...because he has an islamic middle name he's an evil terrorist?.....thats insanely ridiculous. I wonder how many times you've actually needed a handgun......

This wise and landmark Supreme Court decision will lead to overturning handgun bans in other cities now. Shows how critical the selection of Supreme Court Justices is. The four liberal Justices are moronic and twisted enough to believe the Second Amendment does *not* guarantee individual gun rights. This time Anthony Kennedy was on the right side of the 5-4 decision. But he can just as easily vote with the liberal Justices, as when the Court recently threw out the death penalty for repeat child rapists. Just think of the damage a President Barack Hussein Obama could do, with the support of a Democrat-controlled Congress, in the area of judicial appointments.
