Apple's 3G iPhone Launch Date "Confirmed!" Or Something

/images/steve-jobs-200x150.jpg Apple (AAPL) boss Steve Jobs will trot out on stage in San Francisco on June 9 and unveil the next-gen, 3G iPhone, Gizmodo "confirms," via "someone very, very close to the 3G iPhone launch." The phone will be available "right after the launch," and not "at year's end, as previously though." (Not sure who thought that -- no one we've ever talked to.)

So, is this all true? Maybe, maybe not. But we're betting it is. Since March, when Jobs announced that the iPhone 2.0 software update would come in June, we've thought that would also be a perfect time to announce the next edition of the iPhone. And it still makes sense. See you in three weeks.

Look, you know that AT&T employees have a memo that says they can't get vacation time between June 15 and July 12, this is the same memo that AT&T employees got last year. Take a guess how I know... Look, we all know there is a one month window for a release date, so whoever feeds this bull to you, tell them to shut up and get you the real release date of 2.0 update, that is the more important part anyway...SI

IIRC, The AT&T company's new NOKIA is also slated for release on this timeframe.

Much as I would like to see this happen, I will believe it when I see it.

I don't think AT&T would be canceling vacations for the roll out of the new NOKIA phone.
