Manager Irwin Michael of the ABC Fundamental Value fund seeks out overlooked and out-of-favour names among Canadian and foreign equities, primarily in the United States.
His buy recommendations include SeaspanCorp. (SSW/ NYSE), which owns and leases out container ships to customers all around the world on long-term fixed-rate contracts. "The company is basically a cash flow cow, he says, adding he thinks the ships, at about $33 a share, are worth more than the stock price."
