Want to send a friend an audio file, but don't know if they've got an audio player that can handle your OGG files? You could point them to the appropriate player and codec combo, or you could just make the file an executable. Audio/Video to Exe is a utility that lets you turn pretty much any audio file into a standalone media player.
The player is probably the simplest you've ever seen. There are no controls for play/pause or fast forward/rewind. In fact there are no controls at all. If you want the file to stop playing, you just close the program. But the media you create should be playable on any PC.
You can also use the program to convert files from one format to another. It can handle a wide array of audio and video formats, including 3GP, AAC, FLAC, MP2/3/4, OGG, and WAV, and WMA, WMV, FLV, SWF, ASF, and MOV. Audio/Video to Exe is available as a free download. I would not open an executable audiofile. Doubt my Boss will let me, and certainly not at home. What about the rights level, public machines won't let you play this file.

I agree with the previous poster.
If I receive an unrequested exe in an email, I certainly will not execute it. Nor should anybody else! Especially if the email claims it to be an audio file.
Why not just send an MP3? Pretty much every user on the net has used those.

Hmm... Sure it's not made to send audio or video files via web, but I think that could be a great idea if I wanna put my Zep's fav songs into an usb and listen to it at job... I think that's a good idea, and I hope someone somday somehow can do similar apps just to open .doc, .dwg, .pdf files simply with an .exe one.

Have you (or Brad or anybody) found anything?... I mean a la Red Horse Vector (just mono the stereo from The Great Destroyer)...
Oh and about the exe files... hmmm nope, I don't like it.
I think that if you want to hear songs on your office from your USB you could do better by using something portable (there's a winamp and there's a VLC).
