So here’s my pro’s and cons of Rockband, and why I still enjoy Guitar Hero more.
PROS:
- The guitar is awesome, it doesn’t make as much noise as the regular Guitar controllers
- Good Multiplayer, a lot of fun in quickplay with all songs unlocked (UI a little confusing at first though)
- The Mic gameplay is amazing, exceeded my expectations (although I was scared for a while cause I plugged the mic and it said it wasn’t plugged, and it wasn’t until I read on the internet that I had to plug the gamepad as well…, the game should say… the mic is in but you need a gamepad dude!)
- More people get to play
CONS
- Songs available are not as cool as Guitar Hero, maybe cause they tried to balance the coolness between drums and guitar. The Guitar player will get bored if it’s experienced in guitar hero, most songs are just dumb chord strumming
- They promoted the game with Welcome To The Jungle and the song isn’t there, that was dissapointing after clearing all the songs
- When playing the Tour in multiplayer, it’s a pain in the ass to unlock more songs, and you’re forced to play the same songs over and over again, and you get bored and stick Guitar Hero III for another 2 hours
- 2 Friends from PlayMor.com reported on their podcast their Guitars Broke, I can’t say the same yet
- The noise of the drum’s is very annoying to even the drum player, no matter how loud you play the game you’ll still hear the TAC-TAC-TAC,
then your neighbors will complain, and then you’ll have to play with headphones, which is the best solution so you don’t hear the damn plastic sound.

Que fiiiiiino, yo quiero ese juego. Sólo que era muy aparatoso para traernoslo. Pero de seguro lo compraremos a ver si tocamos online como un grupo de rock diversificado

I agree that rocking out in BWT gets a little repetitive. But isn’t that the life of a rockstar? Playing the same songs over and over to a crowd of demanding, drunken fans? Me and my co-hosts from pleimor LIVE (btw thanks for the shout-out) by far, prefer Rock Band to GHIII. There is nothing like the experience of rocking out with three of your buddies. And weekly downloadable content will alleviate a lot of the repetitiveness of the BWT. Anyway nice drumming, was that on hard mode? You should try the other Metallica songs Blackened, And Justice For All…, and Ride the lightning. Those songs are brutal once you try them on hard and above.

Oh, and by the way check this out:
On the “Press Start” screen, enter:
RYBRRBBRYB (xbox 360).
That should unlock all the songs. Can make BWT a little less repetitive. But I think that it disables saving so i think you have to enter the code every time you do play the game.

Gerard Cebolla:
I guess the life of the rockstar is repetitive but I guess I got spoiled by the gamer psychology of unlocking more and more with GHIII.
I hate using cheats, but I had to resource to that unlock all songs code to be able to have fun when friends came over.
When you have friends over you really just want to play the good shit, not have to go through the same crap over and over.
And yes, I got the Metallica pack this weekend, and I didn’t endure the first minute on expert on the drums with any of the 3 songs.
The video you see is me playing the drums on Expert, not hard.
It’s one of the few songs I can play on expert and hit over 90%
The game gets better as there’s more content for download, I suppose the business model is that. Release a game with sucky songs, and sell the rest… bastards.

yes it will, i have 20 yrs exp in drums. im pretty good, but the video amazes me, makes me think what can accomplish with tool songs, or Rush, places where the drums are way more challenging.
