Indianapolis Metro Police are baffled as to what made a 13-year-old boy in foster care to stab another teen this morning.
Authorities responded to the East 43rd Street address on the report of a person stabbed and found 19-year-old Anastasyia Jacobs with multiple wounds. Her 2-year-old son sustained an injury to his right leg.
Jacobs' grandmother, Gloria Jacobs, told police she and her 13-year-old ward were watching television when he left the room and came back 5 minutes later unclothed claiming to have "killed Ana."
The victim said she was asleep in another room with her son at the time of the attack. Both victims were taken to Wishard Hospital for treatment.
The 13-year-old was arrested on preliminary charges of attempted murder and criminal recklessness.
Sgt. Matt Mount says the boy has been a ward of the state since age five and was placed with the Jacobs family about 5 months ago.
Mount says there have been no other instances of violence prior to this incident.
