Harry Potter has his wand and James Bond his license to kill, but who knew they also had the power to move continents?

According to the industry trade papers, Fox has pushed the release of "Australia" from Nov. 14 to Nov. 26, the latest ripple caused by the Warner Bros. decision to move " Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from fall to July 17, 2009.

Directed by Baz Luhrmann, the long-awaited "Australia" focuses on the romance between an English woman ( Nicole Kidman) and an Aussie cattle driver ( Hugh Jackman) set against the backdrop of World War II.

When Warner Bros. shifted the latest installment of the "Harry Potter" franchise to next summer, Summit Entertainment swooped in and moved its vampire romance "Twilight" into Nov. 21. Also hoping to fill the voice, " Quantum of Solace," the latest James Bond thriller, was pushed back a week from Nov. 7 to Nov. 14.

The "Australia" move gives it a crack at the Thanksgiving weekend, but also puts it up against a diverse assortment of competition, including the carry-over from "Twilight" and Disney's "Bolt," plus new Wednesday releases including "Transporter 3," "The Road" and "Four Christmases."
