| love wanted |
hah! was talking about the lunch at cinta (m'sian restaurant) and the movie 'wanted'. ;) went with a bunch of edhousemates, namely luwita, alex, peachy, carmelita, najwa and eshin. well, the last two didn't watch the movie with us tho, but oh well. :)
had pad thai chicken at cinta, and could only manage eating half of the dish and tapau-ed the other half for dinner tonight. woohoo~ :D
as for the movie.. it successfully made me realise how truly pathetic, boring and unimpressive my life is, with all my uninteresting interests and inhibitions and cowardliness. as the protagonist poses the question to the audience sometime during the showing of the movie,
...I was ordinary and pathetic, just like you... This is not me fulfilling my destiny. This is not me following in my father's footsteps. This is definitely not me saving the world. This is me taking back control of my life... What the f*** have you done lately? ...then again, after watching the whole movie, maybe i like the way life is going for me now. i prefer a slow & peaceful rather than a fast and hectic lifestyle.
on another note, i was almost scared by angelina jolie in the movie. not because of her role, but because of her body. she seemed anorexic thin and dangerously lethargic. she seemed like she could break in half if someone were to bend her, freaky seyh! someone told me it's because she wasn't eating much at the time due to her mom's death or sthg. huhu. my heart goes to her :(
to be honest tho, i was really looking fwd to watching ms. jolie, and she's still hot and all, but imma gonna have to pass the fav character title to james mcavoy for this movie. he really managed to convey his emotions and everything very well, i really empathised with his character. and the cinematography of this movie is insanely freakishly awesome. crazy CG-work!
one thing tho, i'm not very into the gory factor of the movie. i'm not sure if animals weren't harmed in this movie, but the amount of blood (fake or not) in this movie creeps me out. i mean, i know it's an assassin-ish thing to have blood and all, but geez, the slaughter room or whatever the place is GROSS with a major stress on gross.
so yeah. brilliant movie, regardless. i'd give it 7 1/2 out of 10 :P
