AT&T’s off-again, on-again free WiFi for iPhonesIt’s on-again!

Update: It’s OFF again.

For those that haven’t been following the drama (shame on you!) here’s the scoop. AT&T last Thursday began trials of free WiFi service for iPhone users – and people picked up on it pretty fast. It was suspicious though because there was no mention of it from either AT&T or Apple.

Then on 04 May AT&T removed the free WiFi access – much to the dismay of iPhone users everywhere.

Well, today the service is back and it’s official.

According to MacRumors AT&T’s iPhone website (under ‘Plans’ tab) has been updated to reveal that each iPhone plan now includes access to their “more than 17,000 Wi-Fi hotspots, including Starbucks all for use in the U.S.”

So, is it working where you are?

Update: According to Gizmodo, it’s off again. Damn you AT&T! I call for an immediate boycott! That’s it. I’m getting a VZW handset that actually has coverage in my area. Enough is enough.
