O2, the operator with the exclusive UK distribution deal for the iPhone, has released tariff information for Apple's handset.

O2 said it will be launching the iPhone 3G in the UK, as expected, on 11 July, with an increased focus on business customers.

According to pricing released by O2, the 8GB version of the iPhone 3G will be available for £99 on a new £30-per-month tariff and the existing £35-per-month tariff. Consumers choosing either the £45-per-month or £75-per-month tariffs will get the 8GB iPhone 3G for free.

The 16GB iPhone 3G will cost £159 on the £30 and £35 monthly tariffs, and £59 on the £45 monthly tariff. The handset will be free on the £75 monthly tariff.

All iPhone customers will continue to receive unlimited data browsing over O2's HSDPA network, the company said. IPhone users will also get unlimited access to 9,500 Wi-Fi hotspots through both The Cloud and BT Openzone. Both the 8GB and 16GB iPhone 3G will also be available for O2 Pay & Go customers, with pricing to be confirmed in the coming weeks, said O2.

It is unclear at this stage whether O2 plans to release any business-specific pricing, or the pricing plans it has announced are the only options available to enterprise users.
