Joe Miller, vice president of platforms and technology development at Linden Lab, talks to CNET News.com's Dan Farber about the challenges in developing dynamic and reliable back-end operations for the 3D virtual world of Second Life.

Miller also discusses how Linden Lab is utilising new, hi-tech conferencing tools for business users, such as VoIP solutions and video-streaming technologies.
