The world's largest BitTorrent tracker site also reports Warner Bros as well for "bribing the police."

Last month I reported how Jim Keyzer, the Chief Swedish police investigator in a preliminary investigation against The Pirate Bay for suspected copyright infringement, is now an employee of Warner Bros.

Keyzer had a leading role in the prosecution against The Pirate Bay and is expected to be a key witness in the upcoming trial. Being a police investigator he would have been expected to be a credible and impartial witness. But, now new information reveals that the 39 year-old investigator isn't such an objective professional after all. For apparently since March 16 of this year he has been employed by Warner Bros, one of the plaintiffs in the prosecution against The Pirate Bay. Keyzer himself confirmed the information but refused to reveal what his position within the company is.

Keyzer was also heading an investigation where The Pirate Bay sued some of the mayor media corporations for data trespassing. Raising even more questions of impartiality is that that case was recently closed by him for lack of evidence.

So it was certainly with some sense of satisfaction yesterday that The Pirate Bay filed a formal complaint against Mr. Jim Keyzer.

From their blog:

So when we found out now that they've employed the head investigatory police officer from the ongoing case against us, already in August last year, we couldn't just lie down. We reported the police officer yesterday. For a lot of different reasons, at least three criminal complaints was filed. But you know what? It's illegal to bribe the police as well. So more people have been reported to the police. So who's the fucking criminals really? Hey hollywood assholes - Be afraid. Very afraid. The law is coming to serve justice.

When the court case is over, we will demand compensation for the years of time and personal money spent on this media circus. And the MPA, Ifpi and the others will have to pay up. The Pirate Bay never goes down and we never take any crap, ffs!

Keyzer could say its anything but a conflict of interest. He certainly can't be allowed to take the stand in a case against The Pirate Bay while employed by the plaintiff.

  • #1    Great example right here why the **AA's are bad. Employing officers of the law is just dirty. Just remember folks, if you ever need to justify your hate of the **AA's to someone, THIS, THIS RIGHT HERE is all you ever need for a reason.
