Behind the screen: HandiLand Kitty's Home

By Kuswanto @ 27.06.08 · Tags: ,

HandiLand is getting modest on each days, we have been working on a new HandiLand feature, Kitty’s Home. Kitty’s Home is a place where player can have their own room and fill it with furnitures, change its wall and floor from HandiLand Kitty’s Home Store. Players also can invite other players to visit his/her room and hangout together.

Kitty’s Home is our new task in Handipoints, at the first time we thought it won’t that hard to make those furnitures. But, looks like we were underestimated the work. The furniture design process is a lot harder than the Cat’s Costumes, we need to think what is the best approach for each furniture collection. Here it’s the Garden Party Collection on Kitty’s Home Catalog.

We have to draw each side of the objects, to make it work. We skipped the sketching to save times, instead we start directly draw each items in Flash or Illustrator. Another challenges is how to make the items in a collection match with each other. We started to decide color palette for each collection, if an object that are not in the same hues, the illustrator who did the object must recolor it. By time all our illustrator is like working with telepathy, each objects looks like was done by one person
