If you're going to spend a lot of time playing games on your PC—whether you jump from one game to the next or obsessively hone your skills in a single title—one of the first things you need to do is ditch that sorry mouse that came with your PC and get a quality gaming mouse. It doesn't need to cost an arm and a leg, but a good quality mouse built for gaming will truly provide smoother and more accurate tracking with less hand movement, as well as providing good driver tools to tune the mouse to the way you want to play.
Over the years we have reviewed a lot of mice, from Logitech's high-tech MX Revolution to the odd and extremely high-featured Fanatec Heäd$h0t. It has been well over a year since we reviewed Logitech's G5 Laser Optical Mouse, one of the few products we have ever given a 10/10 score to here at ExtremeTech. Since that time, even though great mice have come and gone, none have made us want to unplug that G5 as our everyday gaming mouse of choice. In our recent Ultimate Mouse Smack-Down retrospective, the G5 scored the most marks for gaming mice. Even the cordless G7 suffered from such short battery life that we opted to stick with the G5.
Upon first laying hands on Razer's new DeathAdder, one thought came to mind: This could be it. This could finally be the mouse that makes me give up my G5. Let's take a closer look at Razer's awesome new mouse and see if it can de-throne our old faithful Logitech. Continued...

Well, I read the article Extreme Tech wrote about the Razer Death Adder. I've been using the stock Logitech mouse and keyboard since I bought my system about 2 years ago (with upgrades since then of course.) I've been looking for a new mouse andk eyboard for a long time but didn't want to waste money on something that just didn't add up. So, to the point, I read the Razer articel, you guys gave it a 10, I researched it at other sites too, so I ordered it from the only website I could find it at. Let me tell you; It's well worth $60. I play Half-Life 2, Painkiller, and TLJ: Dreamfall with it and it's an amazing mouse. I have big hands and the mouse supports them with ease. I couldn't believe how light-weight the mouse was. Plus, the pulsing blue light is way cool. Awesome piece of work.
