How To Perform Disk Defragmentation To Keep Your HDD/SSD/USB Perform Well In Windows 7/8/8.1/10

Hello folks, I hope you all are doing well at your home. Today, I'm going to discuss with you regarding the fragmentation of your physical drive (HDD/SSD/USB). Don't worry if you are not aware of this process, I will explain this process in detail and also share with you the steps on how to overcome it.

Whenever you perform any operation (such as download, copy or delete files) with your physical drive, the system will convert those files in binary and stores them into blocks. For easy understanding, you can refer to the below image.

In the above GIF, you can imagine that all the square boxes are memory blocks of your physical drives. Now, assume that different colors in the GIF suggest different files stored in the memory blocks. In the beginning, you can see the colors are not set in contiguous order. For instance, if you want to make all the red color boxes in a contiguous manner, you need to move other colors to some other free space and then move the remaining red blocks in the first row to make it contiguous. You can follow the same process for other colors as well.

Now, you are most probably aware of the fragmentation process, but you might be thinking about how to overcome this issue in your system, right? Don't worry, it's a quite simple process to defragment the fragmented blocks. Just follow the below steps and you're done!

Steps to perform defragmentation for your physical drive

The first step is to open the file explorer. You can either open it by pressing the "Windows button + E" at the same time or you can just click on "My Computer" or "This PC" on the desktop or you can simply run the command "explorer.exe" in the command box.
Now, right-click on the drive on which you want to perform the defragmentation and then select the "Properties" option from the context menu.

In the properties windows, select the "Tools" tab.

In the Tools tab, you find a section called, "Optimize and defragment drive". In this section, click on the "Optimize" button.

Once you click on the "Optimize" button, it will open up a window in which all of the logical drives listed. There you need to select the drive on which you want to perform the defragmentation. You can select multiple drives by using the "Ctrl" or "Shift" keys from the keyboard. Before starting the defragment process, we will first analyze the selected drives to know how many % of the drive is fragmented.

It might take a few minutes to analyze the selected drives. Once it finishes processing, it will show you the % of the fragmentation for the selected drives. Now again, you can select the drives and then click on the "Optimize" button to start the defragmentation process.

Once you click on the "Optimize" button, it might take from several minutes to a few hours depending on the size and degree of fragmentation of your drive. You can still use your computer during the defragmentation process. It will perform around 8 to 9 passes to finish this process.

Once it finishes all the passes, you can see the "Last run" column will be updated to the current time and the "Current status" will show "OK (0% fragmented)". It means the selected drive is successfully defragmented.

Yupppiieeeeee! your drive is now fully defragmented. Wasn't it indeed an easy process to follow? You can follow the same steps to perform defragmentation for other drives. Also, there is an option available to schedule the defragmentation process in which you can also select how frequently your drive should be defragmented.

Steps to schedule the defragmentation process

In the same window in which all the drives are listed, click on the "Change Settings" button.

It will open up a new window. Select the option "Run on a schedule (recommended)". It will automatically run the defragmentation process (every week by default) in the background.

Click on the dropdown to change the frequency for this scheduled process. You can choose whether you want to optimize your drives on "Daily", "Weekly" or "Monthly" basis. I prefer to select the "Weekly" frequency.

Apart from selecting the frequency, you can select the drives on which you want to perform this operation. Click on the "Choose" button beside the "Drives" section.

It will open up a window listing all the drives of your system. Select the drives that you want to include in the scheduled process and click "OK". I recommend selecting all the drives on the list.

Now, click on the "OK" button. Hola! You just configured the scheduled optimization. Now your system will automatically perform the defragmentation for after every 1 week (the frequency you selected from the dropdown) to keep the drives up to date.

Apart from your internal physical disk, you can also perform the same steps to optimize your external HDD, SSD, or USB. This option is available in all windows (i.e. windows 7,8,8.1 and 10).

So today, I'm going to share you few steps by which you can disable advertisements in your µTorrent tool.

Steps to remove unwanted advertisements from uTorrent

First of all, if you don't have µTorrent installed, download the basic version of µTorrent from here and install it.
After installing it, simply open it. After opening it, you can see advertisements are being displayed on the bottom left corner and on top center.

Now, go to Options -> Preferences or simply press Ctrl + P to open preferences menu.

In the preferences menu, go to Advanced option.

Now, search for "left" in filter input, you'll get offers.left_rail_offer_enabled in the search result and by default, its value is true. Change the value to false as mentioned in the below image.

Same way, search for "sponsor" in filter input, you'll get offers.sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled in the search result and by default it values is true. Change the value to false as mentioned in the below image.

Once the above two changes are done, click "OK" button and restart µTorrent.
After restarting µTorrent, you can see the advertisements are gone! :-)

So following the above steps, you can remove get rid off unwanted advertisements from µTorrent basic edition.

I always use good antivirus program and maintain my laptop very well. I never got any virus in laptop at all. But once my friend needed some movies and games so I gave him my USB. After two days, he gave it back to me. I inserted my USB in my laptop. And guess what I found??? I found so many shortcuts in my USB and I can't able to access any of data which I gave to my friend. I tried to scan it from different different antivirus programs and also used Windows Defender but that wasn't enough to remove that shortcut virus. Then I searched a lot on internet and then find a solution to remove it and that's what I am sharing with you today.

There are many viruses available but now a days these shortcut viruses are really embarrassing for all the users. Because these viruses are hardly detected by any antivirus. So it was become headache to remove them permanently. Follow this tutorial and it will definitely help you to get rid off these shortcut viruses.

Steps to remove Shortcut Virus From USB/Hard Disk Using CMD

First of all insert the USB or Hard Disk that is affected by shortcut viruses.

Now open Command Prompt (CMD) with Administrator Privileges. If you don't know how to run CMD with Administrator Privileges? Click Here to Know How To Run CMD as Administrator.

Then type the following command

attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:*.*

Here g: is the drive letter. You've to replace it with your USB or Hard Disk drive letter.

Make sure you have not made any spell mistake and take care about spaces in between letters.

After typing this command, press enter.

This command will make folders from that shortcuts and make your data available in root director of USB.

Now copy all your data from USB to your computer or somewhere else. Now format your USB and then you'll see there are no more shortcuts available. Copy your data back to USB.

Some Examples For The Direct Use

For D Drive : attrib -h -r -s /s /d d:*.*

For E Drive : attrib -h -r -s /s /d e:*.*

For F Drive : attrib -h -r -s /s /d f:*.*

For G Drive : attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:*.*

For H Drive : attrib -h -r -s /s /d h:*.*

For I Drive : attrib -h -r -s /s /d i:*.*

For J Drive : attrib -h -r -s /s /d j:*.*

For K Drive : attrib -h -r -s /s /d k:*.*

So by using this command you can remove Shortcut Virus permanently. But if you insert your USB on a computer which is virus infected, your USB can also be affected by it and it may possible you can find the shortcut viruses again in your USB. But this is the trick by which you can remove Shortcut Virus easily.

How To Run Command Prompt (CMD) With Administrator Privileges In Windows XP/7/8/8.1

Almost everyone knows what is Command Prompt (CMD) and how to use it. I am sure many people have tried some common commands in CMD. There are many commands available that can allow you to execute without Administrator Privileges. But there are some commands those need Administrator Privilege in order to execute them. So it is necessary to run CMD as Administrator in that situation.

Whenever you are operating with Command Prompt (CMD), you often get "Access is Denied" or some permission related errors. In that case, one of the cause of that error is you need to run CMD with Administrator Privileges. This tutorial may help you to run CMD with administrator privileges.

Windows 8/8.1/10 Users

Press Windows + X button together, select Command Prompt (Admin). It'll open CMD with Administrator Privileges. If it asks for username/password, provide the admin username/password.

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories and right click on Command Prompt and select "Run as.." option. If it asks for Admin password, provide the password of the administrator of that computer. Refer below image for more idea.

Yesterday I explained how to access any blocked website on Google Chrome using Hola extension. Today, I'll explain you how to access any blocked website on Mozilla Firefox using Hola extension. You've to follow same procedure to use Hola extension to unblock any blocked website. The difference is the installation of Hola extension on Mozilla Firefox. But don't worry, I'm here to tell you everything in detail.

Steps to Access Blocked Websites on Mozilla Firefox

As I mentioned in the previous post (How to Access Blocked Websites on Google Chrome), I'll give you an example of Facebook as it is blocked in my area temporary because of some reasons. Follow the steps given below and unblock any website on Mozilla Firefox.

First of all Download Hola extension for Mozilla Firefox from the above given link. You can see a file named "hola_firefox_ext_1.9.354_www.xpi" will be downloaded.

Now open Mozilla Firefox and write the URL of the website you want to access. Obviously it'll not load since it's been blocked. You will see the requested page will not load and you'll get error as you can see in the below image.

Open a new tab and click on Menu button and there go to "Add-ons" option . You can refer the image given below.

You can also write about:addons in the address bar, it will also open the add-ons setting page.

Now on the Add-ons setting page, click on the setting(gear icon) and select "Install Add-on From File..." option as shown in below given image.

Now a window will pop-up to "Select add-on to install". There you've to select the downloaded file "hola_firefox_ext_1.9.354_www.xpi" path and click open. See the Image below.

After that, Firefox will ask you whether you want to install "Hola Better Internet" extension. Simply click on "Install" button as shown in image below.

After clicking on "Install" button, it'll install Hola Better Internet extension to you Mozilla Firefox browser. Just like the below image suggests.

Now you can see Hola extension left to the menu icon. Now write any website URL that has been blocked. Wait till Firefox say "The connection has timed out". Once it shows this error, click on Hola extension and select any country from that list as shown in below image.

That's a magic! You can see the website blocked in your area or blocked by school/college is accessible. The Hola extension shows the flag of the country from which you are accessing the website. See the below figure.

Hello Friends, today I'm going to give you a trick by which you can able to access any blocked website. There are different different reasons you can't access some websites. Most common reasons are, website is banned in your area, your ISP has blocked that website, school/college has blocked that website. I'm posting this trick because in my area, because of some reason, my ISP has blocked social sites like Facebook, Twitter etc. So to help them who are getting this problem, I've decided to share something with you.

Steps to Access Blocked Website On Google Chrome

In my area, Facebook and Twitter are blocked, so I'm giving you example of Facebook. Download the Hola Extension for Google Chrome from the given link and extract the downloaded zip file. If you download hola extension from Chrome Web Store, than you only have to follow last two steps of this tutorial.

First of all, Open Google Chrome. And write the URL of the website you want to open. For me It's https://www.facebook.com . Facebook is blocked so Google Chrome will say "This webpage is not available". You can see this in below image.

Now open new tab (ctrl+t) and write chrome://extensions in Address Bar. It'll open the Extension Settings for Google Chrome. As shown in image, check the "Developer Mode" option.

Now on Extension Setting page, Click on "Load unpacked extensions..." as shown in below image.

Now a window will pop-up. There you've to select the extracted folder path. i.e. "hola_chrome_ext_1.8.327" folder as shown in below image.

After selecting the folder path, You can see Hola extension is installed on your Google Chrome as shown in below image.

[Solved] - How to make Bootable USB Drive for Windows Operating System using Rufus

Now a days, there are many operating systems available in market. People are using them on different different device. But as we all know it's not human, it's machine, so sometimes it gets confused when user performs such tasks. Sometimes system may hang and will not response at per the user want. This problem usually takes place when user is working with many different different processes. Sometimes operating system might be crashed because of viruses and other threats. Whenever this problem occurs, user has to re-install the operating system in order to use that device. You can re-install it using CD/DVD but in this generation, no one likes to use CD/DVD because of it's small life as well as it's slow processing speed. In order to get high speed in making bootable USB and in installing operating system, USB is best option available.

I'm here to give you easy steps to make a bootable USB without doing manual stuff. You just have to follow the below mentioned steps in order to prepare a bootable USB.

Steps to prepare a bootable USB using Rufus software

Make sure you don't have any important data stored on your USB drive, because your USB will be formatted in this process. I recommend you to use a 8 GB USB.
Now, First of all you need is an Image file of the operating system you need to install on the device. Image file contains .iso, .img, .bin, .daa, .mdf etc. extensions.
Now, you've to download Rufus software (size less than 1 MB!).
After you download this software, you don't even need to install it at all. Just run it as administrator.

Connect your USB to device and then you can able to see your USB selected in Rufus software. (If not automatically selected, then select it manually)

After selecting your USB, you only have to change 1 setting and keep all other settings as it is. You've to change the setting to ISO Image as mentioned in the below image.

After selecting ISO Image option, you've to provide the path where the ISO Image file is situated in your device. You only have to browse that ISO file as mentioned in the image below.

After selecting the ISO Image file of your operating system, click on "Start" to start the process of making Bootable USB.

Once again, make sure that you don't have any important data on your USB drive because it'll be erased in this process. They'll warn you that all data will be destroyed, press "OK".

After pressing "OK", it'll start it's process automatically. Now you've to wait till the process complete. Generally, it may take near about 10 minutes according to your system. Sometimes, it may also take 20-30 minutes if you're using slower systems and it also depends on the ISO Image file size. After the process completes, you can able to see "DONE" at lower left corner as mentioned in image below..

Now go to system tray and select "Safely Remove Hardware" and select your USB there and then eject your USB. Now you're done.
Now you have a bootable USB and you can install any Windows OS on any windows platform device with good speed.

Now a days, internet is the most needed thing in daily life of any person. Almost all work has been made online. If there is no internet connection, Computer/Laptop/Smart phone suppose to be very boring. Each person has internet connection but sometimes people are complaining about an error while connecting the laptop/computer to the internet. They get "Limited Access" error and they can't able to access internet even though they've connected to the working internet connection. This is a common error now a days and it can be easily solve. Here I have provided an easy solution for this problem. Now you can able to get rid off this error easily.

Actually this is the error which occurs due to conflict of IP address. Because of too many devices are connected to the same WiFi, router/modem has some conflict of IP address. So this error is not a big issue as you can solve this error by your own. You just have to do is, follow the simple instructions given below.

Steps to fix "Limited Access" problem while connecting to WiFi

First of all, connect to the internet (WiFi) you want to connect.
Now check whether it's connected or it's showing "Limited Access" error. (Check whether the WiFi indicator is showing yellow exclamation mark or not)
If you WiFi indicator is showing yellow exclamation mark then you're having "Limited Access" to that internet connection and you may not able to access the internet.
Now you've to do is, right click on the WiFi indicator as mentioned in below image and then click on "Open Network and Sharing Center".

Now you'll see a new window open for "Network and Sharing Center". There you've to find your connected internet connection (SSID) which is given in "Connections" field. Click on that internet SSID as mentioned in below image.

After doing that, you can able to see "Wi-Fi Status" dialogue box opened. On that dialogue box, click on "Properties" as mentioned in below image.

After going to "Properties", "Wi-Fi Properties" dialogue box will appear on window. Here you've to find "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" property. Double click on that TCP/IPv4 property.

After double clicking on that IPv4 property, a new dialogue box will appear for "Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties". In this property, the default settings are "Obtain IP Address Automatically" and "Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically".

Now you've to change both the settings to the "Use the following IP adress" and "Use the following DNS server addresses". In those settings you've to provide values as given in the below image.

After making these changes, click on "OK" and close all other dialogue boxes. Once you've done the process, you'll able to see that your internet has been connected to your device. Now you can access the internet seamlessly.

NOTE : You can put any IP address in between 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.255 but make sure other fields have to be same as mentioned in the above image.

[Solved] - How to Solve Obtaining IP Address Error While Connecting With BSNL WiFi (Wireless Internet) on Android Device

Since I'm using an Android Device, I used to use my WiFi home network for internet. In starting days, it was running quite well but one day I found a problem with it. While I turned on my WiFi (Wireless Internet) and tried to connect it with my home network, it was saying "Obtaining IP Address" and that was stuck on my screen. It was unable to connect with my WiFi and I was only able to see "Obtaining IP Address".

I've tried too many thing like, I've restarted my Router and also Forgot all other connected WiFi from settings. But no luck, still nothing has happened! I was still getting that error. But after doing some research I found an easy solution for it. If you are also getting this problem than just follow the below given steps and get rid off this error.

Follow the below given steps to solve Obtaining IP Address error (Android)

First of all turn on your WiFi setting on your android device.
Now you will able to see the available connections on your device.
Now try to connect your desire WiFi network.
Now if the status is stuck with "Obtaining IP Address", you can able to see like mentioned in the below screenshot.

Now touch and tap on the network you want to connect. Here in this example, you've to touch and tap on the "BSNL_AP".
Now you'll get two options like "Forget Network" and "Modify Network" as mentioned in the below screenshot.

Now select "Modify Network" and then you will get a menu as given below.

Now you've to provide the password of the selected network and select the "Show advanced options" given just after "Show password".
Leave the Proxy settings as it is and in IPv4 settings by default, it's "DHCP". Change IPv4 settings by "Static".
Now you'll able to change the advance settings. You will see "IPv4 Address", "Default Gateway", "Subnet Mask" (Optional), "Network Prefix length", "DNS 1", "DNS 2"- these settings.
You can put IPv4 Address like 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.254 , Default Gateway as 192.168.1.1 , Subnet Mask as 255.255.255.0 , Network Prefix Length as 24 , DNS 1 as 8.8.8.8 , DNS 2 as 8.8.8.4 and then save the settings.

IPv4 Address : 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.254 (Any one inside this range)

Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1

Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0

Network prefix length : 24

DNS 1 : 8.8.8.8

DNS 2 : 8.8.8.4

Now you've to put 127.0.0.1 or 127.0.0.3 in the ip field and leave the name field blank as it is and then choose Office option which is installed in your system.
After doing all these steps, click on the red button to activate Office. If you're getting too many times "Time Synchronization" then wait for 5 minutes and if it still doing same then restart your system.
Now if you want to check if your office 2013 has been activated or not then just open "Word 2013" and then go to "Open Other Documents" -- "Account" there you can find "Product Activated". It means you've successfully activated your office successfully.
