On several social media pages, it's seen that a Xiaomi user has claimed that, they received a pop-up from Google Play Protect saying - "This app can collect data that could be used to track you". This message only appeared when the user updated 'Quick apps' which was rolled out on 14th November.

If you're not that familiar with what is Google Play Protect, then let me tell you that it is a built-in Security or Antivirus. Google Play Protect had partnered with three Mobile AntiVirus Companies - ESET, Lookout and Zimperium and has created this security to protect users from the bad apps (just like we all do when we go out with our family members 😉 and act like a lion 🦁😝).

Well, that's just one part of it, but the main part is that Google Play Protect scans your device every time you install a new app & also at random. It checks the apps installed on your device (which include even system apps), checks the permission granted by the user to each app and also looks for harmful (malware) apps. If any malware is found it sends a pop-up to the user to delete the harmful application.

Reason for block:

Well, no one knows the reason and even Google does not mention the reason for the block. It might be because of a report that 'Quick apps' has access to over 55 application-level permissions of user's smartphone. This can make the mobile vulnerable. It could also be because of a user's report in April on 'Quick apps' that it had permissions to install even an unregistered application on user's device without notifying the user. Records of user's confidential data like IMEI, IMSI, SIM numbers and even records of audio, video and calls as well as working adverts on user lock screen, browser and etc., could be easily accessed.

A major point to consider is that it is not a part of Google Play Store but a part of Xiaomi owned MIUI system and that's why it can't be uninstalled.

Google Play has set 64-bit requirement where on :

December 2k17 : The Initial notifications will be send to all developers that 64-bits versions of there apps or games are required by Play.

January 2k19 : Here Google Play will help developers by sending them the requirements and parameters set by them.

August 2k19 : The new & updated apps must have 64-bit version Exception for existing games which are using <=5.6.

August 2k21 : The Google Play will stop serving the apps which are non-64-bit apps to 64-bit capable devices. And all new & updated app must include a 64-bit version and no exception for unity games.

Android apps 32-bit & 64-bit

This requirement does not apply to:

Apks or app bundles that are explicitly targeting the Wear OS or the Android TV.
Apks or app bundles that are not distributed to the devices running on Android 9 Pie or later.
