Ha! I bet you didn't think we'd be back for a while. We'll guess again, 'cause here comes awesome episode number 4 (we're really rolling along here)! This time around, we give you a smattering of some great covers you've probably never heard. The originals, of course, are classics, but the new ones might just be better.

Oh my gosh, we're back.

Yeah, we thought we died too. Alas, we're still here kicking. It's Spring Break for Bill (yeah, we can't believe it either) and Megan's back at Hope, so once again, we form the formiddable duo who delivers great music right to your desktop. East Coast Memories

Well well, folks.

It's been ages and then some, hasn't it?

I've been busy hanging out with the likes of Death Cab for Cutie, Ben Folds, and Matt Pond PA.
(I kid you not, but don't get too jealous....despite long conversations or hanging out backstage, I doubt they remember my name)

I've also been in NYC quite a bit. Hurrah for the city life!

Anyway, I thought that this week instead of the usual podcast (Bill and I remain mostly quite busy for this week, but next week should be promising).....
I would create the world's most spectacular video ever.

This little piece was created using my ancient Nikon CoolPix camera (woo hoo! no sound on the video!) and my super-fabulous iBook G4 and iMovie.

So, enjoy it, my dear friends.

Dreams Are Made of This

So, things are still hectic as ever for Megan and I and I doubt we'll have a chance to do an episode this week. But I did want to feature something that I think you all will enjoy.

A while back in August, Flickr featured an image that made me do a double take. (See this Flickr photoset for more photos from a person who actually worked on the set.) Yes, they acually sent 90,000+ bouncy balls down two streets in San Francisco. It was for a Sony commercial, that on Monday, was brought to my attention.

The song featured in the commerical is Jose González's "Heartbeats" and since we don't have another episode yet for you, here's the MP3. Buy his album on iTunes.

Until we can find our way out of the mounds of books and paperwork we're buried under, enjoy.

We are now featured in our very own category on the Podcastingnews.com directory. You can find us in the "Music >> Commentary, Criticism and Discussion" section. I submitted our podcast to them and they reviewed it and voila!, we get our categorization. Pretty freakin' sweet.

Oh, and it doesn't look like Meg and I will be getting around to the aforementioned podcast. Unless some crazy miracle happens that can clear out our schedules at the same time, you'll have to wait until next week. But I promise, it'll be worth it.

A Brief Hiatus

Our apologies...we did not have the time to do a show for Friday. Megan and I have been very busy with classes and extracurricular work. We are hoping to do an episode sometime between now and next week, as we won't have one next week either due to some other obligations. But fear not! We are revising, rethinking and replanning the structure of this show and we'll be back very soon. We're going to aim for more coherent shows (the next one will probably be all about awesome cover songs - and we've got a few other ideas brewing so hold tight) that should hopefully be more entertaining.

So please excuse our pause, while we rework our cause.

For now, this is Apples and Lemons.

Meg brings to the table a news story relevant to our podcast name, we discuss some new films including the Constant Gardener and the Corpse Bride, and then as usual revel in great music, both old and new. So this is the start of our new podcast. Megan Hunt and I, Bill Couch will be creating new episodes (weekly?) with the best new songs we can find, and some great older ones.

Megan and I are both college students. Megan is a senior at Hope College, of Holland, Michigan (our hometown), majoring in English and is currently studying abroad (for the third time) in Philadelphia. I am a junior at the University of Michigan majoring in Communications and Film & Video Studies and for the lack of some cool city I'm studying abroad in, I will tell you that I'm living with 7 women, and at times that can be just as interesting. We'll be broadcasting via conference calls between Philly and Ann Arbor, which I think is pretty freakin' sweet.

Each week(?), we'll bring you whatever is on our minds, from the cool random people we meet during our ventures, to the quirky things our professors do, to who got drunk where this weekend, to the latest film we saw (and loved or hated). But one thing is for sure, you will find lots of good music, including new arising artists and our current favorites.
