Paris Saint-Germain have begun exploring a potential summer move for Gabriel Martinelli, with early contacts already made as they assess attacking reinforcements ahead of next season.

According to reports in France, the club’s sporting director Luis Campos has met with representatives of the Arsenal forward to understand the conditions of a possible deal.

The approach is described as exploratory at this stage, with no formal offer submitted, but it signals growing interest from the Ligue 1 champions in one of Arsenal’s established attacking options.

Martinelli, who remains under contract at Arsenal until 2027 with an option for a further year, has featured heavily this season and continues to be viewed as a key part of Mikel Arteta’s squad.

The Brazilian has made 46 appearances across all competitions, contributing 11 goals and six assists, numbers that underline his consistent involvement even during periods of fluctuating form.

Paris Saint-Germain are understood to be evaluating several attacking profiles as they look to strengthen Luis Enrique’s squad, and Martinelli’s versatility across the frontline is believed to be one of the main attractions.

His ability to operate on either wing, combined with his pace and direct style, fits the profile of a player capable of adapting quickly to the demands of French football.

Despite the interest, Arsenal are not actively looking to part ways with the 24-year-old, and there has been no indication from the club that they are open to negotiations at this point.

However, with Paris Saint-Germain continuing to monitor the situation, the coming months could bring further developments, especially if the French side decide to formalise their interest.

Campos is also reported to have held discussions regarding another attacking target, Yan Diomande, as part of a wider recruitment strategy aimed at adding depth and competition in forward areas.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a breakout campaign in Germany and is attracting interest from several top European clubs, highlighting the scale of competition PSG may face in the market.

For now, Martinelli remains firmly part of Arsenal’s plans as they push through a crucial stage of the season, but the attention from Paris adds another layer of intrigue heading into the summer window.

Arsenal take on Manchester City in today’s much-awaited Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium.

The Gunners are presently top of the table with 70 points, six ahead of Man City, who have a game in hand.

They face a stern challenge against the Cityzens. A draw or a win would provide a huge boost in their title pursuit.

A defeat, on the other hand, could mean the title could be decided on goal difference if both teams win their remaining games.

Ahead of the encounter, Arsenal have been handed a timely boost with captain Martin Odegaard having travelled with the team to Manchester.

The Norwegian has suffered numerous injuries this campaign. He picked up a fresh knock to his knee against Sporting CP last week.

Odegaard subsequently missed the next two matches, but the £30 million signing could make his comeback against the Cityzens.

According to Arsenal insider HandofArsenal, Odegaard has been included in the Arsenal travelling squad.

A final decision will be made on his inclusion in the matchday squad to face Pep Guardiola’s side.

Odegaard’s return would be a huge boost

The 27-year-old has had an injury-plagued season with the Gunners. He suffered a couple of freak shoulder injuries earlier in the campaign before a long-term knee issue against West Ham United.

Odegaard has since been sidelined with a couple of knocks to his knee. The midfielder seems to have recovered on time to face Man City, and could make an appearance off the bench after his lay-off.

The Norwegian has had a mixed reception from the Gunners’ faithful this campaign, but we believe he is the best playmaker in the squad when it comes to ball retention and ability to link up play.

The former Real Madrid man also works hard off the ball, with his tireless high-pressing in the final third. This is an attribute that Eberechi Eze lacks, operating from the number 10 position for the Gunners.

Eze will continue as the attacking midfielder for Arsenal against Man City, but Odegaard could emerge as a solution off the bench for manager Mikel Arteta if the Gunners stay in the game until the hour mark.

Despite his injury woes, Odegaard has six goal contributions in his last nine league appearances for Arsenal. He could yet have a big say as the club seek a positive result against Man City today.

Arsenal are planning to swoop for Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso during the summer transfer window, according to Italian outlet Tuttojuve.

The Gunners are preparing for another spending spree this summer, and it is claimed that the club are exploring a new left-back to add to the squad.

Cambiaso has emerged as a fresh target. Arsenal are willing to ‘make serious moves’ for the Italian and could spend around £35 million for his services.

However, Juventus may not entertain his sale unless they receive at least £52m on the table.

Arsenal could utilise Cambiaso in both full-back roles

Cambiaso is predominantly left-footed but highly ambipedal. He has made more than 100 appearances as a right-back and right wing-back in his career.

The Italian can cross or pass with either foot to a high standard. This could be a prime reason behind the Gunners’ interest in signing the former Genoa man.

Arsenal are preparing for the potential departure of Ben White this summer. The right-back will enter the last two years of his contract and could be sold for a reasonable price.

The club have also opened the door for the departure of left-back Myles Lewis-Skelly, who has become the third-choice in the position behind Piero Hincapie and Riccardo Calafiori.

Cambiaso would be a good addition to the ranks. The versatile full-back has a passing accuracy of 88 per cent in Serie A this campaign, averaging two tackles and four recoveries per game.

The Italian has also made seven goal contributions for the Bianconeri. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal can persuade Juventus to lower their valuation for the 26-year-old.

The Gunners may want to negotiate personal terms with the player first. Cambiaso would need to accept a rotational starting role next season if he were to arrive from Turin this summer.

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes has revealed the details behind his decision to join the club from Lille in 2020.

Manchester United, Everton and Napoli were all reportedly keen on signing him, but the Gunners ultimately secured his services for £27 million.

Gabriel has developed into a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s side, playing a central role in the club’s evolution into genuine Premier League title contenders.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Gabriel explained his decision to move to London.

“When I was in France, I watched a lot of Premier League games,” Gabriel said. “I know the Premier League is the best competition.”

“When he (Arteta) called me, I just said ‘yes, I want to be there’. I know in the beginning it was going to be difficult, but the first time I arrived here he tried to help me every single day.”

Gabriel signed a contract extension last summer that will keep him at Arsenal until 2029.

The 28-year-old has been a standout performer for the club, registering 24 goals and 10 assists in 252 appearances across all competitions.

Gabriel will be aiming to continue his strong form as Arsenal prepare for a crucial Premier League clash against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The Gunners are top of the table with 70 points, six points clear of City who have a game in hand.

Arsenal will be eager to preserve their advantage at the summit and strengthen their push for a first league title in over two decades.

Premier League leaders Arsenal are reportedly stepping up their interest in highly-rated Norwegian teenager Eirik Granaas ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Fredrikstad FK midfielder has attracted widespread attention for his outstanding performances in Norway’s top flight.

The 16-year-old is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Scandinavian football, earning praise for his technical quality, vision, creativity and eye for goal.

His rapid rise has drawn comparisons with Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard.

According to the Sun, Arsenal have been closely monitoring Granaas’ development for over a year and are now considering a move to bring him to London.

However, the Gunners are expected to face stiff competition from RB Leipzig, a club renowned for nurturing young players.

Leipzig could hold a significant advantage in the race due to post-Brexit regulations that restrict English clubs from signing foreign players under 18.

Granaas has already etched his name into Norwegian football history.

He made his league debut at just 15 years and 90 days, becoming the youngest player to feature in the country’s top division, surpassing Odegaard’s long-standing record.

The Arsenal captain had previously set the benchmark when he debuted for Stromsgodset at 15 years and 118 days in April 2014.

Arsenal’s interest in Granaas follows a broader strategic shift within the club’s academy structure.

Following the departure of former technical director James Ellis in January, the club has intensified efforts to recruit elite youth prospects globally.

This renewed focus is driven by the emergence of youngsters such as Ethan Nwaneri, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Max Dowman into the first team in recent seasons.

Arsenal take on Manchester City in Sunday’s much-awaited Premier League game at the Etihad Stadium.

The Gunners are currently six points ahead of the Cityzens at the top of the table, but Pep Guardiola’s side have a game in hand.

Arsenal need to avoid a defeat against Man City tomorrow, or the Cityzens would have their title destiny in their hands as well.

If the Gunners lose, it could come to goal difference if both teams win their remaining matches.

Ahead of the encounter, manager Mikel Arteta could make three big changes from the goalless draw against Sporting CP in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final.

Jurrien Timber returns

Jurrien Timber was spotted in training in the lead-up to the Carabao Cup final last month, but was not deemed fit to make the matchday squad.

It was anticipated that he would return to training after the international break, but there have been no positive signs on the right-back thus far.

Still, we are hoping for a surprise selection on Sunday. Manager Mikel Arteta did not rule out the right-back’s return and said that he will be assessed in today’s final training session.

If the Dutchman is fit, it would be a no-brainer to start him ahead of Cristhian Mosquera and Ben White. The £34 million signing has better defensive qualities in one-on-one situations.

Kai Havertz leads the line

Viktor Gyokeres was disappointing in both legs of the Champions League quarter-final against his former club. The Sweden international was replaced before the hour mark with Kai Havertz on Wednesday night, and we anticipate the latter to play as a number nine against Man City.

Havertz struggled with his playmaking in an attacking midfield role against the Cityzens in the League Cup final, but he offers something different upfront with better hold-up and link-up play than Gyokeres. He also has the knack of dropping into midfield, which may be required to limit Man City’s creativity.

Leandro Trossard starts

Noni Madueke sustained a fresh knock to his knee against Sporting CP in midweek. He was spotted limping after the game, but Arteta said the winger looked ‘quite positive‘. The Englishman will be assessed in today’s session.

Irrespective of his fitness, we anticipate Leandro Trossard to be reinstated into the XI. Gabriel Martinelli has been ineffective starting from the left wing in the last two matches, and there could be a straight swap in the position tomorrow.

If Madueke is unfit to start, we could see both Trossard and Martinelli in the starting line-up. Martinelli could be deployed from the right wing ahead of Max Dowman due to his extra mobility and defensive work rate, which will be crucial with Bukayo Saka already ruled out.

Arsenal travel to the Etihad Stadium this weekend knowing that while the Premier League title will not be decided in 90 minutes, its direction could be shaped significantly by what happens in Manchester.

This is the kind of fixture that demands clarity of purpose, because although a draw would keep Arsenal in control, a win would allow them to take a decisive step towards ending their long wait for the title.

Mikel Arteta’s side have been here before in recent seasons, holding strong positions only to see them unravel late on, and that context makes this encounter feel less about maintaining advantage and more about finally asserting dominance over their closest rivals.

Manchester City, for all their inconsistencies this season, remain the one side capable of turning a narrow gap into a winning position, and their recent form suggests they are beginning to find rhythm at the most dangerous point of the campaign.

Their victory over Chelsea, coupled with Arsenal’s defeat to Bournemouth, has shifted momentum just enough to make this a genuine contest again, and that is precisely why Arsenal cannot approach this game with caution alone.

There is a temptation to treat this as a match not to lose, especially given City’s pedigree at home, but that mindset has often worked in the hosts’ favour in the past, allowing them to build pressure and eventually impose themselves.

Arsenal must instead recognise that this is their chance to disrupt that pattern and deliver a performance that reflects a team ready to win the title rather than one hoping to avoid losing it.

The midweek draw against Sporting, which secured progression to the Champions League semi-finals, offered a measure of stability after a difficult domestic run, even if it did little to excite in terms of attacking output.

That result should still matter, because it ended a run of defeats and reminded the squad of their defensive resilience, which will be crucial against a City side that thrives on punishing small lapses.

However, it would be a mistake to assume that one controlled European performance has resolved the issues that have crept into Arsenal’s game over the past few weeks.

Their attack has lacked fluency, their decision-making in key moments has been inconsistent, and too often they have looked like a side carrying the weight of expectation rather than embracing it.

City will look to exploit exactly that, especially with the knowledge that they have experience of closing title races and the confidence that comes from recent silverware success.

Yet Arsenal still hold the advantage, and more importantly, they have shown this season that they can compete with City on equal terms, having put together a strong run of results against them in the league.

This fixture, therefore, is less about proving capability and more about delivering under pressure.

If Arsenal can combine the defensive discipline shown against Sporting with a sharper attacking edge, they have every chance of leaving the Etihad with a result that effectively puts the title beyond City’s reach.

Fail to do so, and the narrative shifts once again towards a familiar late-season chase led by Guardiola’s side, which is precisely the scenario Arsenal must avoid at all costs.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed the absence of Bukayo Saka for the Premier League clash against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The England international has been out of action since the Carabao Cup final loss to the Cityzens. He did report for training on international duty, but returned early to the Gunners.

The decision was deemed precautionary at the time, but the winger has since missed four straight games due to a minor injury and won’t play any part against Man City on the road.

Speaking in today’s press conference, Arteta said that Saka is definitely out of Sunday’s much-awaited encounter, given the 24-year-old has just returned to the grass after an extended lay-off.

He told reporters: “Bukayo is out, that’s for sure. He’s just starting to do some stuff, so let’s see that progression, how quickly we can go through it, and then wait, but at the moment it’s not about that.”

In Saka’s absence, Noni Madueke has been the regular on the right side of the Gunners’ attack.

The ex-Chelsea man recovered quickly from a minor knee injury on international duty, but he is currently doubtful for Sunday, having suffered another knock to his knee against Sporting CP in midweek.

Arsenal have a final training session on Saturday, and Madueke’s availability for the game could depend on whether he can train without pain. The winger will undergo a late fitness test.

If he is deemed unfit to make the XI, we won’t be surprised if the manager is prepared to hand Max Dowman his maiden league start for the Gunners on the right wing against Man City.

The 16-year-old wonderkid has been mesmerising to watch with his quick movement and dribbling skills from the right flank, and could prove his big-game potential against the Cityzens.

Arsenal are six points ahead of Man City at the top of the league table, but the latter have a game in hand. The Gunners need to avoid a defeat to keep their title destiny in their hands.

Otherwise, the title race could be decided on goal difference if both teams win their remaining matches.

Arsenal are showing strong interest in highly rated teenager Jeremy Monga, as they continue their push to recruit some of the brightest young talents in the game.

The 16-year-old winger, currently with Leicester City, has emerged as one of the most sought-after prospects in England following his breakthrough into senior football.

Arsenal are understood to be long-term admirers of Monga and are keen to move ahead of rival clubs in securing his signature.

Despite agreeing a professional contract with Leicester that is set to begin when he turns 17, the deal does not guarantee his long-term future at the club.

Monga’s rapid rise has drawn widespread attention, particularly after he made his Premier League debut at just 15 years old.

That appearance saw him become one of the youngest players in top-flight history, highlighting both his potential and Leicester’s willingness to trust his development.

The teenager has since featured regularly for Leicester this season, making nine starts across all competitions while also contributing from the bench in recent matches.

Known for his pace, direct dribbling and ability to operate across multiple attacking positions, Monga is regarded as one of the most exciting attacking prospects in his age group.

He is capable of playing on either flank or in a more central creative role, adding to his appeal for clubs looking to invest in versatile young players.

Arsenal’s interest reflects a broader shift in their recruitment strategy, with a growing focus on acquiring elite youth talent from outside the club.

The North London side have made several similar moves in recent windows, targeting emerging players from across Europe and beyond.

Recent additions have included promising youngsters from South America and the British Isles, as the club looks to strengthen its long-term pipeline.

Monga’s development has also been closely monitored at international level, where he has represented England at youth level alongside other top prospects.

Leicester, however, remain determined to retain the teenager, viewing him as a central figure in their future plans amid an expected period of transition.

With the summer window approaching, Monga’s situation is likely to attract increasing attention, particularly as Arsenal and other clubs continue to position themselves for a potential move.

For now, Arsenal’s interest signals their intent to stay ahead in the race for emerging talent, with Monga firmly on their radar as one of the standout names to watch.

Arsenal have been given insight into Jorginho’s decision to leave the club, with the midfielder admitting he moved on in search of renewed enjoyment and a more prominent role.

Jorginho, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in 2023, spent two seasons in North London before returning to Brazil with Flamengo.

The Italy international made 79 appearances for the Gunners but started only 27 matches, and he has now revealed that limited minutes played a key role in his exit.

“I want to feel alive and important for the team,” he said. “When a player is not on the pitch, it is hard to keep motivated, and I felt I needed to go somewhere where I was going to play with joy.”

Jorginho made it clear that his departure was not down to any fallout with Mikel Arteta, but rather a personal decision shaped by his role in the squad.

His comments underline the intensity of competition within Arsenal’s midfield, where established players often find opportunities restricted.

The 32-year-old also addressed Arsenal’s tactical evolution, particularly their growing reliance on set-pieces as a source of goals.

While recognising their effectiveness, he suggested that too much focus on structured routines can impact the overall flow of play.

“It does feel like homework, that is the reality,” he said. “But when you do your homework and then you have the test, you have a good result.”

He emphasised the importance of maintaining a balance between organisation and attacking freedom.

“If you focus just on this and forget about the football side, then of course you are not going to have beautiful football,” he added. “I think it is all about balance.”

Jorginho also shared his thoughts on Arsenal’s ongoing Premier League title challenge, urging the squad to avoid the weight of recent history.

“I hope they forget about the last few years,” he said. “If they think about it, then they could put pressure on themselves.”

He instead encouraged the players to trust their current level and position.

“They should realise how strong they are and what a strong position they are in,” he added.

Jorginho’s remarks offer a candid reflection on his time at Arsenal, while also providing a measured perspective on the team’s style and their chances of finally getting over the line this season.
