A new electric city car from Kia has been officially confirmed. Launching officially next year, the new EV1 model will compete with vehicles like the Renault 5 E-Tech.

A new electric model is being prepared by the South Korean firm. The Renault 5 E-Tech, Peugeot e-208, and Opel Corsa Electric are electric vehicles that this subcompact class car will compete with. According to Kia, their upcoming model will utilize the same 400-volt E-GMP architecture as the EV2 electric crossover and will be the first software-defined car in this market.

While we don’t yet have official confirmation, we can probably expect the new model to be called the EV1. Additionally, it is anticipated that the new city car would be equipped with the same 42.2 kWh and 61 kWh batteries, as it will share its architecture with the EV2 model. As a result, the potential future EV1 range might be around 480 kilometers.

There is a lack of information regarding the new electric city automobile. Nonetheless, we are aware that by 2030, Kia will have introduced fourteen electric vehicles worldwide, including the forthcoming EV1.

There will be a mix of passenger cars, SUVs, and commercial vehicles among these.

In 2029, Kia will introduce a new electric SUV in addition to their new city car that will debut next year. The company has stated that this will be their new electric vehicle flagship model, although they have remained mum on details regarding the vehicle thus far.

Furthermore, Kia has declared the launch of a new platform that will supersede the present E-GMP design. A 40 percent improvement in battery capacity and a 9 percent improvement in electric motor power are promised by the next electric car platform.

A new generation of batteries, with a 30% simplified composition and a 15% better energy density than present batteries, will be able to be installed on the platform.

Lastly, a new multimedia system will be built on top of a new software structure that Kia is currently working on.

When a tire company is declared the Official Race Tire of a one-make championship, the argument here is simple. All drivers in the grid, in all cars, every round, have confidence in that tire to go to the extreme. No cover behind the differences in setups, no other compound options. The tire either provides uniform grip, heat, and predictability to 17 teams, 58 drivers, and 44 cars or not. In the case of the 2026 Lotus Cup China season, that role is assigned to Giti Tire and its GitiCompete GTR1 high performance tires, which will be fitted to all Lotus Emira Cup cars in a five round calendar between April and December 2026. It is also the most recent twist in a motorsport tale that traces back to some of the toughest racing grounds in the world, in the case of Giti.

The Lotus Cup China: What the Championship Is and Why It Matters

centersThe Lotus Cup China is a one-make racing series based on the Lotus Emira Cup race car, the racing variant of the Emira, the final internal-combustion-engined two-door sports car in the current Lotus line. The hosts of the series are the Lotus sports cars and Mitime Group, and it is run by Beijing Mitime Sports Industry Investment Company. It employs a controlled, specification-based format in which all the cars in the grid are made identically ready, which is exactly what makes it such a challenging environment as a tire supplier. When all the cars are powered in the same way, have the same chassis, and are limited to the same setup, then the differences in performance between drivers are reduced to their capability, their race strategy, and, more importantly, their knowledge and familiarity with the tire beneath them.

The 2026 season opens at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia on 3 to 5 April, a deliberate statement of intent. The Lotus Cup China used Sepang as its 2025 season finale, and has now repositioned the Malaysian circuit as its 2026 season opener, expanding its international footprint as the championship grows. The 2026 grid stands at 17 teams and 58 drivers with 44 car entries, making it one of the most competitively populated running of the championship to date.

Sepang International Circuit: Why This Venue Tests Every Tire

The Petronas Sepang International Circuit is unkind to any tire or driver. The circuit, which was designed by German circuit architect Hermann Tilke, and opened in March 1999, is 5.543 km long and hosted the Formula One Malaysian Grand Prix between 1999 and 2017, and the MotoGP Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix. It features long, high-speed straights, sweeping high-speed corners, a tight hairpin complex, and the Malaysian tropical climate that is relentlessly hot and wet, all of which add up to conditions that put extraordinary thermal and mechanical strain on the tires in each and every session.

Sepang has one of the most unpredictable climates in the motorsport calendar. The temperatures on the circuit face are habitually greater than 50 degrees Celsius during the dry season, and thunderstorms can alter the circumstances in a matter of minutes. In the case of a slick tire that has no tread grooves to direct the water, the difference between the optimum operating temperature and overheating is lower than in temperate European weather. Controlling tire temperature accumulation within a stint, especially in a single-vehicle championship, is a requirement that requires a compound that generates heat faster and, at the same time, dissipates it uniformly to prevent degradation. This is precisely the kind of real-world stress data that Giti engineers collect at every race event, and precisely why Sepang is such a valuable opening venue for the championship’s tire partner.

The GitiCompete GTR1: The Tire at the Centre of It All

The GitiCompete GTR1 is a special motorsport slick tire made by Giti designed to be specifically used in closed-circuit motorsport. The tire is the same one Giti Tire Motorsport by WS Racing used throughout the Nürburgring Nordschleife during several seasons of the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie and the 24-Hour race, which could not be more foreign to Sepang in terms of climate, track character and thermal cycling. It is that breadth of demonstrated performance in conditions that are fundamentally different that gives the GTR1 its plausibility as a single-make championship tire.

In the case of the Lotus Cup China 2026, the GTR1 will be provided in two dimensions: 240/650 R18 on the front axle and 300/650 R18 on the rear. This staggered fitment indicates the rear-wheel-drive design of the Emira Cup car and the resulting disparity in the mechanical load between the front and rear tires during acceleration, braking, and cornering. The rear tire is wider, and has a greater contact patch area to work with when under power; the front is limited to maintaining a balance between steering response and braking stability.

The GTR1’s engineering centres on four performance pillars that are particularly relevant in a spec racing environment. The advanced compound and optimized contact patch geometry are designed to deliver maximum mechanical grip through high-speed corners and under hard braking, the two moments when a driver either gains or loses ground against an equally matched car. The thermal management of the tire enables it to maintain consistent performance over multiple laps, instead of spiking grip during the first lap and wearing out quickly, like in a spec series, which puts the tire wranglers and tire-wastes in different categories. The feedback provided by steering, using the sidewall structure, allows drivers to receive accurate information on the level of grip, which is crucial when competitors are within a fraction of a second per lap of each other. The stability of the compound also ensures that there is no variation in the performance window over a complete stint of a race, and all drivers on the grid have the same set of tools to play with.

A Motorsport Journey That Began on the Green Hell

The answer to why Giti Tire is more than a branding exercise to participate in the Lotus Cup China can be understood by looking back into the history of the company in motorsport, as the GTR1 tire that will be fitted to all cars in the Emira Cup at Sepang was designed and tested over years of racing in one of the most hostile environments of the motorsport world.

Its first appearance was at the Nürburgring 24-Hour race in 2017 when Giti Tire entered one car in its initial season and won second place in the SP8 category. It made a comeback in 2018, bringing along two cars and resumed its activities at the most challenging endurance circuit in the world. The 170-corner, 20.8 km historic racing circuit, the Nürburgring Nordschleife, or the Green Hell, features dense forest and changes in weather so fast that even one lap can start in sunshine and finish in fog. To a tire developer, it is the ultimate test of compound life, thermal control, wet weather transition capability, and mechanical integrity when subjected to constant mechanical load.

As of 2019, Giti had competed four times in the 24-Hour race. In the same year, the Giti Tire Motorsport by WS Racing Girls Only: Ready to Rock the Green Hell all-female project by the company was the first all-female crew, drivers, engineers, mechanics, and management included, to race at the Nurburgring 24-Hour. The team had entered in a Volkswagen Golf GTI and had made it despite a disastrous engine breakdown that took 14 hours of work to get over the finish line, a feat that had attracted massive international media attention. In Giti 2019 entry, all of the cars were powered by the GitiCompete GGR1.

The culmination of the progress that the Girls Only project had been making was in the next season. The all-female group now racing in an Audi R8 LMS GT4 as an SP8 category car won their first class at the Nürburgring 24-Hour. Carrie Schreiner set the car on pole position in the category with a lap time of 9:19.646 which she had set in wet conditions and Célia Martin set the fastest lap by the team at 9:11.605 minutes. The team managed to complete 52 laps in the course of the race weekend that featured a 14-hour delay caused by fog making it the shortest ever 24-Hour in the history of the event. The class win was a decisive victory with 121 cars taking the start and 99 completing one of the most difficult versions of the race.

Giti’s presence at the Nürburgring has continued to grow each year. In 2024 the team entered an unprecedented five BMW race cars at the 24-Hour, a BMW M4 GT4 for the ‘Girls Only’ project, a second BMW M4 GT4 in the SP8T class, two BMW 330i cars and a BMW 125i in the production-based VT2-R+4WD group. The ‘Girls Only’ car secured a third-place class finish, while a BMW 330i also achieved a class podium. In 2025, Giti entered two cars simultaneously at the 24-Hour, collecting all four vehicles across the finish line, a feat of reliability and consistency in race conditions that lasted 24 continuous hours across one of the world’s most demanding circuits. The NLS season finale that year also saw Giti close out the campaign with all three entered vehicles finishing.

Beyond Endurance: Speed Records and EV Frontiers

Giti’s motorsport program is not limited to endurance racing in Europe. In 2025, the company’s tire technology reached a fundamentally different kind of performance boundary. On 8 August 2025, the BYD YANGWANG U9X electric hypercar reached a new EV land speed record of 472.41 km/h at the German Automotive Testing Papenburg proving grounds, powered by Giti-provided GitiSport e.GGR2 Pro tires, a tire pattern that was created in close cooperation with the YANGWANG engineering team. This record was not to last long. The identical hypercar was reintroduced on 14 September 2025 into the ATP grounds again with a new set of GitiSport e. German racing tire producer GTR2 Pro and German track guru Marc Basseng drove the YANGWANG U9X to a new world record land speed of 496.22 km/h, beating the previous world record of that type set by the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ in August 2019. Giti engineers were on hand in the test to see that the tires were ready and in the best shape to attempt it.

The engineering demands of a tire designed for a production car travelling at nearly 500 km/h are categorically different from those of an endurance slick designed for the Nürburgring. At those speeds, centrifugal forces on the tire structure are extreme, compound temperature management becomes critical within milliseconds, and the contact patch must maintain aerodynamic stability under conditions that no road tire will ever experience. The fact that the GitiSport e.GTR2 Pro achieved the record twice within six weeks is a validation of the development process, the production precision, and the compound engineering behind Giti’shigh-performance passenger car tires programme.

These achievements across endurance racing and land speed records are not separate from each other in Giti’s engineering philosophy, they are connected. Each discipline generates data and insights that inform the others. The thermal management principles refined through hundreds of Nürburgring laps apply to compound development at extreme speeds. The structural integrity requirements of a high-load endurance tire inform the belt and casing architecture of a performance slick for a spec series like the Lotus Cup China.

How Motorsport Feeds Road Tire Development

The connection between what happens on a race circuit and what ends up in a road tire is direct at Giti, and it is measurable. Every race weekend generates data on tire wear patterns across changing temperatures, grip levels under sustained high-speed load, thermal cycling characteristics through repeated braking zones, and compound behaviour as fuel loads change during a stint. This information feeds directly into Giti’s R&D processes at its European Development Centre in Hannover, Germany, and its global facilities in China, Indonesia, and the USA.

The GitiSportS2+ ultra-high-performance summer tire, which earned an ‘exemplary’ rating and fourth place overall from AutoBild’s 2026 Summer Tyre Test from a field of 50 tires, carries compound and structural technologies that are traceable to lessons from the Nürburgring programme. The wet braking improvements and high-speed stability characteristics of that tire reflect the same engineering disciplines that make the GTR1 competitive at Sepang. Similarly, the AdvanZtech 2.0 technology platform that underlies all of Giti’s new passenger car and SUV tires, covering safety and grip, control and handling, endurance, and efficiency, is built on a foundation of real-world validation that motorsport accelerates significantly.

When a driver pushes a Lotus Emira Cup car through Sepang’s Turn 5 and 6 high-speed complex at racing speed, the data being generated, lateral G-force distribution across the contact patch, heat build-up in the sidewall, compound deformation and recovery, informs the next generation of Giti’s road tires in ways that no laboratory simulation can fully replicate. That is the core argument for motorsport involvement as a development tool, and it is the reason that Giti’s presence in events from the Nürburgring 24-Hour to the Lotus Cup China represents a coherent engineering strategy, not just a marketing exercise.

The 2026 Lotus Cup China Season Schedule

Frequently Asked Questions About Giti Tire and the Lotus Cup China 2026

What tire is being used in the Lotus Cup China 2026?

Every car in the 2026 Lotus Cup China season runs on the GitiCompete GTR1, Giti Tire’s dedicated motorsport slick tire. The GTR1 is supplied in sizes 240/650R18 for the front and 300/650R18 for the rear of the Lotus Emira Cup race car.

What is the Lotus Cup China?

The Lotus Cup China is a single-make racing series featuring the Lotus Emira Cup race car, hosted by Lotus sports cars and the Mitime Group. Because every car on the grid runs identical mechanical specifications, the series is a pure test of driver skill and tire management. The 2026 season spans five rounds from April to December, with 17 teams, 58 drivers, and 44 car entries.

What is the GitiCompete GTR1?

The GitiCompete GTR1 is Giti Tire’s purpose-built motorsport slick tire, used in closed-circuit competition events around the world. It has been the tire of choice for the Giti Tire Motorsport by WS Racing team at the Nürburgring 24-Hour and NLS endurance series, as well as in multiple other racing programmes across Asia and Europe.

What is Giti Tire’s history in motorsport?

Giti Tire debuted at the Nürburgring 24-Hour in 2017 and has participated every year since. Highlights include fielding the first fully all-female team to compete at the Nürburgring 24-Hour in 2019, securing a class victory with the ‘Girls Only’ Audi R8 LMS GT4 crew, achieving four class podiums in 2020, fielding an unprecedented five cars at the 2024 24-Hour, and entering two cars simultaneously in the 2025 edition. Beyond endurance racing, Giti tires powered the YANGWANG U9X to the production-car land speed world record of 496.22 km/h in September 2025.

How does motorsport involvement benefit Giti’s road tires?

Race events generate thermal, structural, and compound performance data under conditions that exceed what road use or laboratory testing can replicate. Wear patterns, heat cycling, grip levels under sustained load, and wet-dry transition behavior all feed into Giti’s R&D processes at its development centers in Hannover, Germany and globally, directly informing the compound and structural engineering of its passenger car and SUV tires.

How many rounds does the 2026 Lotus Cup China season cover?

The 2026 Lotus Cup China season spans five rounds, beginning at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia on 3 to 5 April and concluding at the Zhuhai International Circuit in China on 18 to 20 December. The other rounds take place at the Shanghai, Ningbo, and Wuhan international circuits.

The Bottom Line

Being named the Official Race Tire of a single-make championship is the most transparent validation a tire company can pursue in motorsport. There are no variables to hide behind, no setup differences that make one manufacturer’s product look better than another. Every driver runs the same car, on the same tire, at the same track. The GTR1 earns its place at Sepang, Shanghai, Ningbo, Wuhan, and Zhuhai by delivering consistent grip, heat management, and predictability across a grid of 58 drivers, the same qualities that Giti has been developing and proving at the Nürburgring since 2017, across 24-hour endurance races, at land speed record attempts in Germany, and through the compound engineering programmes that ultimately reach the road tires that everyday drivers fit to their cars.

The Lotus Cup China 2026 season is both a competition and a laboratory. Giti’s presence as the Official Tire partner connects a prestigious Asian single-make championship to a decade of motorsport development that has been tested on some of the most demanding circuits and conditions in the world. For the 58 drivers who will compete across these five rounds, that pedigree matters every time they brake late into Turn 1 at Sepang.

Nissan is making another go round with the X-terra and new information released at the 2026 New York International Auto Show is indicating an expanded powertrain strategy than initially indicated. The reintroduced SUV, now projected to come in 2028, now seems to be heading towards two mechanical choices, with an internal combustion model coming first, followed by a hybrid model added to the lineup.

Ponz Pandikuthira, senior vice president and chief product and planning officer for Nissan Americas, told Car and Driver the project keeps a pure gasoline variant in development. “There will be a pure ICE,” he said. He then narrowed the layout further. “If we do ICE only, it will be V6, it won’t be a four-cylinder turbo.”

2027 Nissan Xterra

Earlier talk had linked the third generation X-terra to an EV-only path, with production tied to Nissan’s Canton, Mississippi, plant from 2028. Those plans changed after the federal EV tax incentive disappeared last year. The body-on-frame SUV then shifted toward an electrified route built around combustion support rather than full battery propulsion.

A hybrid version is still part of the program, though Nissan has not fixed the timing. Pandikuthira described the sequence in plain terms. “Then we can build a hybrid off that.” He added, “What does that hybrid execution look like when it debuts? How many months after the ICE version? Still a work in progress at this point.”

One likely mechanical link sits with the pickup side of the business. Nissan already offers a 3.8 liter V6 in the Frontier, and the next X-terra is expected to share architecture with the next Frontier generation. The report notes a V6 route instead of the turbocharged four-cylinder formula used by Toyota rivals. Ford also enters the comparison, since the 3.0 liter EcoBoost in higher Bronco grades was mentioned as a reference point.

2027 Nissan Xterra

Design direction came up too. Pandikuthira said buyers should expect “a lot of those very tough, in-your-face design cues.” He had recently seen the vehicle in Japan as a full foam mockup, which suggests the visual program has already moved beyond sketches.

Nissan needs traction in North America. During the first quarter, Nissan Group deliveries in the US fell 7.5% to 247k units. More than 234k of those came from Nissan itself, where the decline reached 7.7%.

2027 Nissan Xterra

Passenger cars continue to weaken. Maxima has already left the lineup. Sentra is still building volume, or facing pressure after a 34.5% sales drop. Versa and Altima are also losing ground.

Major road crashes in Macon, GA, give rise to legal implications that extend beyond repair bills and medical bills. In the state of Georgia, a serious accident immediately raises issues of fault, insurance, and compensation. Law enforcement reports, accident reconstructions, and insurance claims are typically filed shortly after the accident, and each plays a role in how the case will be resolved.

Roads in Macon, GA, carry constant traffic, and serious crashes can quickly develop into complex legal situations. Many individuals seek guidance from an auto accident injury attorney in Macon, GA, to better understand how fault is determined and how compensation claims are pursued.

Legal Responsibility Begins With Proving Negligence

Determining fault and responsibility is often the first step in an investigation of a serious accident. The majority of accident claims in Macon, GA, are negligence claims. That means a driver did not exercise reasonable care while driving, and as a result, injured another person. Motorists have a duty to obey traffic laws, remain attentive and drive safely. If they do not and are in an accident, they may be negligent.

Negligence will typically be determined by the court with four elements: duty, breach, causation, and damages.

Examples of negligence include speeding, texting, disobeying traffic signs and tailgating, and evidence to prove negligence can include police evidence and witness statements.

Georgia’s Comparative Fault Rule and Why It Matters

Liability in car accidents can be complicated by multiple factors. In Georgia, this is dealt with by a rule called modified comparative negligence, which permits the apportionment of fault.

This rule allows an injured party to collect damages even if they were partially at fault for the wreck, provided their fault is less than half of the total. If a person is found to be fifty percent or more at fault, they have no right to sue the other driver. Damages are also reduced according to the level of fault, which is why insurance companies scrutinise accident reports.

Insurance Claims After a Serious Collision

Before most car accidents are litigated, they are first resolved through insurance. The at-fault driver’s insurance company is usually responsible for covering the damages. Once a claim is submitted, the insurer reviews accident reports, witness statements, medical reports and damage reports to establish what happened. If the accident caused severe injuries, the claim may include medical care and treatment at home. The insurance company may dispute the extent of injuries and some medical costs.

Other common issues may appear during negotiations. These include:

Disputes about who caused the accident.

Delays in processing the claim.

Early settlement offers that do not fully reflect the cost of injuries.

For accident victims in Macon, GA, the challenge of dealing with insurance companies is one of the most stressful aspects of the recovery process. In the end, insurance companies are in the business of making profits.

Documentation, medical evidence, and knowledge of legal rights are all important to prevent undervaluing a claim. What Compensation May Be Available

What Compensation May Be Available

Serious car accidents can have an impact on almost every aspect of life. Under Georgia law, a victim of an accident can request compensation for economic and non-economic losses resulting from the accident.

Economic Damages

Economic damages are the financial losses suffered in a crash. Many of these losses can be backed up with medical bills, receipts, and pay stubs.

These can include medical bills for medical care, surgery, rehabilitation, and prescription drugs. Other expenses may include lost income if the injury prevents a person from earning income. This often includes property damage and auto repair bills.

Non-Economic Damages

Other damages are difficult to quantify in terms of bills and receipts. Non-economic damages include the personal consequences of an injury.

These types of damages include pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment, disability, and loss of consortium. Severe injuries can cause permanent disability, which is taken into account by courts and insurance providers when awarding damages.

When a Personal Injury Lawsuit May Become Necessary

Some car accident claims are resolved by insurance companies but some proceed if a satisfactory settlement cannot be reached. In these cases, personal injury lawsuits can be filed to have the court examine the evidence and decide who is at fault.

Witnesses, expert testimony, and evidence of injuries and damages may be presented in court. Under Georgia law, a claim must usually be filed within two years of the accident, or an injured party will miss the opportunity to seek compensation.

Wrap Up!

A serious car accident is about more than just injuries and property damage. It raises questions of negligence and liability, insurance issues, and the right to compensation under Georgia laws. Every aspect of the claims process relies on evidence, documentation, and knowledge of the legal processes.

Legal advice can ensure the rights of those with severe injuries in Macon, GA. An auto accident injury attorney in Macon, GA, can help clarify legal concerns and deal with the legal obligations after a serious accident.

Porsche has just announced the availability of one of its newest and rarest variants based on its 992-generation GT3 Touring. Technically, the new car is still very similar to the usual offerings from the existing catalog of Porsche. The 2027 911 GT3 90 F. A. was unveiled on December 11, 2025, and designed as an homage to Ferdinand Alexander Porsche in honor of his 90th birthday.

Production will stop at 90 examples, but one is no longer part of that number for buyers. Porsche has already handed over the first car to Mark, the youngest son of Ferdinand Alexander, leaving 89 units for customers once order books open at the start of April.

<img decoding="async" width="2560" height="1440" src="https://www.automotorblog.com/storage/2026/03/Porsche-911-GT3-90-F.A.-12.jpg" alt="Porsche 911 GT3 90 F.A.
Under the rear section, nothing changes mechanically. Compared with the stock GT3, the engine remains basically unchanged; we are dealing here with a naturally-aspirated boxer engine with a whopping 501 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque.

What separates this version begins with paint. Porsche developed a dedicated metallic shade named F. A. Green is a finish unavailable elsewhere in the brand’s lineup. The tone traces back to Oak Green metallic and also references the G-body 911 associated with F. A. Porsche during the 1980s.

<img decoding="async" width="2400" height="1350" src="https://www.automotorblog.com/storage/2026/03/Porsche-911-GT3-90-F.A.-10.jpg" alt="Porsche 911 GT3 90 F.A.
Against that green surface sit Satin Black Sport Classic wheels, a combination not usually seen on a GT3 Touring. Each center-lock hub carries a Porsche crest using the 1963 design, while the rear decklid grille receives a gold plaque bearing the 90 F. A. Porsche emblem.

The interior takes a different route entirely. Porsche Sonderwunsch specified grid-weave fabric across the seat centers, then extended the same material to the glove compartment and the front trunk mat. That textile appears in five colors: black, green, truffle brown, cream, and Bordeaux red. Around it, limestone stitching and Truffle Brown Club leather shape most visible surfaces.

<img decoding="async" width="2400" height="1356" src="https://www.automotorblog.com/storage/2026/03/Porsche-911-GT3-90-F.A.-7.jpg" alt="Porsche 911 GT3 90 F.A.
A few details are unusually specific. The Sport Chrono clock was redesigned to resemble the Chronograph 1 once created for F. A. Porsche, and the shift lever now uses open-pore walnut. On the dashboard trim, there is a gold plaque showing the silhouette of the original 911, a one-of-90 marking, and a reproduction of F. A. Porsche’s signature.

As for prices, the 911 GT3 90 F.A. costs no less than $387,000, before fees or taxes. Buyers are also invited to Zell am See for what Porsche calls a “unique product consultation” with Sonderwunsch before production begins in mid-2026.

The watch features a black hypoallergenic titanium case, may be ordered with either a black titanium bracelet or a leather strap, and carries laser engravings beneath the caseback for the matching production number and F.A.’s signature. Super-LumiNova treatment gives the hands and indices an aged appearance, while the initials of F. A. Porsche replaced the usual logo at 3 o’clock.

Ford has added another visual package to the European Ford Mustang Mach-E lineup, this time bringing the California Special badge to the GT version without altering its performance figures. The idea is not new inside Ford history—California Special models first appeared in 1968, originally created to acknowledge dealers in the Golden State who helped early Mustang sales surge—but now that identity is being attached to the electric SUV sold across selected European markets.

Ford Mustang Mach-E GT California Special

The formula stays cosmetic rather than mechanical. Buyers can choose any exterior color, then layer it with Rave Blue accents, a hood stripe carrying California Special lettering, and graphic sun-line detailing in grey and black inspired by the California coastline. Carbonized Gray 20-inch wheels are also part of the package, each marked with GT/CS branding, while the expected badges are distributed around the bodywork.

Inside, Ford changes tone through trim rather than architecture. The cabin adopts what the company calls a Navy Pier treatment, using material finished with reflective blue and silver striping.

Ford Mustang Mach-E GT California Special

The ActiveX trim variant is available at 46,000 euros, or the equivalent of $54,000 in the US. With this trim added to the lineup, the company hopes that it will maintain momentum, because, despite steady acceptance, the Mach-E has not reached the sales level that the company expected. This means that around 90,000 units have been sold across Europe since its launch. This might be showing a consistent demand; however, it may not be enough for Ford to satisfy internal expectations.

The California Special itself does not alter output or introduce new performance calibration. Instead, the broader Mach-E family receives practical updates elsewhere. Premium Extended Range variants now benefit from lower rolling resistance tires, and that translates into modest range gains depending on drivetrain. All-wheel-drive versions add three miles (five km), bringing their total to 345 miles (555 km). Rear-wheel-drive versions improve by nine miles (15 km), reaching 382 miles (615 km).

Ford Mustang Mach-E GT California Special

There is another change, less visible but arguably more useful in daily driving. Clear Exit Assist now becomes standard throughout the range. The system is set up to watch and alert whenever cyclists, pedestrians, or scooters are within range or approaching from behind. It also warns all passengers before a door opens in their path, which reduces urban incidents in heavy traffic.

Ford also expands the paint chart beyond the California Special package itself. Race Red and Adriatic Blue-Green are now available across the wider Mach-E family, regardless of trim.

That means the GT California Special arrives less as a reinvention and more as a carefully styled addition—one that leans on heritage, adds some distinct detail, and arrives alongside small but meaningful improvements for the full electric range.

Built by Experience. Designed to Change the Category.

There are products that start from an idea.
And then there are products that start from experience.

Carsunshade.com belongs firmly in the second group.

Developed by the team behind Magnelex—one of the most recognized names in the windshield sunshade category—this platform wasn’t created to follow the market. It was built to correct it.

Years of designing, testing, and refining windshield sunshade products led to a simple realization:

Most solutions were built around convenience, not precision.

Carsunshade.com is what happens when that balance is reversed.

Why Windshield Sunshade Protection Matters More Than Most Drivers Realize

Most people associate a windshield sunshade with comfort.

A cooler seat.
A steering wheel you can actually touch.

But the role of a windshield sunshade goes far beyond that.

When a vehicle is parked under direct sunlight, solar radiation enters primarily through the windshield. Interior surfaces absorb that energy, and heat begins to build inside the cabin.

Without a proper windshield sunshade, that process continues uninterrupted.

Over time, this leads to:

gradual fading of interior materials

increased stress on electronics

long-term degradation of surfaces exposed to UV

It doesn’t happen all at once.
It happens every day.

A well-designed windshield sunshade interrupts that cycle.

The Windshield Sunshade Market — Built on Approximation

For something so widely used, the windshield sunshade market has seen surprisingly little evolution.

Most products still follow the same formula.

This “one-size-fits-most” approach has defined the category for years.

And while it works at a basic level, it introduces a consistent problem:

fitment.

A generic windshield sunshade rarely aligns perfectly with the actual shape of the windshield. Small gaps remain around the edges. Light enters. Heat follows.

That’s the limitation of approximation.

And it’s where most windshield sunshade products quietly underperform.

Engineered for Performance — Built with Proven Magnelex Quality

What ultimately defines a windshield sunshade isn’t how it looks when you first open it.

It’s how it performs day after day, under real conditions—direct sunlight, repeated use, constant folding, and the kind of heat that pushes materials to their limits.

This is where Carsunshade.com draws directly from the experience behind Magnelex.

Every windshield sunshade offered through the platform is built using the same core principles that shaped Magnelex into a trusted name in the category—starting with material integrity.

At the center of that is a double-layer 240T polyester construction.

Not for the sake of specification, but for what it delivers in practice.

A denser structure that reflects heat more effectively.
A tighter weave that reduces light penetration.
A material that holds its form, even after repeated use.

Over time, these details make a visible difference.

The sunshade doesn’t lose its shape.
It doesn’t become inconsistent.
It continues to perform the way it was designed to.

That level of durability isn’t incidental.

It’s the result of years spent understanding how a windshield sunshade actually behaves inside a real vehicle—not in theory, but in everyday use.

Carsunshade.com builds on that foundation, carrying forward a standard of quality that has already been tested, refined, and proven where it matters most.

Carsunshade.com — A Precision Approach to Windshield Sunshades

What sets Carsunshade.com apart is not just quality—it’s direction.

Instead of designing a windshield sunshade and adapting it to multiple vehicles, the platform approaches the problem from the opposite side:

It starts with the vehicle.

Each windshield sunshade is designed with specific vehicle geometry in mind, supported by a growing fitment database that allows for more accurate alignment.

That shift changes how a windshield sunshade performs.

Coverage becomes more complete.
Light entry is reduced.
Performance becomes more consistent across different vehicles.

A windshield sunshade is no longer something you “try and adjust.”

It becomes something that simply fits.

A Better Experience, From Selection to Daily Use

Carsunshade.com also improves something that is often overlooked:

The experience of choosing the right windshield sunshade.

Instead of comparing sizes or guessing between options, the process is simplified. Drivers are guided toward solutions designed specifically for their vehicle.

That clarity matters.

Because the effectiveness of a windshield sunshade doesn’t start inside the car—it starts with choosing the right one.

And once installed, that difference becomes obvious.

Less adjustment.
Better coverage.
More consistent results.

Where the Windshield Sunshade Category Is Headed

For years, the windshield sunshade category was defined by convenience.

Now, it’s beginning to shift toward precision.

Carsunshade.com is part of that shift.

Not by changing what a windshield sunshade is—but by improving how it works.

And in doing so, it sets a new expectation: that a windshield sunshade should fit the vehicle it protects.

Final Thought

A windshield sunshade has always been a simple tool.

But simplicity doesn’t mean it should be approximate.

When designed correctly, a windshield sunshade becomes one of the most effective ways to protect a vehicle’s interior from heat and UV exposure.

Carsunshade.com is built on that idea.

Business expansion is a very vital business decision that focuses on fleet expansion, as businesses need to deliver goods, services, or people via vehicles. It can open new markets, enhance service levels, and increase revenue, yet it carries significant financial, operational, and strategic risks. It needs a close exercise in demand analysis, financial analysis, technology analysis, and risk analysis to know when to expand your fleet and how to do it in a wise way. This paper will take us through the main questions, measurements, and actions that can guide managers in determining whether it is high time to put vehicles in their line of business.

1. Getting to Know Your Growth Drivers

You must know the reasons you believe you need to expand by means of a new truck or van. Common drivers include:

Customer Demand Surge: A gradual increase in demand that can not be met by the present vehicles without overloading the delivery schedules.

Market Expansions: Expansion into new geographic territories or provision of new services that the available fleet capacity cannot cater to.

Regulatory or Compliance Needs: new regulations, which demand certain kinds of vehicles (e.g., low-emission vans) / additional gear.

Competitive Pressure: Competitors who have more capacity may provide faster or cheaper services.

Capturing such drivers assists you in measuring the opportunity and in making it strategic.

2. Evaluation of Present Capacity and Usage

One of the important metrics is fleet utilization. When your vehicles are already running at their full capacity of 100 percent, then the space to add new services is minimal. Start by collecting data on:

Load Factor: This is the average percentage of space occupied by cargo.

Vehicle Hour: Minutes or hours taken by the vehicle that is actively on versus when it is idling.

Geographic Coverage: Can the existing routes support more stops.

When the utilization rate is high (generally more than 80 – 85%), it means that you are running close to capacity. The growth of the fleet under such circumstances can provide a buffer, which enhances a higher level of reliability and becomes a source of additional revenue.

3. Financial Health Check

The only way growth can be sustained is when you can afford it. The following are the most important areas to consider:

3.1 The Cash Flow

The cash flow and working capital section will include details regarding the current working capital and cash flows.

The introduction of vehicles comes with initial expenses such as vehicle purchase or lease, insurance, and repairs, and with the continuity costs. Evaluate your cash flow so that you are in a position to meet these without compromising the day to day activities.

3.2 Return on Investment (ROI)

Determine the anticipated ROI of every new vehicle. Factor in:

Revenue Growth: More contracts or increased prices.

Cost Savings: Less overtime, fewer breakdowns, and more effective routes.

Depreciation and Tax Implications: Depreciation schedules may offer tax advantages but lower the asset value as time goes by.

The general rule here is to consider an ROI that would be 3-5 years of fleet purchase. In case the payback period is prolonged, take the option of leasing or a shared fleet.

3.3 Financing Options

Investigate financing sources that match your cash flow. Leasing has the ability to save initial expenses and provide the option of changing vehicles after every several years. Purchase models are inflexible, as they entail greater capital investments. Consider interest rates, terms of leasing, and ownership benefits.

4. Technological Readiness

The new fleets are no longer about cars and trucks but about being connected, being based on data, and being automated. Make sure that the technology stack you already have can be scaled before expanding:

Telematics and GPS’s: Make sure you have the bandwidth to support and add new devices, and make sure your software is capable of supporting higher data levels.

Fleet Management Software: The software must have the capacity to service more vehicles, drivers, and routes without affecting performance.

Driver Safety and Training Systems: The more the cars, the more drivers. Inquire whether you have the capacity to support a larger fleet through your training programs and safety measures.

It is also advisable to implement a single digital platform at an early stage to minimize integration pain in the future.

5. Operational Capacity

An addition of vehicles includes a complication addition. Determine the capability of your operations team to deal with:

Maintenance Scheduling: More preventive maintenance and repair coordination of vehicles is needed.

Driver Management: If you require extra drivers or more hours per driver, you will have to make sure you comply with labor rules.

Dispatch Coordination: Dispatch systems have to be able to accommodate more route planning and real-time corrections.

One of these pitfalls is to underestimate the administrative burden. Do a workload analysis, and see whether you should employ more workers or outsource some of your operations.

6. Risk Assessment and Risk Mitigation

Any expansion is risky. Determine possible vulnerabilities and develop mitigation measures:

6.1 Market Risk

Projected returns can be eroded by sudden changes in demand, fuel prices, or disruptions in a supply chain. Create a sensitivity analysis of your financial model in order to determine the impacts of variation on profitability.

6.2 Operational Risk

Carrying excess passengers in the driver’s seat or overloading the driver may lead to an increase in risk of accidents. Always uphold high safety levels and constant training so that the rates of accidents are low.

6.3 Regulatory Risk

Vehicle standards evolve. Always be on the offensive and keep track of future regulations (e.g., emission standards) so you can avoid an expensive retrofit or penalty.

An acceptable risk-management strategy will confirm to the stakeholders that expansion is not only opportunistic but also prudent.

7. Phased Expansion Strategy

Instead of a big-bang strategy, look at gradual expansion:

Pilot Phase: Add a vehicle or two and track performance metrics.

Evaluation Phase: Compare actual data to projections. Modify routes, schedules, and staffing.

Full Rollout: Scale up after the pilot has been proven to be viable and processes are streamlined.

By taking a gradual process, exposure to capital is minimized and it makes it possible to learn through trial and error.

8. Sustainability Considerations

Fleet decisions are becoming more environmentally friendly. When you are going to add new vehicles, take into account:

Electric or Hybrid Choices: A variety of areas have a program of low-emission fleets.

Fuel Economy: Modern cars tend to have superior mileage, which lowers the fuel expenses in the long run.

Carbon Offsetting Programs: Match the increase in the number of vehicles with a commitment to offset programs to continue to have a low carbon footprint.

Eco-friendly customers and building a better brand image can also be achieved through sustainable fleet development.

9. Case Study: A Midsize Delivery Company

Scenario: A local courier company having 30 vans, recorded a growth in deliveries of 12 percent per year. The rate of on-time delivery, however, dropped to 88 percent, as compared to 94 percent, and there was an increase in customer complaints.

Analysis: Utilization was at 86% which shows that the fleet was close to capacity. Monetary estimates indicated a 4-year payback of leasing two more vans and a tax credit for electric models.

Action: The company tested two electric cargo vans in a traffic-prone location. Six months later, on-time delivery had reached 92%, and the customer satisfaction was 9 percent higher. They then included another eight electric vans to make the total 40 in size and realized a 5-year ROI.

Lesson: With a sustainability focus and a data-based and gradual approach, capacity crunches can be transformed into opportunities.

10. Bottom Line: When to Expand

Expansion of a fleet is the right time when:

Imbalances: Clear, measurable imbalances between load factor and capacity exist.

Funds Its Backing: Cash flow, ROI, and financing are good.

Technology and Operational Scales: You have the capability to service more vehicles without quality being compromised.

Risk is Managed: You have market, operational, and regulatory contingency plans.

Sustainability Aligning Goals: Expansion reinforces and does not compromise environmental and brand commitments.

When your organization fits this requirement, it is possible as well as an imperative to expand your fleet. Growth is a wise decision that you can make to achieve the next level of service, new sources of income, and ensure the further success of your company.

Ferrari’s Purosangue is already a strange object in the market, and not in a bad way. It is a high-riding machine with a naturally aspirated V12, numbers that embarrass many lower cars, and styling that does not really need help to stand out. Even so, the tuning world never leaves these things alone for long. This latest example comes from DarwinPro Aero, which has prepared a visual package for the Prancing Horse crossover while apparently leaving the mechanical side alone.

That part matters, actually. Ferrari may still be working toward a hotter version of the Purosangue, with a report claiming production could begin in the second half of the year. So anyone wanting a more aggressive take on the model has two roads in front of them: wait for Maranello, or go aftermarket now. DarwinPro Aero is clearly speaking to the second group.

Ferrari Purosangue by DarwinPro Aero

The company calls the package the IMP Design Carbon Fiber Soft Kit. It does not rewrite the entire car, but it does add enough pieces to alter the look from several angles. The list includes a front aero treatment, extended side skirts, a new diffuser at the rear, and a roof wing said to be functional. It is a relatively focused set of changes. Not small, exactly, though not the sort of conversion that turns the Purosangue into something unrecognizable either.

The example shown by the tuner wears gray paint and mixes in black details across the body. There also appear to be exposed carbon-fiber elements, which is more or less expected with a package presented this way. Ferrari’s usual badges remain in place at the nose and on the fenders, and the SUV rides on five-spoke alloy wheels that look fairly restrained compared with the rest of the treatment. Behind them sit yellow brake calipers, which break up the darker theme nicely.

Ferrari Purosangue by DarwinPro Aero

And no, there is no indication here that DarwinPro Aero has gone after the engine. That is worth stressing because the standard Purosangue hardly arrives underpowered. In factory form, it reaches 62 mph (100 kph) in 3.3 seconds, continues to 217 mph (350 kph), and uses a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated engine rated at 715 brake horsepower (533 kW/725 ps) and 528 pound-feet (716 Nm) of torque. Those figures stay exactly where they are, at least based on what is shown here.

So this build is really about appearance, not output. Whether that is enough depends on taste. Personally, I can see the appeal; then again, the untouched car already has a strong identity of its own. DarwinPro Aero just offers a sharper suit for buyers who were never going to leave their Purosangue stock anyway.

DS Automobiles has taken the wraps off the No. 7, the model now stepping in for the DS 7, once known as France’s former presidential car. For DS, the launch comes at a useful time, as it faced a lot of challenges in 2025, with the outgoing DS7 sales dropping by roughly 24%, meaning around 14,000 units sold.

Now, it seems that their model is making a comeback as a premium French SUV, aimed to rival the likes of the X1 from BMW or Mercedes-Benz`s new GLA; and that`s because of new features that the French carmaker is putting into the SUV: long range, tech-heavy cabin, and exterior new design lines. Thus, the company is clearly hoping this new “First Class” SUV can do what the No. 8 and No. 4 could not.

The car`s design traces back to the concept shown at the Geneva Motor Show in 2020, with DS pointing to the roofline in particular, which flows into a spoiler above the tailgate. There are also rounded surfaces and a standout shoulder line that really highlight the car`s new personality.

As for exterior paint jobs, the No.7 can be had with a choice of six colors, like Silk Green, Palladium Grey, Alabaster White, Topas Blue, Perla Nera Black, and Crystal Pearl. As for wheels, sizes are available up to 21 inches.

The electric range is broad. The front-wheel-drive Long Range version uses a single motor delivering 242 horsepower (245 metric horsepower), or 276 horsepower (280 with Boost), and pairs it with a 97.2-kWh battery pack built in northern France. Installed in the floor, it preserves legroom and allows up to 460 miles (740 kilometers) of range. The all-wheel-drive Long Range model raises output to 345 horsepower (350 metric horsepower), or 370 horsepower (375 metric horsepower) with Boost, while range stands at 422 miles (679 kilometers). It also covers 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 kph) in 5.4 seconds. Another version, the FWD E-Tense, uses a 73.7-kWh battery, returns 337 miles (543 kilometers), and produces 227 horsepower (230 metric horsepower) or 256 horsepower (260 metric horsepower) with Boost engaged.

DS No. 7

Then there is the equipment list. The active suspension reads the road with a windshield-mounted camera and adjusts each shock absorber through a motorized solenoid valve within milliseconds. DS PIXELVISION combines adaptive headlights, pivoting main beams, cornering lighting, and glare-free high beams, with a reach of 400 meters (1,312 feet). Add level 2 driver assistance, night vision, a digital rearview mirror, a head-up display, the Neck Warmer, and Focal’s Electra 3D audio system with 14 speakers and a 690-Watt amplifier, and the No. 7 does not exactly arrive empty-handed. Order books are already open, with the first version offered being the E-Tense with 230 horsepower at 64,200 euros, or $74,075.
