Ibiza Town surprised me.

I came expecting noise, flash, maybe a bit of chaos. But what I found was something more interesting. A city that knows how to party, yes, but also knows how to breathe. Ibiza Town has layers. There is the historic side, the stylish side, the part that never sleeps, and quiet corners that somehow still exist between it all.

If you are planning a trip to the island, this is where you want to start. Or stay. Or, at the very least, wander for a day or two until it gets under your skin the way it did mine.

The First Thing You Notice

Arriving in Ibiza Town is not dramatic. The airport is about ten minutes away, the streets are calm, and the sea is always nearby. Then you look up and see the old citadel, Dalt Vila, sitting high above the harbor. That is when it clicks. This place is older than the clubs, older than tourism, older than most cities back home.

I checked into a small guesthouse behind a bakery. Nothing fancy, just clean, quiet, and close to everything. From there, the city opened up on foot. No plans, no pressure.

Dalt Vila: The Old Town That Actually Feels Old

The old town is a proper fortress built centuries ago to defend against pirates. You walk through a massive stone gate and climb cobbled paths past shuttered windows and crumbling archways. At the top, there is a cathedral, a sea breeze, and a view that makes you stop. Ferries crawl toward Formentera, and the tiled rooftops catch the afternoon sun.

I wandered for hours up there, stopping for coffee, taking wrong turns, and ducking into quiet galleries. One evening I found a tiny square with just two tables and a man playing guitar to no one in particular. Dalt Vila slows you down without asking.

A Town With Walkable Beaches

You do not need to rent a car to reach the beach. Figueretas is the closest, around fifteen minutes on foot from the port. It is a small urban beach, not glamorous, but easy and relaxed. Locals bring sandwiches. People sunbathe without worrying about how they look. I came here my first afternoon, bought a cold beer from a corner shop, and sat on the wall with my feet in the sand.

Talamanca is a little farther, across the marina. It is cleaner, quieter, and a better spot if you want a full beach day. The water is shallow and still. I brought a book, stayed too long in the sun, and ended up having grilled fish at a beachside place that felt completely unplanned but exactly right.

Food and Drink

Ibiza Town has range. There are polished restaurants serving beautiful plates and also tiny tapas bars that feel like someone’s living room. You do not have to spend a fortune to eat well.

One night I followed my nose down a side street and ended up at a tiny place with no sign outside. I had grilled octopus, padrón peppers, and house wine in a plain glass. The waiter introduced me to the cook like I was family. It felt real, and it was one of the best meals I had on the island.

After dinner, I walked down to the port. The bars were filling up, music was starting to spill into the streets, and it felt like the night was waiting to see what you wanted from it. Sometimes I stayed out. Sometimes I walked home early. Either way, the city made space for both.

It Is Not Just About the Party

Yes, Ibiza is famous for its clubs. Pacha is right near town, and the big ones like Ushuaïa and Hï are just a short ride away. But Ibiza Town does not push that on you. You can feel the energy without stepping into a single club.

I had nights that ended with a quiet drink by the harbor and mornings that started late with coffee and no hangover. You get to choose your version of the city, and no one is judging.

Shopping, but Casual

I am not a big shopper, but I still found things I wanted to take home. A linen shirt from a woman who makes everything by hand. A secondhand book from a quiet shop with a friendly dog at the door. A woven bracelet from a man who moved here twenty years ago and never left.

There are high-end boutiques, especially near Marina Botafoch, but the real charm is in the small discoveries. Nothing feels forced. You are not being sold a lifestyle. You are just in a place where people make things and share them.

Where to Stay

I have stayed near Figueretas and once in a boutique hotel inside the old town walls. Both were excellent. In town, you are close to everything. On the edge, you get a bit more quiet.

Accommodation ranges from luxury to basic. Prices peak in July and August, but you can find good deals in the shoulder seasons. September was my sweet spot. Warm days, fewer crowds, and more space to breathe.

Getting Around

You do not need a car in Ibiza Town. Buses are reliable. Ferries can take you to nearby beaches and Formentera. Most of the town is walkable. If you want to explore the north or chase hidden coves, rent a scooter for the day. Otherwise, keep it simple.

So, Is Ibiza Town Worth It?

Without a doubt. Ibiza Town is not just somewhere to pass through. It is a full experience. You can walk ancient walls in the morning, swim in calm water in the afternoon, eat something unforgettable at night, and maybe stay out until sunrise. Or not. The point is, it works either way.

Some places look good in photos. Ibiza Town feels better in real life. You show up thinking you know what to expect, and you leave already wondering when you can come back.

Ibiza is a dream destination for sun-seekers and party lovers, but it’s no secret that the island can put a serious dent in your wallet if you’re not careful. From sunset cocktails to superclub entry fees and late-night taxi rides, costs can add up fast. Whether you’re planning a wild week of clubbing or just want to enjoy the island’s food and beaches, here’s what you need to know about prices in Ibiza for 2025—specifically for food, drinks, nightlife, and taxis.

Food Prices in Ibiza

Eating in Ibiza can range from budget-friendly to blow-your-budget, depending on where you go. A casual meal at a café or local tapas bar might cost you around €12–€15, while grabbing a fast-food combo (yes, even McDonald’s) will set you back about €10. If you’re sticking to local spots or daily “menu del día” deals, it’s possible to eat out without overspending.

Mid-range restaurants are where most travelers land. Expect to pay around €30–€50 per person for a nice sit-down meal with a drink. A three-course dinner for two at a decent restaurant will cost about €80–€100 total. Think fresh seafood, a good glass of local wine, and a sunset view to go with it.

For fine dining or beach club restaurants, get ready to splurge. Upscale venues can easily charge €100 or more per person, especially if you’re adding cocktails, wine, and dessert. A gourmet burger might even cost you €30 at a high-end beachfront spot. That’s Ibiza life.

Drink Prices: From Beers to Beach Cocktails

Drinks in Ibiza are notoriously pricey—but again, it depends where you’re drinking. A beer at a regular bar might cost you €4–€6, and happy hours can bring that down even more. Cocktails at casual spots are usually around €8–€12, while at trendier lounges or beach clubs, prices jump to €14–€18 per drink.

If you’re heading to somewhere iconic like Café Mambo or Blue Marlin, don’t be surprised to pay €20+ for a specialty cocktail. Even soft drinks aren’t cheap—a Coke or bottled water at a restaurant can run €3–€5. The trick? Hit up the supermarket for drinks or pre-drink before you go out. A six-pack of beer costs about €6 at the store, and a decent bottle of wine can be found for under €10.

Nightlife & Club Entry Prices

Clubbing in Ibiza is world-famous—and expensive. Entry to major clubs like Ushuaïa, Hï Ibiza, Amnesia, and Pacha typically ranges from €50 to €80, depending on the night and who’s playing. Big-name DJ events or peak season weekends can push prices over €100. Smaller clubs or pre-sale tickets may offer better deals, and early entry can sometimes knock a bit off the price.

Once you’re inside, the drinks are where it really hits. A basic vodka mixer or gin & tonic starts at €15–€18, while premium cocktails can easily hit €20 or more. Beer inside clubs usually costs €10–€12. And yes, even water isn’t cheap—expect to pay €8–€10 for a small bottle. This is why pre-drinking before hitting the clubs is a rite of passage for many Ibiza visitors.

If you’re going VIP with bottle service, be ready to drop €500 or more per table. Ibiza’s nightlife scene is as glamorous as it is pricey—but it can be worth every cent if you plan for it.

Taxi Fares Around the Island

Taxis in Ibiza are regulated, clean, and reliable—but they’re not cheap. Fares start at around €4, with a per-kilometer charge of about €1.20–€1.50. That means even a 10-minute ride can cost €15 or more.

Here are some example fares to keep in mind:

Ibiza Town to San Antonio: €25–€30

Ibiza Town to Playa d’en Bossa: €13–€16

Airport to Ibiza Town: €20–€25

Airport to San Antonio: €33–€40

Late-night trips, especially after clubbing, will hit the higher end of those ranges. If you’re trying to save money, use the local bus network (cheap and efficient) or take advantage of the summer disco buses that connect clubs and towns until the early morning.

How Much Spending Money Do You Need?

This depends entirely on your travel style. Here’s a rough guide:

Budget Traveler: €500–€800 for a week (basic meals, few drinks, maybe one club night, public transport)

Mid-Range Traveler: €1,000–€2,000 for a week (decent meals, 2–3 nights out, taxis, a few splurges)

Luxury / Party-Heavy Traveler: €3,000+ for a week (daily clubbing, fine dining, VIP access, taxis galore)

If you’re planning to experience the full Ibiza vibe—beach clubs, superclubs, sunset dinners—you’ll want to lean toward the higher end of your budget. But if you’re savvy, stick to local eats, pre-drink, and use public transport, Ibiza can be more affordable than people think.

Final Tips

Ibiza is one of those places where you can easily spend a fortune—or enjoy it on a reasonable budget with a bit of planning. Mix in casual beach days with a few big nights out, and you’ll walk away with incredible memories without breaking the bank.

Whether you’re club-hopping until dawn or just chilling with tapas by the water, knowing what to expect price-wise will make your 2025 Ibiza trip smoother, smarter, and a whole lot more fun.

If you’re already dreaming about dancing under the stars, sipping cocktails by the beach, or just soaking in those iconic Balearic sunsets, you’re probably asking the same question as every sun-seeker and party lover: when does the Ibiza 2025 season officially begin?

Well, mark your calendar—because the island’s legendary summer kicks off on Saturday, April 26th, 2025. That’s the date when Ibiza’s biggest clubs, like Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza, throw their massive opening parties and officially signal that the season has started.

What Exactly Is “The Ibiza Season”?

The Ibiza season isn’t just a stretch of warm weather—it’s a cultural moment. Every year, between late April and early October, the island transforms into a magnet for music lovers, beach bums, wellness seekers, and luxury travelers alike.

It’s when the beach clubs are in full swing, the restaurants unveil their seasonal menus, the DJs roll in from around the world, and the island’s energy is at its absolute peak.

Opening Weekend 2025: What to Expect

The last weekend of April is when things really begin to heat up. Clubs like Ushuaïa Ibiza and Hï Ibiza traditionally lead the charge with back-to-back parties that go late into the night (and well into the next day). Expect a lineup of world-renowned DJs, next-level production, and crowds from all corners of the globe ready to kick off summer in style.

Even if you’re not into the superclubs, opening weekend still sets the tone. Many beach clubs, rooftop lounges, and local spots around Ibiza Town and San Antonio also start reopening around this time.

Are There Events Before the “Official” Start?

Yes—and that’s a little insider tip for you. While April 26 is the headline event, some venues will begin hosting soft openings earlier in the month. These are more relaxed, slightly under-the-radar events that are perfect if you prefer fewer crowds and a more low-key vibe. It’s also a great time to explore the island’s natural beauty before the summer rush fully hits.

What’s the Vibe Like in April?

April is kind of magical. The weather is warming up—expect sunny days and highs in the low 20s °C (that’s around 70–75°F)—but it’s not scorching yet. Flights and accommodation are usually more affordable than in peak summer, and the island still has that fresh, just-out-of-winter calm about it.

It’s the perfect time for early hikes, long lunches in the sun, and yes, a bit of dancing after dark.

So, When Should You Book?

If you’re aiming to be there for the full buzz of Opening Weekend 2025, you’ll want to book sooner rather than later. Flights to Ibiza around late April are already popular, and hotels in hotspots like Playa d’en Bossa and Ibiza Town fill up quickly—especially near the big clubs.

For those who want to enjoy the island before the madness kicks into full gear, mid-April is ideal. You’ll catch the first signs of life stirring, without the crowds.

Ibiza is usually associated with its wild nightlife, stunning beaches, and unforgettable sunsets—but there’s another side to the island that often flies under the radar. If you’re someone who enjoys a round of golf, or just looking for a quieter escape from the buzz, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Yes, you can absolutely play golf in Ibiza—and it’s a lot more scenic and laid-back than you might expect.

Tucked between Ibiza Town and Santa Eulalia is Golf Ibiza, the island’s one and only golf course. It’s set in the upscale residential area of Roca Llisa, surrounded by hills, pine trees, and sea views. The vibe here? Peaceful, a bit posh, and nothing like the dance floors of San Antonio. You come here to breathe, swing a club, and enjoy a slower rhythm.

Golf Ibiza actually has two courses—a full 18-hole course and a smaller 9-hole one. The 18-hole course is great if you’re looking for a proper game with some interesting challenges. There are a few sneaky bunkers and water hazards to keep things exciting, but it’s also welcoming enough for casual players who just want to enjoy the scenery. The 9-hole course is more forgiving, ideal if you’re just starting out or fancy a shorter round before heading to the beach.

Don’t worry if you didn’t lug your clubs all the way from home—they’ve got you covered. Rentals are available, including buggies and trolleys, and if you’re looking to improve your game, they offer lessons with local pros. It’s a nice place to learn without the pressure of a super competitive atmosphere.

Timing your game is key. Spring and autumn are arguably the best seasons to play. The weather’s mild, the course is quieter, and the views—especially when the light hits the hills—are just unreal. In summer, it can get pretty hot, so if you’re planning a round then, aim for early morning or late afternoon when the heat’s less intense. Winter, surprisingly, can be a lovely time to play too. It’s calm, cool, and you’ll often have the course almost to yourself.

After your round, you’ll want to check out the clubhouse restaurant. It’s called Hoyo 19, and it’s a great spot to wind down with a cold drink and something tasty to eat. The terrace looks out over the greens, and if you time it right, you’ll catch a gorgeous sunset from there. Some evenings they even have live music or small events—more low-key than the beach clubs, but just as enjoyable in its own way.

Getting to Golf Ibiza is easy. It’s just a short drive from both Ibiza Town and Santa Eulalia, and taxis are never hard to find. There’s plenty of parking if you’ve rented a car too.

So, if you’re looking to take a break from the pool parties and beach bars—or if you simply can’t resist the pull of a good swing under the sun—golfing in Ibiza might just surprise you. It’s relaxed, scenic, and adds a different kind of magic to your time on the island.

There are certain places in Ibiza that offer more than just an experience, they take you on a journey. The Golden Buddha is one of those places. A bar and restaurant with panoramic views of San Antonio Bay, Golden Buddha is the perfect place to unwind and watch one of Ibiza’s legendary sunsets.

Golden Buddha Location and Access

Golden Buddha is located on the San Antonio promenade, just next to the iconic Egg roundabout. This prime location provides a spectacular view of the sun sinking into the bay, painting the sky with hues of red and orange, and making it a perfect place for sundowners.

To get there, you could take a taxi or a bus from Ibiza town, or drive if you have rented a car. Once in San Antonio, Golden Buddha is a hard place to miss, with its glowing golden Buddha statue standing guard at the entrance.

Golden Buddha Atmosphere

Golden Buddha has a unique atmosphere that is both relaxed and sophisticated. The decor reflects a fusion of Asian and Mediterranean influences, with its comfortable seating, warm lighting, and the soothing sound of the waves lapping against the shoreline.

The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the overall charm of the place. There is also a mix of live music and DJ sets that add to the ambience without overpowering the conversation.

Golden Buddha Food & Drinks

On a recent visit, I was treated to a delightful culinary experience at Golden Buddha. I started my meal with the Crispy Duck Rolls, which were beautifully presented and tasted equally delicious. The duck was flavorful and tender, and the accompanying sauce added a lovely tanginess to the dish.

For my main course, I opted for the Grilled Sea Bass, a popular choice among the regulars. Served on a bed of seasoned vegetables, the fish was cooked to perfection – crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside. The combination of fresh, locally sourced ingredients and the chef’s expert execution resulted in a simple yet memorable dish.

And no visit to Golden Buddha would be complete without trying one of their signature cocktails. I ordered the Buddha’s Blessing, a refreshing blend of vodka, elderflower, mint, lime, and cucumber. As I sipped on my cocktail, watching the sun dip below the horizon, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of serenity wash over me.

Final Thoughts
Golden Buddha is the epitome of the Ibiza experience – relaxed, stylish, and full of vibrant energy. It’s the kind of place where you can lose track of time, immersed in the captivating sunset views, the flavorful food, and the captivating ambience. Whether you’re visiting for a romantic date, a night out with friends, or simply to treat yourself to some tranquility, Golden Buddha is a place that deserves a spot on your Ibiza itinerary. This is not just a dining experience; it’s a moment of peace amidst the pulsating energy of the island.

As someone who relishes the thrill of discovering new culinary delights, the island of Ibiza, renowned as much for its vibrant dining scene as its pulsating nightlife, has never disappointed. And nestled on the shores of Es Cavallet beach is a gem that stands out even amidst Ibiza’s glittering gastronomic landscape: El Chiringuito.

Location and Access

El Chiringuito is located on Es Cavallet beach, one of Ibiza’s most beautiful and pristine stretches of sand on the southern coast of the island. A short 15-minute drive from Ibiza Town, it offers a serene respite from the bustling city and club scene.

To get there, you can take a taxi from Ibiza Town, or rent a car if you prefer the freedom of setting your own pace. Just head south, follow the well-marked signs and you’ll find yourself at the entrance of a beachy paradise. Parking is available close to the restaurant, which is a pleasant surprise in Ibiza, especially during the peak summer season.

Dining Experience

As soon as you step into El Chiringuito, you are greeted by a laid-back, bohemian vibe that instantly puts you in the holiday mood. With its chic white decor, rustic wooden accents, and the azure sea as its backdrop, the restaurant exudes a tranquil, inviting aura that makes you want to linger long after your meal.

The staff at El Chiringuito are as warm as the Mediterranean sun, ensuring you feel welcomed and well looked after throughout your visit.

The Cuisine

Now, let’s talk about the star of the show – the food. On a recent trip, I had the opportunity to sample a variety of dishes that left me enchanted.

To start, I tried the Tuna Tartare. Served with creamy avocado and a touch of soy dressing, this dish was a melody of flavors. The tuna was impeccably fresh, perfectly complemented by the rich, velvety avocado.

For my main course, I had the Lobster Linguini. Each strand of pasta was al dente, absorbing the fragrant lobster bisque. Generous chunks of succulent lobster meat were nestled throughout the dish, making every bite a luxurious treat.

To round off the meal, I had their signature dessert – Tarta de Queso. A divine cheesecake with a crumbly biscuit base and a creamy, tangy filling. It was an exquisite finale to a truly memorable meal.

El Chiringuito also boasts a comprehensive wine list with selections from Spain and beyond. I opted for a glass of crisp, local white wine that was a perfect match for the seafood-heavy meal.

In Conclusion

El Chiringuito offers more than just a meal. It’s an immersive dining experience that combines stunning beach views, a relaxed and inviting ambiance, and a menu brimming with fresh, flavorful fare. It’s a slice of paradise that captures the essence of Ibiza – laid back, beautiful, and satisfyingly indulgent. For those seeking a culinary adventure in Ibiza, El Chiringuito is a must-visit. It truly is the embodiment of ‘La Buena Vida’ – the good life.

Guide to Playa d’en Bossa, Ibiza

Just off the coast of Spain is the Mediterranean paradise we all know as Ibiza. There’s something for everyone on Ibiza, but no destination is better for the clubbing crowd than Playa d’en Bossa. Indeed, Playa d’en Bossa has grown from a small resort area into one of the most sought after destinations for people looking for a holiday party experience.

The best part about Playa d’en Bossa is that it puts you in close proximity to Ibiza’s two biggest and most well-known clubs: Ushuaïa and Sankeys. But the fun doesn’t stop there. There are dozens of clubs and bars within walking distance regardless of where you stay. In fact, there are few other places on earth with as high a density of bars and clubs.

Clubs in Playa d’en Bossa

The main floor is wide open and bare, lending itself well to a rave environment with lots of hot and heavy dancing. Sankeys can hold 1500 guests in its three-room facility.

Hard Rock Hotel – The Hard Rock brand is well-known throughout Europe. Since 2014, the Hard Rock has been in Ibiza as well. In fact, the hotel hosts a ‘Children of the 80s’ party every Sunday.

There are other clubs on Ibiza you might want to try during your holiday. They include DC-10, Bora Bora, and any of the companies offering boat parties. You can get to and from the airport in a number of ways.

Taxis are preferred given their availability and the minimal amount of traffic on local roads.
You can also get to the airport via bus. The one downside to the buses is their intermittent nature. In other words, they don’t necessarily run on schedule.

Getting to San Antonio

If you’re looking to spend an evening in San Antonio, your options for getting there include taxi, bus, or rental car. A rental car will be most convenient, but it will also be the most expensive. Keep in mind that the intermittent nature of buses also applies here.

This is a popular destination for sailors, as Pollensa has a large port for small vessels, and the area has plenty to see. Tourists can enjoy the waters even without a boat, as the beaches are clean, and the sea is blue.

The municipality of Pollensa is on the north side of the island of Majorca, around 30 miles from the capital of Palma. Pollensa is a coastal town with a small population, sheltered by a mountain on one side and gifted with a view of the Mediterranean Sea on the other.

Pollensa’s history dates back over 2-millennia when the Romans stationed a part of their forces there. A roman bridge, Pont Roma, still stands as a reminder. Signs of later occupations are obvious with such landmarks as the monastery from 1371 AD. More recently, the town has restored the Puig De Maria monastery, which rests on a 1000-foot hillock overlooking the town.

Things to in Pollensa

From towering mountains to emerald coves, ancient history to vibrant markets, Pollensa offers an array of opportunities to immerse oneself in the spirit of Mediterranean life. Let’s delve into the many captivating things to do in Pollensa.

1. Embark on a Historic Journey at the Pollentia Monographic Museum

Located in the heart of Pollensa, the Pollentia Monographic Museum offers a fascinating exploration of the region’s rich Roman history. The museum is home to an impressive collection of artifacts unearthed from the nearby Roman town of Pollentia, including pottery, sculptures, mosaics, and coins. This journey through time provides a compelling insight into Pollensa’s past.

2. Hike the Majestic Tramuntana Mountains

The Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers an idyllic setting for hiking enthusiasts. The Puig de Pollensa, a small mountain standing at 330 meters high, is a popular choice, offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the Bay of Pollensa. This is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the region’s breathtaking natural beauty.

3. Explore the Calvari Steps

In the heart of Pollensa, 365 stone steps lead up to the chapel of El Calvari. The arduous journey is well worth it, rewarding climbers with a stunning vista of the town and the azure sea beyond. The chapel itself, with its simplistic yet serene ambiance, provides a tranquil spot to rest and contemplate the beauty of Pollensa.

4. Discover the Beauty of Cap de Formentor

Cap de Formentor, also known as the ‘meeting point of the winds’, is a must-see. This wild peninsula on Majorca’s northeast coast is known for its stunning cliffs, lighthouses, and beaches. The winding drive to the lighthouse at the end of the peninsula is as thrilling as it is scenic, offering unparalleled views of the sea and mountains. It’s a perfect place for photography, bird watching, or simply soaking in the serenity.

5. Indulge in Local Cuisine

Your trip to Pollensa isn’t complete without diving into its mouth-watering local cuisine. Traditional dishes like ‘Tumbet’ (a vegetable-based dish), ‘Sobrasada’ (a type of sausage), and ‘Ensaimada’ (a spiral-shaped pastry) are a must-try. Don’t forget to pair your meal with a glass of local Majorcan wine!

6. Visit the Vibrant Pollensa Market

Every Sunday, Pollensa comes alive with a vibrant market that takes over the Plaça Major. Here, you’ll find a wide array of stalls selling everything from fresh local produce, antiques, handmade crafts, to clothing. It’s an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in local culture, shop for unique souvenirs, and sample regional delicacies.

7. Bask on the Beaches of Port de Pollensa

A short drive from the town center lies Port de Pollensa, boasting beautiful sandy beaches and the shimmering Mediterranean Sea. This is the ideal spot for a day of relaxation. The shallow waters are great for swimming and snorkeling. Alternatively, take a leisurely stroll down the Pine Walk, a picturesque promenade lined with restaurants and shops.

8. Attend the Festival of the Patrona

If your visit aligns with the first week of August, don’t miss the opportunity to experience the Festival of the Patrona.
