McAfee offers excellent malware protection, and web protections that are highly effective at a very affordable price. They provide coverage for as many as 10 devices, and US users have unlimited coverage.

McAfee antivirus scanner scored 100% in all of my malware detection tests. It detected and blocked both simple and sophisticated threats such as trojans on Windows, Mac OS, Android and iOS. Spyware, ransomware. Cryptojackers.

McAfee has more features than most antiviruses.

McAfee is an excellent company that offers many great features. McAfee was able to block more malicious websites than Firefox or Chrome in my testing.

McAfee’s VPN is not suitable for me. It logs your activities, doesn’t allow torrenting and can’t access certain streaming sites. McAfee VPN works with Netflix and Amazon Prime but not with Disney+ or Hulu.

McAfee remains my favorite antivirus. It has a great malware scanner, a wide range of security features, and an easy to use dashboard. All this at a very reasonable price.

McAfee Security Protections worked very well on my MacBook Pro and iPhone, as well as my Samsung Galaxy Galaxy S5 & iPhone.

McAfee Antivirus Scanner

McAfee’s anti-virus scanner employs traditional malware detection techniques. These are used to verify files against McAfee’s vast virus database. It also uses heuristics to detect potentially dangerous files based on their behavior.

Before running McAfee’s virus scanner, I downloaded malware to my computer. Before I tested McAfee’s virus scanner, I downloaded trojans, viruses, and other malicious software.

McAfee’s scanner wasn’t the first time I tested it. McAfee was tested several months ago. It detected all of my malware samples with a 100% rate.

McAfee has consistently been a top-rated anti-malware program against all types of malware. McAfee and Bitdefender, TotalAV, Avira are the only brands that can match them. All malware samples were successfully removed by each brand in our tests.

McAfee’s complete system scan took less than an hour. This is comparable to Bitdefender and Norton scans, but McAfee’s system scan took just over an hour. Avira scans take only 40 minutes. It took only 2 minutes. McAfee, which specializes in custom scans, takes slightly longer depending on what files are being scanned.

McAfee scanner can cause system slowdowns. McAfee’s scanner did slow down my computer’s performance. Although I could still surf the web, use word processing software, and do work, it was impossible to play video or watch any other type of media.

McAfee’s anti-virus scanner is a top choice. You can schedule full scans during the night or non-peak times.

Firewall

McAfee’s firewall works well and is easy to use. It can be set up easily. It works flawlessly right out of the box. McAfee detected a variety of threats during my testing. These included network intrusions and exploit attacks.

McAfee firewall has many security features. McAfee users have the ability to:

• Choose which programs have web access.
• Close and open certain network ports.
• There is 4 levels of network protection.
• Modify trust configurations for stored networks.
• Activate software intrusion detection.
• Whitelist certain programs.

McAfee firewall has a lot of flexibility. It allows me to select from many options. Even users with less technical skills can set up firewalls to stop suspicious activity without any user input.

McAfee firewall is not able to provide detailed logs. McAfee will tell you which network activity is blocked but not give any explanations.

McAfee’s firewall offers network users top-of the-the-line protection. It also includes a program blocker and network intrusion defense. Advanced settings can be used by tech-savvy users.

VPN (Virtual Private Network).

VPNs route all traffic through secure servers. This encrypts all data and hides your online traffic. A VPN will give a US-based user an IP address which allows them access the Internet as though they are in the UK.

McAfee SafeConnect VPN makes it easy to browse and stream content.

McAfee Safe Connect VPN has 1,900+ servers across 41 countries. Although it’s a solid network it’s not as extensive as the ExpressVPN offering. ExpressVPN offers encryption with 256 bit AES encryption. It has over 3,000 server locations across 94 countries. You can also disconnect from the internet via Safe Connect (kill switch).

I was able to access Netflix and Amazon Prime. I was also able watch movies on smaller streaming platforms like Pluto TV. Crunchyroll and other blocked my access. CyberGhostVPN or ExecVPN are reliable VPNs for streaming services.

McAfee Safe ConnectVPN stopped torrent clients from downloading and uploading files during my testing. ExecVPN or ProxyVPN are my top choice for torrenting VPNs.

McAfee Safe Connect VPN has some positive points. McAfee Safe Connect VPN has some negative aspects. McAfee Safe Connect VPN logs your visits to websites and IP addresses.

My speed testing with McAfee Safe Connect VPN was very successful. When I connected to a US server I experienced extremely fast speeds. McAfee Safe Connect VPN provided reasonable speeds for browsing distant servers in Europe and South America. In Australia, websites took around 4-5 seconds.

McAfee Safe Connect VPN is easy to use, supports Netflix, and speeds up local servers at lightning fast speeds. However, logs of internet traffic are kept and IP addresses are not saved. It doesn’t support P2P, and it lacks other standalone VPN services.

WebAdvisor (Windows Only).

McAfee WebAdvisor protects against exploit attacks, phishing, and browser-based malware.

WebAdvisor analyzes every website you visit to detect exploit attacks. WebAdvisor also detects phishing sites from a large database, which is continuously updated.

WebAdvisor stopped all exploit and phishing attacks I tried. It detected many dangerous sites and was unable to be detected by Chrome’s or Firefox’s built in protections.

WebAdvisor offers an optional Secure Search mode. This mode assigns safety ratings and ratings in color to search results. It does not give ratings for all sites. However, it did not give dangerous ratings to some pirate sites.

WebAdvisor can rate social network links like Facebook and Twitter. Most of the links were deemed safe by it. It also flagged phishing links when a friend was hacked via Instagram.

WebAdvisor is a trusted online security tool. WebAdvisor’s search engine, which helps users locate unsafe websites, is extremely useful.

Performance Optimization

Total Protection is a set of performance optimization tools for desktops and web browsers. It’s not an easy tool to use.

• App Boost.
• HTML Boost.

McAfee QuickClean removes cookies from your computer as well as other temporary files. It can be accessed only through the PC Security tab. Click on the “Tracker Removal” button.

QuickClean scan was quick and took only one minute. It saved me nearly 2GB on my computer.

Bitdefender is my favorite antivirus for 2022.

Bitdefender provided perfect results against all malware types. Bitdefender’s cloud-based virus engine did not slow down my computer when I ran full system scans.

Bitdefender offers web protections as well as high-end malware protections. Bitdefender offers more security options than any other company. All its extras work as promised. They are very easy to locate and use.

Bitdefender’s virus scanner was tested by hiding over 1,000 malware samples in my virtual Windows computer. These malware samples included trojans, viruses, and other malicious software. Trojans, spyware, rootkits. ransomware. cryptojackers. Keyloggers. After my system had been infected, I ran a scan of the system.

Bitdefender performed a complete system scan in less than an hour, which is comparable to top-ranked scans like Norton or Avira that take around 45 minutes.

I tested Bitdefender’s Antiphishing Protection with a variety of phishing websites. Bitdefender blocked all of them. Firefox, Panda and Kaspersky, as well as other anti-phishing software, failed to detect as many suspicious websites.

Bitdefender has a simple notification screen. Bitdefender comes with a simple notification screen. Norton antivirus requires that you go through complex protocols and settings.

Bitdefender’s Web Protection blocks you from accessing a website containing downloadable malware. Bitdefender scans encrypted websites and checks search results.

Bitdefender is the best anti-phishing protection available. Bitdefender lets you whitelist websites and adjust your web security settings.

System Optimization

Bitdefender emptied 1.3GB from my computer. This is really amazing.

Bitdefender’s Tuneup tool has some limitations.

Bitdefender suggested that I review the issues before clicking “Optimize”. I found this annoying as I wanted to know exactly where the file was located and not what I was deleting.

Bitdefeder’s tool for system tuning could have more features. TotalAV’s optimization also includes an application uninstaller, duplicate file finder, and a startup manager.

Bitdefender’s optimization made my computer more responsive.

Secure Web Browser (SafePay).

Bitdefender’s secure web browser, SafePay By Bitdefender, protects your personal data when you make online payments.

These are the main benefits of SafePay

• Blocks hackers from remotely accessing your computer.
• Blocks screen captures by you and others.
• Bitdefender’s Password Manager protects your passwords.
• Hides keystroke tracking by using a virtual keyboard
• Turns off built-in VPN protection (200MB daily limit).

SafePay provided me with the protections I needed, but I was unable to capture screenshots due to its built-in snapshot blocker. This is great because intrusive hackers can also screen-capture your browser.

SafePay was successfully tested with my PayPal account. It was impossible to copy or paste my 2FA codes and password. The virtual keyboard appeared immediately after I entered my login details. This prevents keyloggers from accessing my password or personal information.

SafePay did not work for me. SafePay was unable to stream HD video and pages were slow loading for me. SafePay isn’t designed to replace your existing web browser.

SecurePay is an excellent addition to Bitdefender’s web protection toolkit.

Password Manager

Bitdefender has a simple password administrator that is secure but doesn’t provide 2FA, password vault inspection or sharing among accounts. However, it does offer the basic functions that password managers should offer, including:

• Multi-device sync.
• Unlimited password storage.
• Autosave/autofill.
• Separate password vaults.
• Password generator.

After Bitdefender’s Password Manager has been installed, you can create a password vault using three steps.

1. You can also name the wallet and choose a master password. A master secret password hint can be entered.
2. You have the option to choose which devices will sync with your Passwords.
3. You can choose from a variety of web browsers where your passwords will get imported. Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox are all supported.

You can create unlimited number of wallets for users sharing a computer. You can create multiple password vaults from one Bitdefender account.

Bitdefender’s wallet makes password storage easy. It stores personal information such as addresses, phone numbers, credit cards, bank accounts and email passwords. License keys and logins to software are also possible.

Bitdefender’s browser extension lets you auto-save and fill passwords. It was possible to disable autosave on specific sites.

LastPass is a password manager. LastPass asks you whether you wish to save your login credentials on each account. Bitdefeder’s autofill function filled my login credentials automatically from saved sites. There was no way to disable autofill on certain sites. However, the best standalone password managers let you disable autofill for specific sites. This is particularly useful for banks. Bitdefender’s browser makes online banking safe.

Bitdefender has a great password generator. It is accessible only through the web extension. Users can create passwords as long as they are both lowercase and highercase. However, you can customize the settings to only allow one of these options. This allows for easy-to-remember passwords and special characters.

Bitdefender’s password manager is simple but not as powerful than standalone password management tools such as LastPass and 1Password. Keeper provides a more comprehensive range of tools, including password sharing, password auditing, dark web monitoring 2FA and biometric logins.

Bitdefender VPN

All Bitdefender plans come with a free VPN. It’s very limited. It offers only 200MB per day of free browsing, which is barely enough to stream one YouTube video.

Bitdefender’s Premium Security Plan, as well as a separate VPN subscription, offer unlimited browsing data. Bitdefender premium VPN has the fastest speeds available – it is faster even than standalone competitors.

This is an example of my internet connection prior to and after activating Bitdefender’s VPN at the US local server.

It is clear that there was no noticeable difference in internet speed. The VPNs offered by companies like Panda can reduce download speeds by half, and send PING skyrocketing.

Bitdefender is great for torrenting. Bitdefender allows you to set Bitdefender to automatically connect whenever you start a peer-to-peer sharing app. This is in stark contrast to Norton’s policy that you cannot activate Bitdefender’s VPN if you have a torrenting client installed on your computer.

Bitdefender’s premiumVPN is excellent. However, it does not offer many of the same features that standalone VPNs. Bitdefender provides excellent connections speeds and encrypted browsing to those who want to increase their internet security.

Control of the Environment

Bitdefender’s parental software can be downloaded separately on Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS.

I tried the Bitdefender parental controls app on both my Android and Windows PCs. Although I had to grant permissions, it took only a few moments.

I next needed to be able to modify the parental settings. Bitdefender Central provided me with the ability to:

• Limitations on daily devices (not available for iOS).
• Set device usage schedules.
• Manage (allow/block) apps.
• Sites and categories can be whitelisted or blacklisted
• Check your location to ensure you’re only in safe areas (available only for iOS and Android).
• Check out the most recent additions to your phone’s contact list (only available for iOS and Android).

After setting up the settings, we tried out the app with a friend. Bitdefender blocked our friend from accessing sites belonging to the blacklisted categories. BullGuard offers many filters, but it does not block all inappropriate content. Bitdefender’s website filtering is limited in that children cannot request access to certain websites through the app.

Bitdefender’s parental app worked flawlessly. It was easy to see the time my friend had been on her phone and see which apps she was using. I also could track her location and ask her for a notification when she has reached a specific location. This feature isn’t available in all antiviruses.

Bitdefender provides geo-fencing to notify you if your child leaves a predetermined safe zone.

Bitdefender’s accuracy in finding my friend’s house was impressive to me too. Norton can track children.

Bitdefender parental controls provide the best protections of any parental control program. Bitdefender’s parental controls program is an excellent choice for parents who want their children to be safe online and offline.

Protect your webcam and microphone with Microphone Security

Bitdefender’s microphone security and webcam security protect you from hackers looking at your webcam or listening to private conversations.

Bitdefender checked all apps that attempted to access my microphone and webcam. Each time an attempt was made to gain access, Bitdefender displayed a notification. It allowed me to choose whether to grant access.

I love the freedom I have to control access to my microphone and webcam. I can also block attempts by my browser to access my microphone and webcam. These functions could not be accessed by any other apps.

The only problem I had was that microphone and webcam protections could only be used on Windows devices.

The webcam and microphone protections of Bitdefender are great. You can see who has attempted to access them and how they are doing it.

Ransomware Removal

Bitdefender’s Ransomware Remediation will automatically protect your files when it detects ransomware on the system. Files that have been encrypted by ransomware attacks can be restored

Ransomware Removal was ineffective in certain cases.

To view a list containing files thought to be recovered, I clicked on the Restored Filesbutton. The list included video clips and photos. The files were all restored with the original information intact. I was able to access almost all of them.

While there are some missing files, this feature can be very useful.

Nortonremains my favourite antivirus program in 2022. It offers a powerful antimalware engine and a variety of internet security tools. It offers excellent customer support and an intuitive online dashboard. All this at a lower price than other antivirus products.

Norton’s antimalware engine uses machine learning, advanced algorithms and a constantly updated malware directory. The engine detects all kinds of malware from trojans and viruses to ransomware and cryptojackers. The system was very responsive.

Norton also offers

Although there are some issues with Norton 360, I find it to be a great deal. Norton 360 security tools are worth the money. It comes with a 60-day money back guarantee. It is easy to test and choose the best antivirus.

Norton employs a large malware database and machine-learning to detect malicious software. It offers protection from malware on iOS, Android and Windows as well as Mac.

To test the files, I downloaded nearly 1,000 malware files. It contained trojans. trojans. backdoors. keyloggers. rootkits. zero day attacks. ransomware. spyware. Cryptojackers. PUPs.

Norton detected 100% of all malware files on my hard drive and performed a thorough system scan. Only one competitor can boast such high malware detection rates (such as Advira span and Bitdefender).

After running Norton’s full scanner, real-time protection was activated. I tried to download the 997 same malware files in plain, zipped, and encrypted formats. Norton stopped all files that were not plain before my computer could begin downloading them. Norton also blocked any zipped or encrypted malware files that I attempted to extract.

My personal computer took about 40 minutes to run Norton’s disk scanner. It is comparable to other top-ranked competitors’ disk scans.

It is easy to schedule your Norton virus scans. Norton performed a complete scan between 3-5am. I can also schedule weekly and monthly scans.

Norton can detect if your apps are in full-screen mode. Norton will not send you notifications, or initiate scans (including scheduled scans). This is a fantastic feature. Norton automatically suspends notifications if you’re in fullscreen mode. Norton is a great antivirus for gamers.

Overall, Norton’s malware scanner works well. Norton’s malware scanner is very good. It detected all the malware in my system without slowing it down. Real-time protection also blocked any malware I tried to download. This includes a personal scan that is quick. Schedule scans were easy.

Smart Firewall

Norton’s “Smart Firewall” is far more powerful than the built-in firewalls for Windows and macOS. In fact, Norton was capable of detecting every network intrusion during my exploit testing.

Advanced users can customize Norton’s firewall. Norton firewall blocks many Windows services when a public Wi-Fi network is being used. This includes File and Printer Sharing and Network Discovery. You can also find the complete Permissionswindow.

Norton offers a list of 136 unusual protocols. Norton provides a list of 136 uncommon protocols.

Norton’s Smart Firewall overall is a fantastic product. It detected all network intrusions during my testing and offers advanced users a wide range of customization options.

Safe Web & Safe Search

Norton’s Safe Web Extension is available for Chrome Firefox Safari Safari Edge. It provides community reviews and protects against phishing websites.

The Safe Web browser extension provides excellent anti-phishing protection. It found most of the phishing websites in my testing. It also detected sites that Chrome and top competitors such as McAfee couldn’t detect.

Safe Web offers “Isolation Mode,” which protects financial data. This will block all browser-based intrusions. This will make your browser window “read-only” in order to block malicious web scripts from stealing your information. Hackers cannot use Isolation Mode to access Safe Web.

Safe Web offered to put my browser in isolation mode. It could not copy, screencape or paste text into it.

Norton’s Safe Search Tool provides color-coded assessment for search results. Safe Search Tool by Norton provides color-coded assessments for search results. It also provided grey notifications to sites that were actually safe.

Norton’s Safe Search was not my favorite. Norton’s Safe Search wasn’t my favorite.

Dark Web Monitoring (Select countries only)

The dark Web Monitoring feature of Norton scans dark forums and credit reports to alert users if they have been hacked. LifeLock offers strong identity protections for US users.

Norton’s darknet monitoring scans for a wide range of personally identifiable information.

• Bank account numbers.
• Credit cards
• Addresses.
• Information concerning driver’s license
• Insurance numbers

Norton offers a superior data breach monitoring system than others. This is achieved by using live human agents who are paid to hack dark web forums. Norton dark web assistants are able to find information that many companies cannot. If your information is posted to the dark web, you can receive advice and feedback.

Dark internet monitoring can also be activated whenever you input your information. Norton’s dark web monitoring team will send you a notification with instructions on how to protect your identity, accounts and privacy.

Norton offers a fantastic dark web monitoring service. US users can access Norton’s LifeLock identity protection services.

Identity Theft Protection (US Only).

Norton’s LifeLock identity protection products offer a wide range of features including:

• Credit report monitoring
• Live Identity Recovery Assistance
• Legal assistance
• Credit freeze
• ID monitoring, home title, and court records.

LifeLock identity protection services are outstanding. LifeLock notifies anyone trying to use your personal information. LifeLock

LifeLock offers only protections for US users. BullGuard, TotalAV, BullGuard and BullGuard all offer credit monitoring in Europe and the US for less than LifeLock. Their protections aren’t as comprehensive as LifeLock’s.

Norton’s LifeLock plans are the best option to protect your identity and financial investments. They are not available to US users.

Secure VPN (Virtual Private Network).

VPNs allow you to hide your IP address behind thousands of servers all over the world. It encrypts all your web activity and hides your IP address behind any one of thousands of servers around the globe.

Norton’s VPN offers many additional security features.

• Unlimited browsing data even with the cheapest plans.

Norton’s VPN connection speeds are good. They are not slow, but they can slow down your connection.

This is my internet access via my local network. It does not use any VPN.

Next, I ran speed tests using Norton’s VPN connected to a US server.

My download speed dropped dramatically but my “ping” went up a lot Unless you stream or play video — I was still able to browse the internet and watch HD video without any noticeable slowdown

Norton VPN doesn’t allow torrenting. It isn’t the best, as there are many torrenting VPNs.

Norton Secure VPN is slower than other competitors, does not allow torrenting, and is not compatible to Netflix or other streaming platforms like ExpressVPN or standalone VPNs. It offers encrypted web access across a variety of servers worldwide, something that most competitors don’t offer.

Cloud Backup

The cloud backup service by Norton is excellent. It is however only available for PC users.

• Backups must be taken.
• Save specific files.
• Save and delete backup files from your local drive.
• Save your data to the cloud or local disk.

Cloud Backup is very reliable. Cloud Backup automatically selects 50GB of important files. Advanced users can then go to the “What section” and choose the folders they want to backup.

Although Norton’s backup is not the most innovative, it is a great solution to protect data in the Cloud. You can get as much as 10-500GB storage with Norton’s Cloud Backup feature.

Password Manager

Norton password manager is very good. Many antiviruses offer basic password storage, but not enough to make Norton’s special.

While it does not have the same functionality that standalone apps 1Password and Dashlane, it’s simple and secure with useful extras.

Here is a list of Norton password managers:

• Synchronization between Macs, PCs, Macs and Androids.
• Chrome extensions to Firefox, Edge Safari, Safari, Chrome, and Chrome.
• Autosave or autofill

Norton offered me the ability to import my password vaults via Chrome, Firefox, or Dashlane. This was after I had created my master password.

I imported my passwords to LastPass and navigated directly to PayPal. Norton then presented me with a small icon. I clicked on it and entered my email address.

Norton’s password management software includes vault auditoring tools, which is a major advantage over other antivirus providers. This helpful chart displays which passwords are too easy or repetitive and shows how secure they are.

Norton’s Password Manager also includes a mobile login function. This allows users to log into their vault using their mobile device instead of their master password.

Norton’s password management system doesn’t work perfectly. I first encountered the inability to recover accounts and provide emergency access. If your master password is lost or forgotten, Norton will not allow you to log in to any password vault. It’s difficult to create a hint for a string of random letters and numbers. This is what a master password should contain.

While some users may appreciate the lack of account recovery options, it means con artists are unable to access your vault. However, I believe most users would prefer email account Recovery and emergency contact options such as LastPass.

Norton’s password manager isn’t as robust as standalone alternatives, but it offers multi-device back up, a secure code generator and vault auditing. Norton’s password manager was the #1 antivirus in 2022.

Safe Family: Parental Controls

Norton offers parental controls for Android and iOS as well as Windows and Windows (not accessible on Mac).

Norton’s parental controls allow parents to:

Safe Family also captured every search, YouTube video, and Hulu program that I made using my iPhone, Chromebook and PC.

The online dashboard allows you to access Norton’s location monitoring and app blocking tools as well as usage scheduling tools. Amazingly, Norton was able to pinpoint my iPhone’s exact location within 65 feet.

Norton’s GPS tracker does not include geo-fencing alerts. Parents are notified when their children leave a restricted area. Bitdefender, Bitdefender and other companies have geofencing included in their parental controls. This would make Norton’s product line even more powerful.

Norton Safe Family’s content filtering capabilities and app blocking, usage limits, location tracking, YouTube monitoring and YouTube monitoring are all impressive. This parental control app is intuitive and comprehensive.

Privacy Monitor

Norton’s privacy monitor is a simple but powerful feature that protects personal identifying information (PII) from being sold to data brokers.

Data brokers use metadata from thousands of websites to create an identification profile. This profile could include your last address and family names, favorite brands, birthday, gender, and other information. Data brokers make a profit selling this information to the highest bidder.

Data brokers are prohibited from selling or collecting personal information.

Access Norton Privacy monitor can be accessed through the my.norton internet portal. Privacy monitor allows you to request deletions from individual sites or to have data brokers handled by Norton employees.

Webroot, a lightweight cloud-based antivirus program, detected 93.1% of the malware samples I had hidden on my device. This is still a remarkable result when compared to other antivirus programs like McAfee and Bitdefender.

Webroot also offers additional features:

• Web security and phishing protection.
• Password manager (LastPass).
• Identity Protection.
• System optimizer.
• 25GB cloud storage.

LastPass is the best password manager available. LastPass is the best password manager on the market.

Webroot is a great antivirus, even though it lacks many of the features I want in an antivirus program that will be available for 2022. Webroot plans include a guarantee of at least 70 span>

Webroot Full Review

Webroot is an inexpensive and lightweight antivirus scanner that has a good password manager and a few extras, including 25GB cloud storage and a system optimizer.

LastPass powers Webroot’s password management system. Although the cloud storage is reliable and useful, Webroot’s web protection may not be reliable. The system optimizer may also prove to be too easy for some users.

Webroot offers several plans that are compatible with Android, Mac, and Windows. The iOS app is poor. All plans come with a generous refund policy of up to 70 days.

Webroot Security Features

Antivirus Scanner

Webroot uses a cloud-based malware library and heuristic analysis to identify threats to your computer. Webroot also doesn’t have to keep its malware database updated.

Webroot lets you schedule a Deep Scan (full system scan) or Quick Scan. This will scan only high-risk areas of a device. This can be performed daily, weekly, or individually.

To test Webroot’s anti-malware scanner, I downloaded and hidden 1000 files. I also used spyware, trojans and keylogging malware.

Webroot detected 93% in my test files and either deleted them all or placed them in quarantine. Webroot isn’t as reliable as Bitdefender, Norton, or Bitdefender who both detected 100% in similar testing conditions.

I ran a ransomware simulation to test Webroot’s handling ransomware that tried to encrypt my files.

Webroot’s ransomware simulator did not produce impressive results. Webroot was able to block only five of 21 “threats”. 553 files could have been infected if the attack had been real. Webroot needs to improve its ransomware detection. This is particularly important given McAfee’s and other competitors’ 100% detection of ransomware files in our testing.

Webroot scans are quicker than other competitors. It took Webroot just 5 minutes to scan 15 files. This is remarkable, especially considering that Norton and Norton both have similar scan times.

Webroot’s antivirus scanner detects 93.1% of malware samples. It can also cause lag while browsing.

Password Manager

Webroot comes with a subscription to LastPass – SafetyDetectives number one password manager for 2022. This password manager protects user data with unbreakable AES encryption technology and zero-knowledge technology. LastPass has no access to the vault data of users span>.

LastPass is extremely user-friendly. It offers a dashboard that allows you to access your password vault online. You can also use vault auditing tools, as well as other features, to access your password vault online via an intuitive dashboard.

LastPass Premium has the following features:

• Two-factor authentication (2FA) options.
• Secure password sharing.
• Password auditing.
• Account Recovery Option.
• Emergency access.
• Dark Web Monitoring.

LastPass’ 2FA capabilities are excellent. LastPass’s 2FA capabilities are great.

LastPass has several account recovery options that can be very useful for users who are afraid of losing their master password, or being locked out from their password vault. LastPass can scan and send you a code to reset or restore your master password.

Although we prefer Dashlane over LastPass, it is a great standalone password manager. It is easy to use and offers 2FA options. LastPass offers many account recovery options. Webroot makes LastPass considerably less expensive than its internet security package, making it an excellent choice for anyone who needs both an antivirus and password manager.

Web Shield and Identity Shield

Webroot offers several “shields” that protect online users. These include Identity Shield and Web Shield.

Web Shield detects and blocks common web exploits. It was tested against various web-based attacks. Web Shield was able to identify and block all exploits. This includes exploits that affect Internet Explorer, Chrome, Java, and Adobe Flash.

My tests showed that Web Shield was very efficient. My Firefox and Chrome browsers crashed several times, and both crashed and froze even after restarting my computer. It was only after Web Shield was disabled that I was able to use any browser again.

Webroot Phishing Shield blocks Phishing websites — it blocked 8 out of 10 phishing sites I tried to access during my tests. Competitors like Norton and Avira both detected 100% of sites in SafetyDetectives Phishing Tests.

Identity Shield monitors websites to detect keylogging, screenlogging, and webcam theft. It was unable to block keylogging and browser-based data mining tools.

Phishing Shield and Web Shield are neither great nor terrible. They won’t cause browser crashes like Webroot’s Web Shield. Webroot can be a good choice if you’re looking for decent phishing protection.

System Optimizer

Webroot’s system optimizer deletes browser cookies and junk files stored on a device. This can help to protect your online privacy and improve your CPU performance

Webroot’s tool is very basic and doesn’t provide much information. It reported that 1,238 MB of junk files were found after it had scanned my computer. The tool did not give me the names of the junk files. This could have been files on my local drive or files in my computer registry. It was difficult to determine which files should be deleted.

The 2022 top antiviruses will offer better system speeds and cleaner tools. TotalAV has, for example, a startup manager, and an uninstaller. Avira can scan for obsolete software.

Webroot’s system optimizing tool works well. However, other computer optimization tools offer more control and more power.

Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus — Budget Plan

Webroot SecureAnywhere virus protection protects up to three computers or Macs over a period of 3 years. The following features are also included:

• Antivirus scanner.
• Real-time protection.
• Firewall.
• Protection against phishing attacks and web protection.

SecureAnywhereAntiVirus is cheaper than many competitors but doesn’t have a lot more features. Bitdefender’s basic Antivirus plus plan offers better protection against malware and web protection at a lower price.

Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus are great options for anyone looking for an affordable and lightweight antivirus solution.

Webroot Internet Security Plus — The Best Value Plan (Includes LastPass Subscription)

Webroot Internet Security Plus provides protection for 3 to 5 Windows, macOS Android, or iOS devices for up 3 years. SecureAnywhere virus plus is also included.

• Mobile apps.
• LastPass password manager.

Internet Security Plus protects more devices than Norton 360 Standard. Webroot is cheaper than Norton, however Norton has a superior antivirus scanner and tons more security features. (Norway is our #1 choice in 2022 ).

Internet Security Plus offers a great deal for anyone who is looking for lightweight antivirus protection and a password manager at an affordable price.

Comodo’s consumer antivirus products have a reputation of being intuitively designed. To see if they live up to their claims, I tested Antivirus Advanced and Comodo Antivirus.

Security

Comodo offers two antivirus products: Comodo Antivirus Basic and Comodo Antivirus Basic. This product is free. It offers instant virus removal and real-time scanning.

Comodo Internet Security is free to download. It offers many internet security options, including application control which verifies users are using legitimate apps, default deny protection and application control. Cloud-based whitelisting is also available, which allows users to quickly identify legitimate files.

Antivirus Advanced features include the trademarked “Auto Sandbox Technology.” This program impressed me so much that I didn’t know that a potentially dangerous executable was running in a virtual environment.
