Episode 163 – To clean or not to clean?

In this episode, Season and Erica begin by discussing Erica’s recent tour of the Club at Rancharrah. While feeling a bit like a fish out of water, Erica is excited to enjoy all of the amenities they have to offer. Then, Erica and Season have a long discussion about housework and the burden it can be on them individually as well as on their marriage. Season advocates for hiring help to clean the house and Erica talks about putting it off until she and Steve absolutely have to clean – and waste an entire Saturday or Sunday doing so. As always, they end with their highs and lows for the week.

Episode 159 – Dr Vanessa Garcia

Season and Erica are thrilled to welcome their first guest to the podcast in over a year! Dr Vanessa Garcia is a local optometrist who has been practicing in Northern Nevada for nearly six years. She sees patients of all ages, but is particularly passionate about her pediatric patients. She was introduced to the world of optometry at a very young age and was wearing very strong prescription glasses by the time she was three – so she’s been in their shoes! She joined Season and Erica to discuss the importance of early and subsequently, yearly, eye exams for children, what to expect at a pediatric eye exam and her involvement in the IntantSEE (www.infantsee.org) program. As Dr Garcia is also a mother, the three discuss motherhood in the pandemic and how fast all of their babies have grown up. This is an incredibly educational episode so enjoy!

In this episode, Season and Erica look back on their schedules pre-pandemic and reflect on how they made it all possible. They talk about how fulfilling their teaching positions were and the “emptiness” that has come since moving everything online or not even teaching at all. This year has been challenging for Erica to find the perfect amount of engagement while seeing her students on a screen or not at all. The two also discuss juggling multiple jobs and how one usually overpowers the other which leads to guilt and disappointment – ON TOP OF BEING A MOM! They close with their highs and lows to give you some real time updates on their (and their kids’) lives.

Episode 155 – Do kids ever listen?

After a week off, Season and Erica are back! In this episode, they open up with talking about how pediatric specialists (at least the ones they’ve seen) aren’t as warm as you think they would be. Then they talk about how at all ages their kids never seem to listen and how that probably never ends! Erica also goes over her recent trip to Las Vegas which leads into a discussion about how both Season and Erica’s kids have become much more clingy during the pandemic. The episode ends with their highs and lows from last week.
