This week, the New York Times basically confirmed that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding really will go down at Madison Square Garden on July 3rd (one week from today). Taylor apparently hired Winick Productions to plan/organize the event, and they applied for permits all around MSG. The NYT left it open, like this could all still be a ruse. At this point, I think Taylor was hiding in plain sight. She probably figured that her snake army would just assume that the MSG rumor was a cover story for whatever the real venue was. It’s not a double-cross, it’s a triple cross! So now I keep seeing posts where Swifties are lamenting all of Taylor’s elegant music video aesthetics because now she’ll have to throw floral garlands over the Jumbotron. Well, now Page Six claims that while the MSG wedding is real, Taylor and Travis are going to have another wedding ceremony the day before… which will also be held at MSG??

Two is better than one. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming Madison Square Garden wedding will be a multi-day event with two gatherings, The Post confirms. A source revealed the couple will have an intimate celebration at the arena on July 2 with an estimated 100 loved ones in attendance.

The following day, the pop star and the Kansas City Chiefs player will allegedly host between 1,000 and 2,000 people at a much larger party. The New York Times was the first to report the news. Reps for Kelce and Swift have yet to respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.

Page Six exclusively revealed in April that the pair will walk down the aisle over the July 3 weekend. Earlier this month, we confirmed the nuptials will take place at the iconic Big Apple venue, where Swift has performed multiple sold-out shows over the years.

“Privacy was of number one importance to them both,” a source told us at the time of the unconventional choice. Another insider noted that “everyone’s been sworn to secrecy.”

Page Six reported Wednesday that some of Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates have reservations at the Marriott Marquis in Midtown around the wedding date. The groom’s fellow NFL tight end — and Tight End University co-founder — George Kittle told “Entertainment Tonight” on Wednesday that he doesn’t “have any expectations” about the wedding location.

Kittle, 32, divulged, “I actually asked Travis last night [whether it was at MSG] and he laughed at me, so. I’m half expecting there to just be a jumbo jet on a runway and they put us on a plane somewhere.”

I understand having a more private, intimate wedding – or even a classy civil wedding service – the day before. What I don’t get is hosting an intimate “first wedding” event… at the Garden. Like, Taylor has all kinds of access, she even belongs to plenty of private clubs in New York. Surely there’s a cute, attractive space she can rent out mid-week for the intimate wedding? Something else I’ve been thinking about is how Taylor’s fans are sort of blaming Travis for “a wedding at the Garden.” I’ll buy that Travis probably doesn’t want to have a destination wedding at some European castle, but I also don’t believe that Travis wants his wedding at Madison Square Garden. I feel strongly that this is ALL Taylor.

What else? Variety spoke to some NYPD sources and the cops absolutely believe that they’re going to be working crowd-control around MSG for the wedding.

Prince William has seemingly gone through the five stages of grief in the past two weeks, and he’s done it loudly via press briefings. Denial: maybe Prince Harry & Meghan won’t visit the UK, maybe they won’t visit King Charles, maybe they won’t bring the kids. Anger: This is William’s wheelhouse, where he lives full-time, so we know he was raging out. Bargaining: If the Sussexes stay at Sandringham, William will never go there again! He’ll just run away, far away, then they’ll be sorry! Depression: this too is William’s wheelhouse, and he’s doing everything he can to stay afloat. Acceptance: well, the Sussexes are visiting, better come up with some dangerously unhinged schemes to ruin their trip. Well, Richard Eden’s latest Mail Plus column is obviously about the Sussexes’ UK visit, but it’s really about William and how badly he’s handling the news. Eden is always talking about “Project Thaw,” which is his pet name for this conspiracy: “the British establishment would do anything to bring back the Sussexes because William and Kate are lazy and boring.” I’m paraphrasing, but only barely. Some highlights from Eden’s column:

The success of Project Thaw: When the couple arrive in Britain in less than a fortnight’s time, accompanied by their children, Prince Archie, aged seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, it may appear that Project Thaw has been successful. After all, it will be the first time that Meghan has stayed here since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022 and even longer since their children were here in June of that year for the late monarch’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Security in the UK: The reason Harry and Meghan needed the help of Establishment figures in government and at the Palace was because they had lost their automatic right to taxpayer-funded security after they moved overseas. This infuriated Harry, who took legal action against the Home Office, which he lost….He has, however, apparently been satisfied by the security arrangements for next month’s visit.

William won’t even discuss the Sussexes!! But while all these developments might suggest success for Project Thaw, there are two important ways in which it has failed to achieve its aims. Firstly, while the King will, no doubt, want to see his grandchildren (in Lily’s case, for only the second time in her life), there is no change in the icy relations between Harry and his brother, Prince William, I hear. ‘It’s a subject that’s not even discussed anymore,’ a friend of William and Catherine told me. ‘He made clear some time ago that he didn’t want anything to do with his brother, and that hasn’t changed, as far as I know.’ The friend added: ‘I doubt anyone knows what his views are on his father seeing Harry and Meghan, because he doesn’t talk about it.’ Just like the King’s dealings with his disgraced brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, William is happy to leave the ‘Harry problem’ to his father.

The British people still hate the Sussexes! The second way in which Project Thaw has failed, so far at least, is in its aim of ‘warming up’ the Sussexes’ relationship with the British people. I detect no more enthusiasm for the couple than there was last October. And that’s hardly a surprise when they have failed to apologise for their insults to the rest of the Royal Family. When I revealed the existence of Project Thaw back in October, a friend of the Sussexes told me: ‘Meghan will return to Britain before the year is out.’ The friend added, jokingly, that she would be ‘bearing humble pie’.

I’ve said this before about the “Project Thaw” crap, but it’s worth noting again: if there are high-level establishment figures and government figures trying to bring the Sussexes back, why aren’t William and Kate simply acquiescing? As apolitical royals, they should simply do as they’re told, correct? If the government and establishment wants the Sussexes to receive a royal welcome, then the Waleses need to submit to the will of Britain’s deep state, right?

As for “It’s a subject that’s not even discussed anymore” – lmao. The rota’s WhatsApp begs to differ, as do all of the reporters who have gotten huffy calls and emails from Kensington Palace in the past week. In fact, I doubt William has been able to shut his mouth about Harry and Meghan for a full day in the past fortnight. As for the reception Meghan will get in the UK… I think people will be genuinely happy to see her, and that will cause a lot of palace consternation too. And no, she’s not going to be apologetic or humbled. I’m begging these people to get their psychosexual degradation fantasies out of the British tabloids.

The Princess of Wales hasn’t been seen in more than a week, since she attended Ascot on June 17th. It occurred to me that her relatively light schedule in recent months is one big pout because she didn’t get her way on Prince George’s school. It’s also likely that she’s pouting in advance of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s mid-July visit too. In any case, it’s pretty rare these days to hear about Kate doing any work, especially when it’s a “private meeting.” But the Mail’s Richard Eden got an interesting tip – apparently, Kate hosted Melinda French Gates at Windsor Castle on Tuesday.

Bill Gates was once a regular at royal events, but the Microsoft founder’s friendship with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has made him almost as toxic as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

Bill’s ex-wife Melinda French Gates, who divorced her unfaithful husband after he maintained contact with Epstein, is, however, still welcome at the palace.

To prove it, the Princess of Wales invited her to Windsor Castle on Tuesday for private talks. It’s not known what she discussed with Royal Foundation patron Catherine, 44, but Melinda, 61, met her in her role as founder of Pivotal, a philanthropic organisation promoting women’s empowerment.

Gates told the US Congress House Oversight Committee this week that he had affairs with two Russian women, a bridge player and a nuclear physicist. The 70-year-old also admitted a third affair with a medical entrepreneur.

Love the mention of Melinda’s unfaithful ex-husband. As we’ve heard many times over the years, it seems like Melinda and Kate have both dealt with similar situations. And both of their husbands have connections to Jeffrey Epstein too, weird! It’s just a reminder that Melinda got the hell out of her marriage and she’s been so much happier ever since. Kate is what’s known as a “bitter-ender” though. Now, do we believe that Melinda is going to help fund one of Kate’s Early Years busywork projects? I hope not. All of Kate’s work is such a huge waste of time and resources. I expect that a bright woman like Melinda would see that.

People always have strong feelings about Jane Austen adaptations. Me, I’m “people.” There are so many generally acknowledged “great” adaptations of Austen’s classics, with some people preferring miniseries adaptations so that all of the nuances of Austen’s stories and characters can be told in full. I’m fine with several of the film versions though – say what you will, but the 1996 version of Emma starring Gwyneth Paltrow is a very faithful and well-done adaptation, although I love the 2009 miniseries with Romola Garai and Jonny Lee Miller too. My favorite version of Persuasion is the 2007 tv-movie with Sally Hawkins and Rupert Penry-Jones. And don’t get me started on Pride & Prejudice and the best Darcy and the best Elizabeth.

In the now 30-plus-year Austen-adaptation craze, it feels like Sense & Sensibility has always been treated so gently, with such care. Part of that is the success of the 1995 Ang Lee film, for which Emma Thompson won an Oscar for her absolutely brilliant adapted screenplay. That one also starred Hugh Grant, the late Alan Rickman (as Col. Brandon), Kate Winslet and Greg Wise. Perfect casting. It’s the gold-standard. Still, I enjoyed the 2008 miniseries starring Hattie Morahan and Charity Wakefield. Well, now they’ve made a new feature film version. Daisy Edgar-Jones as Elinor. Esmé Creed-Miles as Marianne. George MacKay as Edward. Herbert Nordrum as Col. Brandon. Frank Dillane as Willoughby. Yesterday, the trailer was released:

At this point, I know that every generation likes to remake their own versions of the classics, but this definitely looks like “inspired by Joe Wright’s version of Pride & Prejudice.” The dirty-looking hair may be period-accurate, but it’s distracting! The one thing I like is that they’ve made Marianne seem very young and girlish, which is accurate to the story. But yeah… why do this when an absolutely perfect adaptation exists?

PS… the tagline on the poster is AWFUL!!!

Mackenzie Shirilla will remain in prison for the murder of her boyfriend Dominic Russo and friend Davion Flanagan.

The 21-year-old, whose involvement in a deadly 2022 car crash was documented in Netflix’s The Crash, was an appeal by the Supreme Court of Ohio, according to legal documents obtained by E! News.

Shirilla filed a notice of appeal earlier this year, with her legal team saying her case “presents substantial constitutional questions and matters of great public and great general interest” after her post-conviciton relief petition was rejected due to being filed one day late from her deadline.

In response, prosecutors argued in a May filing that Shirilla’s appeal “fails to present an issue of public or great general interest,” saying her claim “concerns only the untimely filing of a post-conviction petition due to the mistake of counsel.”

Ultimately, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio Sharon L. Kennedy refused to review Shirilla’s case, writing in a June 23 decision that she “declines to accept jurisdiction of the appeal.”

E! News has reached out to Shirilla’s attorney for comment but hasn’t heard back.

Shirilla is currently serving two concurrent 15 years to life sentences for killing Russo, 20, and Flanagan, 19, on July 31, 2022, when the Toyota Camry she was driving smashed into a brick wall at over 100 mph.

During her trial, prosecutors alleged Shirilla “chose a course of death and destruction” by purposefully crashing the car. Meanwhile, the aspiring influencer maintained her innocence, saying she had no memory of what happened before the collision.

In her first interview from prison, Shirilla affirmed that she had “no intent whatsoever” on Russo, with whom she was in an on-and-off relationship, and their friend Flanagan.

“I was a driver of a tragedy,” she said in The Crash, “but I’m not a murderer.”
Shirilla added, “I try to wake up and be the best person I can be every day, stay out of trouble. There’s not a moment that doesn’t pass where I don’t think about them.”

Good. Mackenzie is exactly where she belongs. And who knows, maybe sometime before 2037, she’ll have grown up enough to have availed herself of some of the resources available to her at the Ohio Reformatory for Women. I looked them up before — back when we heard Mackenzie was complaining of being “bored” in prison — and they have several programs she could be doing for her own education and towards job training. Personally, I’d dive into the educational front to start with. She’s college-aged, so it would be a way to keep up with her peers from high school. It would also be an opportunity for her to learn what’s wrong with the sentence “There’s not a moment that doesn’t pass where I don’t think about them.” Sorry not sorry, I can’t stop the syntax snark.

I finally got a chance to read this Times of London piece about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming UK visit: “Will the King finally be photographed with Harry’s children? For the Sussexes, who plan to visit Britain this summer, a picture of Charles with Archie and Lilibet would be the ‘money shot’.” It’s more of an in-depth summary of where things stand around the visit, and I have to say, Buckingham Palace has clearly briefed the press about the visit in recent days. Throughout the week, the palace had made sure to underline one particular detail: that King Charles has offered royal accommodation to the Sussexes but they haven’t accepted (yet). But it’s interesting that the palace is so openly discussing all of it with the rota, right? And they’re certainly trying to dictate the talking points too. This piece actually reminded me of a forgotten story – last year, the palace briefed the Sun about a gift Prince Harry gave to Charles when they met for tea, and Harry was absolutely livid about it. What will Harry make of his father’s courtiers doing a running commentary about this July visit? Anyway, let’s go through the palace’s talking points:

A potential photo of Archie & Lili with Charles: For the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, it would be the ultimate money shot. The next twist in the saga that has launched them onto streaming platforms in the US, where their currency remains forever linked to their royal titles. Even in a world of royal “what ifs”, there are those familiar with both camps who fear no such picture could ever be taken for several reasons.

Is Harry actually bringing the kids over or is it all about security? First, some question whether Harry truly intends to bring his children at all or whether it’s a form of “emotional blackmail” over his continuing security row with the UK government. Harry has said that without police protection, he cannot in good conscience bring his children to the UK. Last year he was granted a risk management board to review his security status. Now, the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec), the body that meets to advise on the security provision for royals and VIPs, is set to advise an independent chair about whether Harry should be entitled to 24/7 armed police escorts. Could this well-publicised intention to bring his children come from Harry’s frustration to get a result? If so, he’s waited long enough.

The “money shot” photo: Second, even if Harry did bring his children, is it possible that courtiers would leave Charles exposed to a photo opportunity with them? Or will Meghan and Harry be asked to hand over any devices on the way in? Queen Elizabeth reportedly denied a request from Harry and Meghan to bring a photographer to a meeting with their children when the Sussexes came from America for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022. If any family snaps exist with Elizabeth, they have yet to be published.

The palace doesn’t want to get caught briefing the press! Four years on, every visit by the duke appears to elicit much consternation from the Palace, who are at pains not to be seen to be briefing the press. When Harry came to the UK alone last year, Charles granted his younger son a 50-minute meeting at Clarence House over tea and cake. Harry was apparently thrilled with the summit and went off with a huge smile on his face. When reports emerged shortly afterwards that the meeting had paved the way for a deeper reconciliation, one insider told the press: “Whoever is behind [the stories] seems to have mistaken a brief tea and a slice of cake for the Treaty of Versailles.” Palace aides were then baffled and bemused when Camp Sussex appeared to be outraged that the so-called men in grey suits had leaked details of a family photograph that Harry had gifted the King during the visit.

An admission that the palace has been briefing: Wise heads on the Palace side are tremendously cautious not to rock the boat where Harry is concerned. It would seem to be the right course of action, given that the drama over the plans for Harry’s trip has begun long before he has arrived. Last week Buckingham Palace was compelled to confirm that the King had offered Harry and his family accommodation for their visit this summer, presumably to get ahead of any potential “mean King” stories emerging.

The Sussexes aren’t confirming anything to the palace: At this stage, however, the King is unclear whether Harry intends to accept the offer of free digs at a royal B&B. In this case, there are mitigating circumstances in Harry’s defence; the Sussexes are still finalising their programme in the UK, so details such as accommodation have yet to be ironed out.

Prince William will scatter into the wind: Whether [the Sussexes stay] in London, Windsor or Sandringham, William is likely to make himself scarce. Surely he’ll be hoping that England will call for an extra cheerleader in the football World Cup in the US, requiring him to put the Atlantic safely back in the middle between the warring brothers….Five years after the [Oprah] interview, the Waleses appear to have moved on to a more serene plateau. William has adopted a dignified silence, planting a flag in the moral high ground. After all, since the Sussexes’ criticism, he has had to navigate his wife’s “brutal” cancer battle, which he described as “probably the hardest year in my life”. There’s little to be gained from re-entering the boxing ring with Harry.

Camilla will scatter into the wind: As for Camilla, she’s staying well clear. She is unlikely to get involved in a discussion with Harry and Meghan. Who can blame her? In the promotion for his autobiography, Harry said that she was “dangerous” and described her as “a villain”. She’s most likely to want to protect the King from any inopportune meetings while staying out of the way as much as possible at Ray Mill House, her home in Gloucestershire.

Meghan doesn’t want to be photographed with Charles? Would Meghan even want to come and meet the King with Harry and their children? Would she allow Harry to bring them alone? Even if she pulled off the PR coup of the decade and managed to get her children a photo op with the King, she is surely unlikely to be in the picture herself.

The preview of Thomas Markle’s reemergence: Outside the royal circle, of course, there’s another grandfather who has never met his grandchildren: Thomas Markle, Meghan’s father, who has never even met his royal son-in-law. After his leg was amputated in the Philippines in December 2025, he told The Mail on Sunday: “I don’t want to die estranged from Meghan. I want to meet my grandkids.” That is now looking unlikely.

We saw several of these talking points in Jennie Bond’s piece as well, including the Thomas Markle preview. I can only assume that they’ll drag him out closer to the Sussexes’ visit, probably two weekends from now. This piece made it even clearer that the palace is trying hard to dictate the narrative around this visit, and that the palace is a leaky sieve. Not just Buckingham Palace either – it’s also clear that the rota is getting contradictory talking points from Kensington Palace too. That’s what happened last year around Harry’s visit, and William’s subsequent nervous breakdown. Everything will be heightened around this trip though, because of Meghan and the kids. There will be plentiful shenanigans afoot, and everyone needs to stay aware.

Last year, I covered an interview with nepo baby Sunday Rose, aka Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s older daughter. Sunday is 17 years old, and she’ll be 18 this summer. Nicole has already started to “nepotize” Sunday into the fashion industry and it reminds me a lot of how Cindy Crawford pushed Kaia Gerber into modeling back in the day. Sunday is clearly enjoying herself and she dreams of being a filmmaker eventually. Anyway, when I covered her interview last year, I thought she came across as well-adjusted and pretty normal, given her celebrity parents. I still think that – she’s just a kid, she’s trying to figure things out, and I’m grateful that she didn’t spend this new Elle Australia interview complaining that it’s hard out here for nepo babies. Some highlights from Elle:

Raised in Nashville: “We have all four seasons in a big way; like we get lots of snow in the winter, amber leaves in the fall and then it’s scorching hot in summer.”

Growing up with privilege: “I definitely gained a lot of interest from those experiences and especially being privileged enough to experience them at a young age. My mum is someone who has always been so creative and my biggest inspiration in life. She’s a key part of everything I do.”

Walking her first runway in October 2024: “[During the show] I was thinking about my chemistry homework and hoping my teacher would give me an extension on the deadline. I was also thinking about how I was so excited to see everyone who was sitting at the show. But when I got out onto the runway, I couldn’t see a single person because I was so focused on what was ahead of me and walking in those heels.”

Life lessons: “Something that’s always been followed in my house is doing, not just saying. It basically means that if you say you’re going to do something, stick to your word and do it. Don’t just talk about how much you want to, but actually put your mind to it and get it done.”

Nicole’s advice: “The biggest piece of industry advice Mum has given to me is to always be on time. There’s always going to be something with an early call time that you don’t want to get up for, but it’s really important to be on time because it shows that you’re prepared and grateful to be there.”

Her upcoming 18th birthday: Sunday will turn 18 in July and is headed to Europe with family and friends to celebrate. “I am super excited,” she says. “Even though I love being 17 and will be sad when that’s over, 18 is obviously such a fun age.”

She loves Australia too: “I attended school in Sydney for a while, so some of my closest friends are there, and they are always so fun to see. My favourite thing about Australia has to be the beaches and all the acai bowls. We don’t have them as much in Nashville.”

It feels like Sunday is being helped by the fact that A) she’s not a carbon copy of her mother and B) she actually flies under the radar, even though she’s now regularly walking runways and doing more fashion stuff. Like, she hasn’t gotten the (creepy) attention of someone like Kaia Gerber. Sunday just goes off and does her runway work and then goes back to high school and lives the life of a relatively anonymous high-schooler. Anyway, I rarely root for nepo-babies – they have enough going for them without my help – but I’m sort of fine with this one.

Almost one year ago exactly, Natasha Archer suddenly abandoned her employer, the Princess of Wales. Archer had been Kate’s executive assistant and stylist for well over a decade. What was super-interesting about Archer’s exit was that the “break-up” seemed very messy. Like, people were calling it a “divorce” and Kate seemed scared that Natasha would spill all or some of Kate’s real story. Soon after the split, Natasha made her Instagram public and it became a whole other scandal, as Natasha was following dozens of the Duchess of Sussex’s friends and close associates. It definitely looked like Natasha and Kate were keeping a close eye on Meghan AND Meghan’s circle. Since Archer’s exit from royal work, she’s divorced her husband, started a fashion-consultancy and started a new site to get clients. Everything about her site and her social media seems extremely influenced by Meghan’s aesthetic. Well, check out what Archer recently posted on her Instagram. Bar for bar with Meghan’s As Ever, I swear to god. Even the Daily Mail called her out:

The Princess of Wales’s former PA Natasha Archer seemingly channelled Meghan Markle in a photoshoot for her newly-launched style consultancy – down to the beige interiors and her outfit. Natasha, 38, posted a snap of herself wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, as she posed pensively in a sun-soaked kitchen, complete with wooden beams, a rustic-looking table, and statement lights.

Catherine’s former right-hand woman also appears to have taken a leaf out of Meghan’s marketing playbook, as she reflected on ‘bringing clarity, confidence, and ease to moments that matter the most’.

Natasha, who recently attended Royal Ascot, said: ‘One of the things I love most about my work is that it’s always looking ahead. Whilst everyone is enjoying summer, I’m quietly beginning conversations with clients around the world about the months ahead; from seasonal wardrobes and international travel to key engagements and milestone occasions.’

It harked back to an earlier promo for the Duchess of Sussex’s lifestyle brand, as Meghan, 44, appeared in a video wearing a very similar outfit while flogging As Ever’s ‘sweet, comforting, and endlessly useful’ set of fruit spreads.

Natasha, who finished her look with gold accessories and pumps, set up her styling business as she mused it ‘begins with understanding’ and spoke of her desire to ‘create something elevated’. The musings are not dissimilar to Meghan’s regular posts about wanting to ‘elevate the everyday into the exceptional’ through her products.

Something nice… I’m glad the Mail is calling it out for what it is. Usually, those people struggle with pattern-recognition when it comes to who is actually copying whom. Granted, it seems like the British media is equally Meghan-obsessed, but the Mail isn’t pulling this out of their ass. What Archer has been doing has been obvious for months. It’s creepy as hell.

On Thursday, both King Charles and Prince William released summaries of their tax returns. They “voluntarily” pay income tax, but neither had specified what they paid in taxes since QEII died in 2022. When he became Prince of Wales, William actually changed his father’s habit of disclosing information about the Duchy of Cornwall’s profits and taxable income. Well, it’s taken three-plus years and a lot of pitiful emotional-support polls, but now William has revealed how much he’s paid in income tax.

Prince William is richer than the King with a net worth via the Duchy of Cornwall of £1.2billion – and has paid more than £20 million in tax since becoming Prince of Wales, it has been revealed.

It emerged as accounts were published for the Sovereign Grant – the funding from the Treasury that is used by the royal household to pay for official duties – as well as the King’s personal fortune from the Duchy of Lancaster and the Duchy of Cornwall, which Prince William inherited when he became Prince of Wales.

The figures showed for the first time that future king William is richer than his father, with a net worth via the Duchy of £1.2billion. The prince received a private income of £21.6 million in 2025-26, the latest Duchy accounts showed.

In contrast, Charles was listed in the Sunday Times Rich List as having a personal fortune of £640 million – an increase of £30 million from the previous year.

In a bid to be more transparent with the way the royal family is funded, the King and William have revealed their private tax payments. Figures show William contributed £7.76m in income and capital gains tax in 2024-25, and £8.34m in 2023-24.

It comes as it has been revealed that William has decided he will no longer personally benefit from the controversial £1.5million annual rent generated by the abandoned Dartmoor Prison. William has asked for the sum to be removed from the multimillion-pound income he receives as heir to the throne from the Duchy of Cornwall from 2026-27 onwards, with the money spent on regenerating the local community instead.

In 2024 it emerged the duchy signed a £37million deal in 2022, before Charles became King and William the Prince of Wales, to lease Dartmoor Prison to the Ministry of Justice, paying £1.5 million a year over 25 years, and a deal with the Ministry of Defence to allow the armed forces to train on Dartmoor land. But the category C prison in Devon has been empty since July 2024 after high levels of radon, a toxic gas that occurs naturally in soil and rocks and can cause lung cancer, were recorded in prisoners’ accommodation.

A community-led regeneration fund will be launched next year to offer social, economic and environmental benefits to Princetown, the isolated rural community next to the prison.

First of all, I’m glad William is no longer profiting from the Dartmoor prison situation. Second of all, William is not “worth” £1.2 billion. The Duchy of Cornwall, a feudal real-estate empire of slums, farms, seabeds, coastlines and parking lots, is worth that much. It’s not William’s personal piggy bank, even if he thinks it is. Even if he thinks he can just sell off duchy land and tuck the profits away god-knows-where. I hope Parliament continues to pull at the Windsors’ financial strings too, because most of these duchy holdings should be government-owned or publicly owned.

In recent days, it’s been interesting to see the security aspect get lost in all of the reporting about the Sussex family’s upcoming UK visit. It’s not even a conspiracy – Prince Harry and Meghan don’t want people to know what kind of security their family will have, so they’re not talking about it. The palace can’t confirm anything on the record because they would basically be admitting that King Charles had the authority to grant security to the Sussexes this whole time. Charles and the courtiers are over a barrel, because if they brief anything false or anything Harry doesn’t like, Harry will grab the nearest microphone and start spilling all. So, Page Six is trying to touch the third rail here – they’re saying that the Sussexes will travel with their own private security, as they understand that their trip will be a huge spectacle.

Prince Harry is expected to bring his own security team with his family visits London next month, as sources said the renegade royal and wife Meghan Markle are preparing for a “huge spectacle.”

Harry — who pays about $3 million a year for private security in the US — has yet to be afforded VIP security after battling the British Home Office for 24/7 armed police escorts, and is in a “holding pattern,” we’re told. But he has been offered a royal residence with private security for his stay with Markle and their kids Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.

One source in the know said the family won’t fly by private jet, but they will have their own bodyguards, adding, “Harry always travels with one of two of his own security team.”

The family’s first time back to the UK in four years is expected to draw a huge amount of attention. The Sussexes’ trip has been planned to mark the one-year countdown until the Invictus Games takes place in Birmingham next summer, from July 7-10, and Harry wants to use the time to reunite with his father, King Charles, who has barely seen Archie and Lilibet.

“They know it will make the biggest spectacle,” said the source of Harry and Markle. “They will want photos of them being ‘royal.’”

Obvious story is obvious – regardless of whether the Sussexes get police protection (which I think they will), they’re still going to have their private security in tow, likely liaising with the royal protection officers. And yes, some events will be a “spectacle.” I know the “royal way” is for the Windsors to grimly stagger around as literal twos of people stand behind ten rows of barricades, but that’s not what will happen when the Sussexes come to town. H&M will draw large crowds and the crowds won’t be full of Not My King signs and Republic protesters either. Incidentally, Harry and Meghan aren’t the ones turning this visit into a spectacle, that’s on the hysterical British press and the Windsors. (PS… I think the “spectacle” quote reads like something from a William rant, basically “they’re going to get so much attention, waaaaaah.”)

I’m surprised by just how much attention Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have gotten this year. It’s arguably all negative attention, and the root of all of it has to be their parents’ connections to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. It feels like it’s been open season on Beatrice and Eugenie all year. There are tabloid attacks on their marriages, a huge backlash to their rentfree London homes, public debates about whether they should be welcomed at family events and on and on. The Mail recently claimed that Prince Andrew is coaching his daughters too, and that he’s arguing that they should not slink away or disappear. So everything seems like it’s a holding pattern right now. Well, that just means there’s an opening to once again point out that Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s marriage looks like it’s really struggling.

Princess Beatrice’s marriage to property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi is being tested amid tensions over her disgraced father, ex-Prince Andrew, according to author Paula Froelich.

Whispers of trouble in paradise have grown louder as Mapelli Mozzi, 42, has spent long stretches of time jetting around the globe without Beatrice, 37, visiting Los Angeles and Palm Beach on a three-week business trip in January, and posting pictures from a luxury island resort off the Miami coast in March. Beatrice stayed behind in the United Kingdom with the couple’s two young children, Sienna, 4, and Athena, 1.

Earlier this month, Piers Morgan posted photos showing Mapelli Mozzi at Le Club 55, the exclusive St. Tropez beach club known for its lavish daytime parties. The Daily Mail later reported that Beatrice had joined her husband on the French Riviera getaway but had fallen ill and stayed in bed while he went out to party.

“She called him her rock, but here’s the problem. If you’ve got a rock, you would think that the rock would stick around in stormy weather,” Froelich said on The Royalist Podcast. “He’s been in and out and in and out all year, you know, going back and forth to the States. And then they took a lovely, fun, romantic trip to Saint Tropez at the invite of their friend Gabriela Peacock. And she got sick. So what did her rock do? Well, he left her in bed and went out and partied.”

Mapelli Mozzi, who wed Beatrice in 2020, told the Mail that his extensive solo travels were driven by business commitments.“As you well know, it is completely normal for a business owner to travel for work. It happens in every industry,” he said.

Froelich suggested that Mapelli Mozzi is trying to distance Beatrice from her father, fearing that his father-in-law’s scandals could harm his business ventures.

“I think Edo is kind of looking at Beatrice and saying, ‘No, do not have contact with your father. Don’t go around him,’” she told host Tom Sykes. “I think it’s much more to do with his own business… which has, of course, taken off since he left his ex, Dara Wang, and immediately hooked up with Beatrice.”

Froelich continued, “So of course he’s saying, ‘Don’t go there, don’t go near your father, he’s toxic, and my business will fail.’ But then again, at the same time… what did they need the money for? They’re living for free off of lovely Uncle Charlie.”

Do I think Beatrice’s marriage is in terrible shape? Yes. Do I think Edo is a sleaze? Yes. Do I think that Beatrice and Eugenie are being blamed for their parents’ mess? Also yes. All those things are true at once. And Edo isn’t wrong for encouraging Beatrice to cut off Andrew, btw. Edo can be the worst husband ever and he’s still right about that one thing. Beatrice has always been entirely too involved with her parents’ schemes and catastrophes. I wish Bea and Edo would just move out of the country and start over somewhere else.
