This cozy quilt is a wonderful way to celebrate the season and features a mix of prints from some of my previous fall fabric collections. I love how the different prints come together to create a warm, timeless look that feels like fall in every stitch. The quilt features scrappy pumpkins and tumbling leaves all around! And, stay tuned, this quilt is the first in my “Simply” series, so you can look forward to more seasonal variations coming soon!

To complete the Simply Fall quilt you will need:

• Background: 2-3/4 yards

A Cozy Quilt for Fall

The Simply Fall quilt finishes at 64″ x 70″, making it the perfect size for snuggling under on the couch with a good book, a cup of coffee, or your favorite fall movie.

It would also make a beautiful addition to your fall home décor. Drape it over the back of a sofa, fold it at the end of a bed, or keep it nearby for those cool autumn evenings.

And because the quilt is beginner friendly, it’s a great project if you’re new to quilting or simply looking for a fun, relaxing sew for the season.

Use Your Favorite Fall Fabrics

One of my favorite things about Simply Fall is that you can make it using fabrics you already have in your stash!

The quilt shown here features prints from several of my previous fall fabric lines, making it a fun way to revisit some favorite fabrics. You could also mix in your own favorite autumn prints, pumpkins, leaves, plaids, florals, and low-volume backgrounds to create a look that is uniquely yours.

This would be a great quilt to make from your fall fabric stash or even a collection of leftover fat quarters!

I recently decided that my sewing space needed an update. While I’ve loved my previous layout, I always find inspiration in moving things around and trying something new. This time I enlisted the help of chat GPT to help me figure out a new layout for my space. In hindsight, I should have been more specific on the measurements of all of my furniture and my room size. Instead, I took a photo of my room and asked it to make me a new layout that might be more functional. Here’s the photo I uploaded…

This is my previous layout. While I loved the open feeling, I really wanted to get more use out of my table space. I have my machine on the left side and so it left only half of my table as usable space.

I added a little input oh my goals and here’s what chat came back with…

While the results weren’t exactly accurate, it did give me a few ideas! I decided to try my large table in the middle of the room. I was definitely hesitant because my room is only about 13′ x 14′. And my table is about 46″ x 78″ which means that it takes up a significant amount of my space! It’s been about a month, and so far I’m actually really enjoying the space.

One of my criteria was that my desk faced the windows. Unfortunately, I work at my computer more than I sew, and I like being able to see outside. I also like having my sewing machine near my computer because I’m frequently sewing and editing patterns at the same time. Being able to go back and forth between the two is nice. I also wanted my machine near my ironing board to help speed things up for me when sewing. That said, it might be better to have it on the right side of my machine, but I think the overall layout works better this way.

As for my table…It’s so nice to be able to have the entire table free to use for cutting, laying out fabrics, arranging blocks, and generally having enough space to work. I think I’m going to really enjoy having the extra working space! Even though it’s a little tight on the back side of the table, I’ve found I have plenty of room to sew and work.

I kept my Pink Sherpa chair in the room as well, even though it’s a bit tight in the corner. I love having a chair in here. My kids and husband all come and sit throughout the day to chat with me and I love having a little company! I originally wanted the chair to sit in to cross stitch, but honestly I rarely use it. It’s mostly just for company.

The last thing I added to my room was a cozy pink rug under my main table. It really softens the room and also gives me something comfy to stand on when I’m spending time at the cutting table. I love the warm touch it gives and I think the colors will go nicely with my Christmas decor as well!

This piece shows its USA pride with vintage trucks flying the flag, a few fireworks, and a charming cottage all decorated for the 4th of July. I’m so excited to introduce my newest quilt pattern! This quilt is a fun patriotic design featuring classic churn dash blocks with a playful surprise inside — double pinwheels spinning right in the center.

This design mixes timeless tradition with a little extra movement and charm. The churn dash blocks create a strong, classic framework, while the double pinwheels bring energy and whimsy to the quilt.

This quilt is perfect for summer picnics and BBQs! I chose patriotic colors, but you can make this quilt in any color way you like! Here are a few ideas of how you can use this quilt in your home:

A Fresh Take on Patriotic Colors

The sample is made using a mix of prints from my various fabric collections including Heartland, Bloom, and Sew Quilty! The backing is a large floral print from my Homespun line.

Instead of sticking to the traditional red, white, and blue palette alone, I decided to add soft pinks to the mix. The pink gives the quilt a sweeter, more summery feel while still keeping that patriotic spirit.

One of my favorite details in this quilt is the low volume sashing. Rather than using plain background fabric, the sashing adds subtle texture and movement between the blocks.

Those quiet prints help frame each churn dash block while still letting the pinwheels shine. It’s a small detail that makes a big difference in the overall look of the quilt.

Classic Blocks, Fresh Style

If you love traditional quilt blocks but enjoy a little creative twist, this pattern is such a fun one to make. The churn dash blocks give it that classic quilt feel, while the double pinwheels add motion and personality to every block.

I absolutely loved watching this quilt come together, and I can’t wait to see the versions you create!

I’ve made it in patriotic colors, but you can make it in any color way you like. Here are a few samples to get you started.

Backing Details

I used a creamy large floral print from my Homespun line. It’s filled beautiful larger florals including blue, aqua, red, pink, and a little green.

I used a blue gingham for the binding to tie it all together. And don’t forget to add a little label to your projects as well! This cute personalized label is from Everemblem. They have great personalized label options, I’ve chosen the foldable labels which are perfect for adding to your binding.
