Rife with Monty Python's signature absurdity, the tale finds Brian's life paralleling Biblical lore, albeit with many more laughs.

n 1938, young orphan Liesel (Sophie Nélisse) arrives at the home of her new foster parents, Hans (Geoffrey Rush) and Rosa (Emily Watson). When Hans, a kindly house painter, learns that Liesel cannot read, he teaches the child the wonders of the written language. Liesel grows to love books, even rescuing one from a Nazi bonfire. Though Liesel's new family barely scrape by, their situation becomes even more precarious when they secretly shelter a Jewish boy whose father once saved Hans' life.

Next Paul counter strikes Pips impatience for long winded films by pulling out the longest and windiest of them all. the All time classic Lawrence of Arabia to find out if nothing truly is written.

Mr Pip is a film that covers the Bougainville island civil war , and is beautiful and brutal in equal measure. it was a hard watch, but did it pay dividends ?

 

Next we look at Micheal Catons film Last Cab to Darwin which tries to tackle what seems every heavy issue in Australian society and may very well have gotten away with it.... perhaps.

 

This week Pip and Paul go for a leisurely cruise down Psycho boulevard in the eerily brilliant but quirky film Nightcrawler, brought to you by Pips mum (well done Mum).

Next, its time.....Don your black cape, warm up the Batmobile and get ready to strike fear into the hearts of villains everywhere. Yes its time to put bat man through his bat paces in his most celebrated movie to date, The Dark Night.

This week we break away from the deeply depressing to flit about with to comedy that will leave you laughing. a timeful classic dogma, that is starting to creak in this new age and the joyous Australian classic, Priscilla Queen of the desert that will leave you feeling just FABULOUS! 

The second film 1984 is placed in a sealed section in recognition of its dark content and heavy political undertones to today, you will be thouroughly warned.....

The first film of the night is 2007 Sunshine offered up by Listener Stu, and is given the considered and conceited treatment.

the second film is the brand new release of Shakespeares great tragedy King Lear. The film boasts a cast of all time greats like Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson supported by top rate actors, the conversation is long and hard fought with some suprises perhaps. 

Also we take a trip back with Hysteria, into the height of the Victorian age to when a  young doctor electrifies the medical world with his revolutionary treatments, and sets london society abuzz in his attempt to get his girl. Its very stimulating stuff.....sorry pip i couldnt help myself....
