Making your own stress ball is super EASY! Below you will find the supplies you need and some basic instructions to get you started.

DIY Stress Ball With Orbeez

Supplies:

• Orbeez or other water beads
• Balloon(s)
• Water
• Empty water bottle
• Scissors

Instructions:

First you will want to make your Orbeez with clean drinking water. It will take at least 3 hours for them to full develop. You could make these ahead of time and keep them in an airtight container or a ziploc bag.

Once your Orbeez/water beads are ready and you are ready to make your DIY Orbeez Stress Ball put them in your empty water bottle.

Next put your balloon over the top of the water bottle.  I used a yellow balloon but if you have a clear balloon your stress ball could come out really colorful!

Flip the bottle upside down. Gently squeeze the bottle and allow your balloon to fill up with the Orbeez.

Once your balloon is full, pull the balloon off the water bottle and make a knot. I put two knots in mine to make sure it was tight. With your scissors trim off excess balloon at the end of the knot.

You now have your own DIY Stress Ball that you can use squeeze when things get a little stressful. Just don’t squeeze too hard because it could break and water beads can make a mess!

What I like about these poured paint ornaments is they are EASY, inexpensive and FUN to make. This is a great craft idea that both adults and kids can enjoy together.

Here are the supplies that you will need:

• Clear plastic ball ornaments with removable tops
• Acrylic paint
• Small cups or containers
• Ribbon or ornament hooks/hangers (optional)

For these ornaments I used the Apple Barrel acrylic paint that I found at Walmart for only $.50 cents a bottle. The ornaments I found at my local Dollar Tree for a 2-pack for $1. The ornaments that I bought came with little ribbon to hang the ornament but if yours do not, you will need some ribbon or ornament hangers too!

Poured Paint Ornaments Tutorial 

You will first want to start with removing the top from your ornament.

Next part is where is starts to get fun! Take your paint bottle and squirt a small amount of paint into the bottom of the ornament. Turn the ornament a little and take another color and squirt a little bit of that color into the ornament. If you have a third color, turn the ornament and add a squirt of that color too!

Once you have the desired amount of paint in the ornament, start turning and twisting slowly to allow paint to coat the inside of the ornament. This is one of the best parts, watching the colors mix together to make your own unique look.

Keep turning which gives it a marbleized look, but make sure not to turn all the way upside down because the paint will DRIP out and make a mess. Paint usually doesn’t remove very easily either.

Once you get tired of turning the ornament place it in a paper cup or container to allow paint to continue to coat the inside of the ornament and also allow the excess paint to drip into container for easy cleanup.

You will want to leave the ornament in the cup draining for at least 6-12 hours depending on how thick the paint is. You will want to make sure that the ornament is dry before hanging on your tree otherwise the paint will slowly move to bottom of the ornament and may take hours or days to harden. It will also ruin the look of the ornament if you hang it before it is dry.

What is neat is the marbled look of the paint inside the cup!

I also found even bigger clear plastic ornaments at the Dollar Tree that gives you even more room in the ornament to paint! These of course were $1 for one big ornament but they would be perfect for making gifts with.

Once your ornaments are completely dry they are ready to hang on the tree. Or be put in a box and wrapped to go under a tree.

I bought a gallon of Elmer’s Glue and have been having a blast with my kids making scented slime in a variety of colors including some Purple Lavender Scented Slime that is my FAVORITE since I think that playing with slime is therapeutic and the scent of lavender can be used as a natural stress relief.

To make your own lavender scented slime at home you will only need a few things.

1. Elmer’s Glue
2. Borax
3. Purple food dye or liquid colorant
4. Lavender essential oil or fragrance oil
5. Warm water
6. Glitter (optional)

Once you have all your supplies making slime is really EASY and fun to make! You can get creative with the colors and even add things in your slime like glitter or little foam beads. Watch my video below that shows you how to make purple lavender scented slime!

This is a fun craft for kids to make that they can play with or also give as a gift. These can make great paperweights for moms, dads, grandparents and teachers with a desk!

Supplies & Tools You Will Need

• Clear glass gems
• Scrapbook paper
• Googly eyes
• Thin ribbon
• Foam sheet
• Glue
• Scissors

You can get really creative when making these little glass bugs! I found the clear glass gems, googly eyes and foam sheets at the Dollar Store. You don’t have to use scrapbook paper but Michael’s had a deal for 6 pages for $1 which was a deal. If you don’t have scrapbook paper you can use fabric or even print your own favorite wallpaper to make your own paper. For the tail you can use ribbon, string, raffia or whatever else you may have that can resemble a tail!

First you will want to trace and cut the bottom or flat part of your glass gems on the scrapbook paper and foam sheet. I would recommend tracing the back part of the paper/foam or trim your tracing.

Next glue the scrapbook paper pattern on the bottom of your glass gem. I prefer to use a glue gun with hot glue as it clear and dries fast.

Like I said you can get really creative with these and make them each with a different background.

Next add eyes to your bug. With the eyes you can also get creative. I bought both black googly eyes and colored googly eyes both at the Dollar Store.

After your eyes have dried you will want to add their tails. I used some thin ribbon that I had plus I thought I would use a piece of raffia to make a fun tail too!

Next add the foam pieces that you cut earlier to the bottom on top of the tails to keep them secure.

Once the foam is dry your bugs are ready to be played with, put in your garden or maybe given as a gift!

You can use any sand that you want but I bought some pretty blue sand on Amazon for this craft project.

How To Make Sand Foam

Step one: Add your sand in your container. Add a small amount of shaving cream.

Step Two: Mix with your hands. Then gradually add more shaving cream until you reach the desired consistency.

Step Three: Add toys or whatever else you want to your sand foam! I bought blue sand which was perfect for my Finding Dory figurines.

This is a fun craft project for all ages! Sand Foam is also perfect for sensory exploration too!
