Our Verdict

I’ll pdate this post with new postmates codes as they come out.

Capital One Shopping offers $20 back when signing up for Squarespace. You’ll do better with the TCB $50 offering. However, if you poke around, you should be able to get an elevated email offer from Capital One Shopping:

• Get $300 to sign up for Squarespace. Others got a lower amount of $190 or $290.
• You can get double that ($600/$580/$380) for the more expensive Squarespace plans.
• Use code W8F50 on Squarespace to get 50% off any plan. 
• AmEx Business Gold offers $150 statement credit for Squarespace purchases each calendar year. Activation is required in the AmEx login (direct enrollment link). 

Our Verdict

The basic Squarespace plan is $228 which turns into $114 after the 50% discount. You’ll get that all back from the AmEx Business Gold (if activated), and then you’ll pocket the $190-$300 from the portal.

Some people might opt to do the Plus plan which is $298 after the promo code. In this scenario you’re paying $148 out of pocket (after getting $150 back from AmEx) with the hopes of getting more from the portal. Even if you have the $600 offer, a lot of people will just opt to do the $300 moneymaker with zero risk instead of the $600 moneymaker with $148 of risk. If you have the $190/$380 offer version, it makes little sense to pay $148 with the hopes of getting an extra $190.

Regardless, this looks like an easy win with no risk. I got myself targeted today for the $190 offer by poking around yesterday. I’m going to wait another day to see if I get the better $300 offer, otherwise I’ll just be happy with the $190 version.

Our Verdict

Looks like you need $1,000,000 in income and investable assets to even be eligible. Additionally only balances in the checking/money market account count for the $100,000/$250,000/$500,000 deposit that is required. Normal money market account from First Horizon earns 0.15% so unless this private client version is significantly better this isn’t remotely worth considering. First Horizon does have two bonuses that are worth considering:

Rakuten is offering up to an additional $150 when applying for a Bank of America card through its portal. Rates are as follows:

Users that have elected to receive Membership Rewards points instead of cashback will see $0 and be ineligible to earn anything.

Affiliates can sometimes earn well in excess of $500 for a successful applicant. Normally shopping portals are forbidden from offering incentives on credit cards as other affiliate partners don’t like it. Rakuten must have negotiated this deal specially with Bank of America to get around these clauses. (We don’t use credit card affiliate links on Doctorofcredit ever.)

Rakuten launched something similar with Chase that was at one point offering $300/30,000 additional points. At launch that was a smaller bonus so it’s possible Rakuten will increase these Bank of America offers. It’s important to note that this $150/$75 is in addition to the standard sign up bonuses on these cards which are:

Our Verdict

Spruce Money is built by H&R Block. This isn’t as good as the $100 referral bonus previously offered if you’re in two player mode or were able to refer some people but the base bonus is the same. Some people might prefer to see if a bigger bonus comes along, others will prefer to lock in the $100. Terms also clearly state that this can’t be combined with referral links so please do not try to push your own $50 referrals if you have an existing account. Southwest has confirmed a new premium Chase card and airport lounges. There are also rumors that Chase will be updating the Freedom Flex & Aeroplan cards on 9/20. NFCU also has plans to refresh the Flagship Rewards card.

• The Square Cash Debit Card is now offering all customers something called ‘Cash Boost’. Basically you choose one place or category to earn cash back in. Some examples:
  • $1 off at coffee shops ($1.5 minimum spend)
  • $1 off at Subway ($1.5 minimum spend)
  • 5% off at Whole Foods
  • 10% off at Chick-fil-A
  • 15% off at Chipotle
  • 10% off at Panera
  • 15% off at Shake Shack
• You can change your boost once every 24 hours and you can use it once every 2 hours

Our Verdict

They tested a similar feature on a small subset of users, offering $1.5 back at coffee shops. $1 back at coffee shops is still great though, especially since those transactions are usually small and frequent (e.g daily cup) rather than one large purchase less often. Quite sad that this debit card has a better rewards program than the Chase Starbucks card. You should also still be able to get a $10 bonus for sending money via Square cash the first time.

Our Verdict

Previously there was a $100 bonus, but that was for University of Colorado students only. This is a much bigger bonus and open to more as well. Will add this to our list of the best bank account bonuses.
