Our Verdict

Not as good as the 7-Eleven or Speedway discounts unfortunately. You can find more ways to save money on fuel here. If you know of any other ways to stack this app discount with other offers share them below.

Original Post 2/17/26: 

Bank of America announced that reward tiers names would be changing in May, but not what the changes were. Then they announced that new incentives for people with high balances would be announced. 

We finally have details of the changes and it’s not good news. Here is what you need to know (% in brackets indicates credit card bonus):

• Current tiers:
  • No tier: $0-$19,999 (10% with active checking account)
  • Gold – $20k-$49.99k (25%)
  • Platinum – $50k-$99.99k (50%)
  • Platinum Honors – $100k-$999.99k (75%)
  • Diamond – $1m+ (75%)
• New tiers:
  • Member – $0-$29.99k (10%)
  • Preferred Plus – $30k-$99.99k (25%)
  • Preferred Honors – $100k-$999.99k (50%)
  • Premier – $1m+ (75%)

Main downgrade is earning the 75% credit card bonus now requires $1,000,000 in funds, previously that was only $100,000. Was really hoping we wouldn’t see this program nerfed this badly. It’s hard to justify keeping that much invested with Bank of America especially when you consider the opportunity cost of chasing brokerage bonuses. 

According to the fine print the business program is not being nerfed (at least not yet). Additionally current customers will keep their benefits for at least six months after the changes go live in May, 2026. 

Positive Changes

There is some good news though with a new subscription credit being added.

• Preferred Honors – $100k-$999.99k ($8 monthly credit)
• Premier – $1m+ ($15 monthly credit)

Charges must be made to debit card, list of eligible merchants isn’t available.

Our Verdict

Nice rebate on activities, tours, airport transfers and the like. As always, keep in mind that Capital One Shopping portal does not require having a Capital One card or bank account. Also remember that the rewards are not cash but rather they cash out as gift cards for various brands.

Our Verdict

For someone who cashes out at 1 cent-per-point, these might be a good way of sprucing that up a bit. Personally, I’ve been cashing out at the Grocery Store 1.25 redemption with PYB on Sapphire Reserve.

Our Verdict

Previous high on this card has been 70,000 points, standard offer is 40,000 points. Free nights start at 6,000 points per night and go up to 35,000 points per night (properties in Australasia go up to 75,000 points. Now cost more than 35,000 in USA as well). With Choice it’s always a good idea to have a redemption in mind before applying. Still worth it for some people as some good value can be had, will add this to our list of the best credit card bonuses.

They offered a $100 bonus in the past, this is basically the same requirements but a slightly bigger payout. Most people won’t be eligible due to the restricted membership unfortunately so we won’t be adding this to our best bank account bonus page.

Our Verdict

The offer link works for me only partially – it’s showing the $75 bonus, but not the $95 fee waiver. Personally, I’d go for an offer for $150 or $75 with a waived annual fee.
