They have lost everything!

Today we are visiting the Noto Peninsula where the January 1, 2024 earthquake took place.

We are 170 km south of the epicentre so we are only see a fraction of the damage.

We are working with Operation Blessing Japan. It's a Christian disaster relief organization providing the basic necessities to the displaced people from the earthquake.

The OBJ staff and volunteers are the first Christians many Japanese in the affected area have ever met. This is an unreached people group! They are encountering the love of Jesus through the relief efforts.

The needs are staggering!
The people have lost everything.

We met this new Christian (below) who lost everything when his home was destroyed but he and his family were rescued. He knows God protected them. But he still has to keep up the payments on a house that no longer exists and his business was forced to close!
