Procedure Text refers to a specific writing style aimed at instructing readers on how to carry out particular tasks or processes. This type of text is crucial across various domains such as education, cooking, technical writing, and everyday activities. In this article, we will delve into the format and importance of Procedure Text, along with tips for writing effective instructions.

Defining Procedure Text

Procedure Text is intended to lead readers through a series of actions to accomplish a specific goal. It can be found in recipes, assembly guides, or scientific experiment instructions, acting as a detailed guide to achieving success.

Components of Procedure Text

The typical format of Procedure Text includes several essential elements:

Title: Clearly identifies the task or activity.

Goal: Explains the expected outcome.

Materials/Ingredients: Lists the necessary items for the task.

Steps: Offers a clear sequence of instructions, often numbered or bulleted.

Conclusion: Wraps up the process or provides extra tips.

Advice for Crafting Procedure Text

To produce effective Procedure Text, keep these suggestions in mind:

Be Clear and Direct: Use straightforward language and concise sentences for better comprehension.

Utilize Active Voice: Write in an active voice to make the instructions more dynamic.

Structure Logically: Present the steps in a clear and logical order.

Test Your Instructions: Verify your own procedures to ensure their accuracy.

Include Visuals: Add diagrams or images when helpful to aid understanding.

Sample Procedure Text

Here are a couple of illustrative examples of Procedure Text:

Cooking Example

Title: How to Create Pancakes

Goal: To make tasty pancakes.

Ingredients: Flour, eggs, milk, sugar, baking powder.

Steps:

Combine flour, sugar, and baking powder in a bowl.

Add eggs and milk, mixing until smooth.

Heat a frying pan and pour in the batter to make pancakes.

Cook until bubbles form, then flip to brown the other side.

Assembly Example

Title: How to Construct a Bookshelf

Goal: To effectively build a bookshelf.

Materials: Bookshelf kit, screwdriver, hammer.

Steps:

Lay out all parts and check for any missing items.

Attach the side panels to the base using screws.

Connect the shelves with dowels.

Finish by securing the top panel with screws.

Final Thoughts

Procedure Text is a powerful way to communicate how to complete tasks effectively. By adhering to its structured approach and implementing these tips, you can create clear and actionable instructions that lead to successful results.

Yet, amid the hustle and bustle, Canada remains a haven of natural beauty, with expansive national parks and protected wilderness areas offering sanctuary to a diverse array of wildlife.

Canada's people reflect its vastness and diversity, with a tapestry of cultures and traditions woven together in harmony. From the indigenous peoples who have called this land home for millennia to newcomers from around the globe, Canada embraces a spirit of inclusivity and acceptance.

In every season, Canada reveals a different facet of its natural and cultural heritage. Whether blanketed in snow and ice during the serene winter months or bursting with vibrant foliage in the crisp autumn air, Canada captivates with its ever-changing beauty.

Above all, Canada is a country of warmth and resilience, where the spirit of adventure thrives and the call of the wild beckons. It is a land where nature and culture converge, offering endless opportunities for exploration, discovery, and connection with the land and its people.

Expressions About Asking Students to Wait

Badminton is one of the popular sports in Indonesia. Many people like playing it very much. It can be played indoors and outdoors. However, most players play it indoors. Nowadays there are many badminton: halls in our country.

Badminton is not a cheap sport. We need a net, rackets and shuttlecocks to play badminton. We can get them in a sport shop. We need to spend a lot of money in order to get good nets, rackets and shuttlecocks.

Susi Susanti is the best woman badminton player that we have. She is one of the best woman players in the world. She spent much money for badminton in the past. Example of Narrative Text

Discovering the Komodo Lizard

Two fishermen tied their boat up, hurried out of the boat and ran down the streets of their hometown. 'We saw a dragon on Komodo Island,' they shouted. 'We saw a dragon!'

A man heard their shouts. He was an American named Douglas Burden. Burden was a naturalist. A naturalist is a person who tries to learn, as much as he can about things that live. He believed what the two men said but there was only one way to find out; He had to go to Komodo Island himself and brought back one of the dragons for people to see.

So Douglas Burden and some friends sailed halfway around the world to the tiny island off the coast of Indonesia. When they reached the island they were afraid that the traps and cages they had with them would not be strong enough toehold the dragons. There were dragon son the island. They weren't the same dragon’s people see in picture books and in children's stories, but they looked more like dragons than any other animal Burden had ever seen. They were really large lizard - some of them three metres long and as heavy as two men. Their legs were short and thick and on their feet were sharp claws like knives. Although they did not breathe fire like the dragons in story books, the lizards had yellow forked tongues, that moved quickly in and out of their mouths.

It was difficult and dangerous to catch the lizards. Sometimes the lizards attacked the men. Sometimes the men had to kill the lizards to save themselves.

Finally, Burden and his friends caught two live Komodos and put them in cages on their ship. Then they sailed back to America.

When the two dragons were put into the Brooklyn Zoo in New York City, people came from all over America to see them. Burden, was pleased that so many people had a chance to see two live dragons.

That was more than 45 year ago. today there are no more live dragons anywhere in the world except on the tiny island of Komodo. They still live there.
Example of Descriptive Text - Our Parents

Example of Descriptive Text

Our Parents

What does the word "parents" mean? It means our father and our mother.

How long have our parents been taking care of us? This question is easy to answer. As we all know, our parents have been taking care of us for as long as we have lived.

We hardly, imagine just how good and kind our parents are. They also love us very much. No parent hates a son or daughter. When we are sick or ill, they look after us very carefully. They sometimes even lose sleep at night because of us. And they spend a lot of money on our education.

Do you love your parents? Of course you do.

What should we do to show our gratitude to our parents? To show our gratitude to them we should:

Always do what they tell, us to do.

Never disobey or annoy them.

Be a good student and always do our best.

Make ourselves useful, both to our parents and to our country.

Rafflesia Arnoldi

The vast archipelago and the great number of islands has made Indonesia the home of a large variety of plant life. The Indonesian flora ranges from the tiny orchid to the giant Rafflesia plant. No wonder many botanists are curious to study these plants.

The Rafflesia arnoldi is the biggest flower in the world. It is unusual because of its large size. It has a flower almost a metre in diameter and 1.40 metres in height.

"Raflesia" is derived from the name of the British Governor General, Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, who once governed and built the Botanical Gardens in Bogor. Though it is called Rafflesia after Raffles, the man who discovered the plant was Beccary, an Italian botanist who visited Sumatra in 1928.

Rafflesia consists of two parts: the stick4ifce part which grows in the middle and the petals around, and below it.

The Rafflesia plant begins to flower in Us tenth year, It blooms three or four times a year. Before it begins to flower, the leaves and the stem become dry and looks dead, but the main root in the ground is still alive.

While the flower is blossoming, it has a very unpleasant smell which attracts insects, especially green flies. They seem eager to explore the flower. But if the flies touch the bottom part of the stick, like centre, they die.

Example of Narrative Text - An Honest Boy

An Honest Boy

One day Tommy was walking home from school. He saw a man coming out of a shop. The man was carrying a lot of things. He was walking toward his car. Suddenly something fell from his pocket. Tommy saw it, but the man did not.

Tommy ran and picked up the thing. It was a wallet.

"Sir! You dropped your wallet". Tommy called. The man stopped and turned round.

"You dropped your wallet," Tommy repeated. "Here it is. It fell from your pocket when you were walking."

Tommy gave him the wallet.

"Oh, thank you very much," the man said.

"It's all right." Tommy answered.

The man opened the wallet and took out some money.

"Here, this is for you," he said.

Tommy refused saying "I don't want the money, I just wanted to help you."

The man smiled and said, "All right, I'm not going to five you any money, but please, let me take you home."

"All right," Tommy said, and got into the car.
We often read books to get knowledge. But books can give us pleasure, too. When we are tired we read books to help us relax.

Some books can also take us to other pans of the world. By reading a book about Irian Jaya we may feel we are sitting in the jungles, not at home in our rooms.

Books can be very expensive. Therefore a lot of people go to libraries to borrow the books they want. Many famous people have got their knowledge from books. A lot of them did not go to school, but read books instead.

Example of Narrative Text - A Man and a Parrot

A man had a parrot. The man came into the room and saw the parrot. "What are you doing?" he said.

"What are you doing?" the parrot said.

The man laughed. Then he went out to visit his friends.

That evening a thief came to the house. He walked round the house and looked into the windows. There was no one at home. The thief broke open the door and entered the house. First he went into the sitting room. In the sitting room he found some bowls and vases. He put them into a sack. Then he went into the bedroom. In the bedroom he found a gold watch and some money. He put these into the sack, too. He stole many things from the house and put them into his sack.

The sack was soon full. The thief put it over his shoulder and walked to the door. He opened the door and looked out. These was no one there.

"What are you doing?" a voice said.

The thief jumped high into the air and dropped his sack.
Last month we had a long holiday. My family went to Mount Bromo. It was so beautiful. We really had an unforgettable experience. We went there by car. We reached Cemoro Lawang in the evening. Then, we took a rest in an inn. We decided to see the sunrise in the next morning. Seeing the sunrise from the peak of the mountain is an unusual event. Example of Narrative Text

The Tiger and the Hare

A tiger named Blind Fury became the king of a forest. He made a law that every day an animal should appease his hunger by falling prey to him. At this rate, in the course of a few months, a great number of animals had been eaten up; the beast that remained held council.

A hare among them, named Tiny Trick, observed, "I have a stratagem whereby I can get rid of Blind Fury, if you would let me take my chance with him tomorrow."

They agreed. The usual breakfast hour for Blind Fury was nine; but Tiny Trick trudged on and came to him at twelve.

"Hullo! You impudent little wretch! What has kept you so long from presenting yourself?" said Blind Fury.

"May it please Your Majesty," said Tiny Trick, "in a well by the road I have travelled there is another king like you majesty. He said I should not go without appeasing his hunger. It was with difficulty I could obtain his permission to see your majesty for a moment and return."

"Lead the way to the well," said Blind Fury.
"Yes, Your Majesty," said Tiny Trick.

When Blind Fury came to the well, he found his own shadow reflected in it and thinking that it was a rival tiger, leapt into it and drowned. The beasts of the forest praised Tiny Trick as the savior of their state.
Robinson Diaz

Robinson Diaz lives in a small cottage high in the Andes Mountains of South America. He is a cable rider. Every morning he faces a difficult task. He has to transport a local teacher to her school, by cable. The cable stretches across the deep valley from one edge of the mountain to the other. Crossing the valley by wire takes 30 seconds.

Before crossing the valley, Diaz fixes a metal hook to the cable. Leather straps, hang from it. Diaz fastens the straps around his shoulders and waist. He does a quick safety check and then launches himself off the edge of the mountain.

Example of Descriptive Text - My Neighbor, Reno

Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo Dos Santos Aveiro, born on February 5th, 1985 and commonly known as Cristiano Ronaldo, is a Portuguese footballer who plays as a forward for Spanish club Real Madrid and serves as captain of the Portuguese national team. Ronaldo currently holds the distinction of being the most expensive player in football history after having transferred to Real Madrid from Manchester United in a deal worth £80 million (€94m, US$132m). His contract with Real Madrid is believed to have made him the highest-paid football player in the world.

Ronaldo began his career as a youth player for Andorinha, where he played for two years, then moved to Nacional. In 1997, he made a move to Portuguese giants Sporting CP. Ronaldo's precocious talent caught the attention of Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson and he signed the 18-year-old for £12.24 million in 2003. The following season, Ronaldo won his first club honour, the FA Cup, and reached the Euro 2004 final with Portugal, in which tournament he scored his first international goal.
