More Nail Polish Custom Holos

Today we finally see what I wore for myself on Christmas Day. I had most of these manis I've shown you done over Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year's break. I still have seven stored ready to go, I just need to type the posts that go along with them.

I'm sure most of you know of More Nail Polish either via her blog or Instagram. She has 110,000 or so followers on IG. It's amazing for sure. I'm quite jealous LOL. Cathy if you're reading this, how often do you do your nails? Is it every day, several times a day? Inquiring minds want to know.

Anywho, back when the make your own nail polish craze hit around 2013ish, Cathy asked me what color holos I would want should I be able to pick any colors I wanted. You know the first color I said was chocolate brown. If you didn't know that, you must be new here.

Hi my name is Fingers and brown is my favorite color.

The other colors were forest green, a burgundy and a couple of reds. She had named them after different things from my blog. For example the brown holo was named "Dust and Cat Hair." This because I had written about how I had vacuumed under my bed and it was tumbleweeds full of cat hair.

I was so thrilled she made these for me and still love these five polish made just for me. Sent all the way from Australia!

When you read this, I will have already been to the vet and back with Checkers. Hoping that everything goes ok that day. She once again got a roaring bladder infection. She gets them once or twice a year. It's a problem that can't be permanently fixed. I had given her a week of antibiotics, that by the seventh day, it makes her sick to her stomach and she throws up. She's already lost weight so I hate for her to throw up and not eat.

Four days later, the infection was back with such a vengeance that I called the vet in a panic. Oh and this was the same day that I had the flat tire I told you about. So it certainly wasn't helping my day get better.

She's back on her meds and has two days to go. So the vet check is to make sure that the infection is gone, however Checkers hates the car so much that she pees and poops and pukes the whole way there and so there is never any pee left to test. If I don't take her, they won't refill her medicines and knowing I'm going away for a week, I need to have her antibiotics for the sitter just in case.

I'll update you in a later post.

Chaos and Crocodiles Asset

I am working my way through a new meditation app. It's called the Waking Up app. It's done by Sam Harris. He has a dreamy voice that's for sure. Besides the daily meditations, he has what he calls lessons. The ones I've done so far are pretty damn thought provoking.

The lesson he calls Free Will is especially freaky. In it he says that the reality is, we have no free will even though we think we do.

Let's get deep people.

What he says is that we didn't pick our parents, we didn't pick the environment that we grew up in, that we didn't pick our genes or pick our soul. Are you with me so far? We can agree on these things right?

What did you think after reading those statements? What are you going to think next? You don't know. One can't possibly know what is going to be the next thought. As this would mean you would need to think before thinking. Thoughts just appear, you don't choose them.

So where is your freedom of will? If your thoughts come on their own, that you're not actually thinking them into existence, how can you have free will?

Here's his example if you want to play along. "He says to pick any movie you want, you're free to choose any movie you want. Just pay attention to the experience of choosing. He says that this is as free a decision you will ever make in your life. You are totally free to pick any movie you want.

Ok now choose...........

Now choose another film and do it one more time. Pick a third movie.

Did you see any evidence of free will here? Let's look for it. Set aside all the films you don't know so couldn't have picked. There's no freedom in that as you couldn't pick one of those movies if your life depended on it. But there are many other films that you are aware of that you didn't pick.

Now you absolutely know that Rocky 2 is a film but you didn't think of it.

Think about this. Were you free to choose that which didn't occur to you to choose? Your Rocky 2 circuits were not in play for reasons you could not possibly know and could not control. Based on the state of your brain a moment ago, Rocky 2 was not an option.

Where is the freedom in that?

Think of a new film and pay attention to the process. Why did you choose the movie you chose? As the conscious witness of your inner life, you are not making these decisions. All you can do is witness these decisions. You no more picked your movie in subjective terms than if I had picked it for you. You have no control over which movie finally appeared in your thoughts.

Pay attention to how thoughts arise and decisions get made moment to moment, you'll see there is no evidence of free will."

Now what I have just typed is verbatim from Sam Harris's lesson, I've put it in quotes. These are not my words, not my thoughts. However, it hit me so powerfully, that I wanted to share it with you guys. After really thinking things through, I feel he's got a point here.

It's kind of freaky when you think about it. He talks about how people sometimes wish they could go back in time. That if they could, they would have done things differently. But knowing what we just talked about before, would you really have done things differently if the reality is, you didn't choose what happened in the first place?

Think about it.

Chanel Cavaliere, Polish My Life Milk Chocolate Goodies

Today is one of those mani for me days. One where I choose colors just for me. Usually, I try to rotate shades and do holos if the sun is out. This day I wanted my favorite color brown.

Yes I know it's weird I love brown.

I've officially found and hired what I hope to be a good petsitter who will be around for awhile. She does this on the side, so not dependent on petsitting for income so hopefully won't stop doing it for a long time. So Myrtle Beach in February here I come!

Yeah I know, I took a week off. I started this post last weekend and just had nothing to talk about, nothing to say. Listening to the new part one EP from Julia Michaels. So love her music. Been waiting months for this album to come out and it's a part one? Dude WTF? Anyway, am on the second listen so can't say how I feel yet.

Her first EP had the song Pink, Make It Up To You and all the rest BUT the song Issues. I read yesterday that Issues was number eleven on the Top 100 BillBoard. Huh. It seems that every song I really like is never the one that the world likes. Oh well.

Driving home from work last week, I had the tire low light come on. It was like 20F at that time and I just figured I needed to add air as it didn't feel like I had a flat tire. I made it to the gas station near my house thirty miles away on the highway and saw that I was actually driving on a very soft almost flat tire.

My first thought, well my second thought after I thought sh*t, was damn I hope I didn't ruin my rims. I was adding air to the tire and it did come up, but it was so cold and the air thing was metal and my hands were numb that I just couldn't hold the thing long enough to try to get it up to the forty pounds it needed to be. All I wanted was to get home and warm my hands.

It held the air for me to get home and knew I would have to call the tow truck in the morning. Next day, it was back to flat. Called the tow guy and he was able to put enough air in so I could get to the garage near my house. Turns out I had run over a nail so it was a slow leak. It was also near the outer rim in a place where it just made it legal to patch it. Otherwise I would have had to buy a new tire.

Now I know I already need new tires this Spring as I'm hitting 50,000 miles on my car. I just wasn't ready to buy one then. You feel me?

So $100 later, I was finally on my way to work. It was one of those days.

This is Polish My Life Milk Chocolate Goodies and Chanel Cavaliere. Here is the base.

Notice I actually took the time to file my nails into a nice shape. They have since split and broken back down to nubs. The Milk Chocolate Goodies leans khaki to me. You can see in the second photo there is holo in the bottle. It's very subtle. Cavaliere is a gorgeous deep brown with shimmer. I love it.

Next I just added dots and my funky.

Liquid Sky Lacquer Pure Luxury

Did I tell you what I got myself for Christmas? I bought it during the Sephora Fall 20% off VIB sale. It's the Foreo (pronounced 4, 0h) UFO device. I also got all the masks that go with it. Let me just say that I love this thing and need to use it more often. It's like I'm saving it for some reason.

This device is touted as a sheet mask done in ninety seconds. It has red light, green light and blue light as well as heat, cooling and Tsonic pulsations. So depending on which mask you choose, the combo of heat/light etc is programmed.

For example, yesterday I did the night mask. This one used the red light, heat and Tsonic pulses. I usually repeat the mask twice as there is so much serum left in the package I hate to waste it. The one for oil control is called the Matte Maniac. This one does red light, blue light and cooling with the pulses. I have no idea if the different lights actually do anything, but in my mind it does!

I just love this thing! If you're looking into this, do not get the mini. Splurge for the full one as the mini does not have the blue light or the cooling feature. If you're acne prone, you want this feature.

My skin care routine has been quite simple as of late. I did try some different brands and different items, but my skin kept reacting and I was getting raised red bumps on my left cheek. It's not acne, it's just reaction. So right now, I am using Dr Sam's Flawless Cleanser and her Flawless Moisturizer with Differin Gel in between. It's calmed the bumps and my skin has remained clear.

Currently I am talking to Directv for the bazillionth time. I hate more than anything talking to f*cking computers. I get what they call loyalty discounts that are good usually for six months and then all of a sudden your bill is $63 more and you have to call back in and get passed around to different people until you get to someone who maybe can help and then they say sorry there are no discounts so I then have to threaten to switch to DISH and all of a sudden discounts are there. It's a pain in my butt and I hate having to go through this. Why can't my bill just stay the same? I haven't changed anything??????

So dude says there are no discounts available, but he can lower my bill by adding more channels to my listing. WTF? How are you going to lower my bill by adding more channels that I don't want or need when I just want my discounts back? I threaten to leave and demand to talk to a supervisor and he says I can transfer you to our Loyalty Department. Yes this is what I want, I shouldn't have to call and go through this crap multiple times since I've been using your service since 1998. Am now on hold for that department.

I talk to that loyalty department and they can't help me so I get transferred to another loyalty department and the fifth person I've talked to now in the past 23 minutes of being on this call as well as trying the online chat.

It's now been a 38 minute call and all I got was a $63 credit for this month's bill as apparently, there are no loyalty discounts right now. So I'm told to CALL BACK as they pop up all the time. I am so pissed off right now, you've no idea. This whole game is a load of crap and I hate it.

So while I calm down, let's take a look at today's polish.

This is a gorgeous super holo in gold. This was the original bottle from when LSL first started making polish. I've no idea if they are even still around or making polish. Does anyone know?

How do you keep your loyalty discounts with ATT/DirecTV? I'd love to know.

American Apparel Peacock, Girly Bits Cosmic Ocean and Bettina Clouds

It seems that the videos I added to my recent posts aren't working, so I've removed them for now. It worked in the past, but not now. I'll have to look into it as I like to show you guys the rainbows.

I'm seriously thinking of revamping my blog. I'm a bit tired of the green. Because of this, I've just spent the past hour researching other nail art blogs and websites that list the "best" nail art blogs. So so many of them are no longer posting. I'm talking the great ones (IMO) from the past when nail art blogging was huge. Like 2012-2016 or so.

I'm talking about All Lacquered Up, The PolishAholic, The Nailasaurus, Chalkboard Nails to name a few. Are they posting elsewhere or just gave it up all together?

What happened to the blogging? Has another platform replaced it? I know personally, I no longer read blogs and I guess that most people don't read blogs anymore either. What would be really cool is to do mini videos on Instagram like Yagala does. But I am no editing expert and don't feel like learning right now.

Maybe it's silly to spend money to revamp something that no one reads, but this blog means a lot to me and I've put countless hours into it since I started back in 2011. It's my way of journaling I guess.

Even in my heyday, when this blog was at its most popular, I only got like 200 hits a day. But those 200 people meant something and still do mean something to me. A reader on Facebook yesterday mentioned how my past staged silly bottle shots was like my thing, my signature. That started out as poking fun at blogs for showing the bottles as I thought, who cares? I'm here to see the nail art. But then it turned into something my readers liked.

I may need to revive that.

Maybe more people would stop by here if I didn't write as much and just focused on doing the nail art. What do you guys think? Do you think a new design and less writing would get more visitors to this space?

Back when I started this blog, I did a mani using American Apparel nail polish. Somehow it got featured on this website that I've forgotten, but have it printed out and have it somewhere in my house. Today when I see that mani, I just cringe. I'll dig it out and paste the link here so you can see for yourself.

That was back when I used to post so many pictures. Sunlight, regular light, close ups and macro. I've stopped using my camera to take my nail photos and have been using my iphone. I need to work on better photos.

All right, here is today's silly bottle shot.

It's a bit more teal IRL. Next I added a layer of Cosmic Ocean.

See the gorgeous green shimmer? I love this and have since the day I got it.

Next I tried making a zigzag design with the glitter, but was a huge fail, so I ended up just adding dots and my funky.

Kind of a fail, but I kind of like how it came out. Very wintery.

Don't say I didn't warn you! This was back before I changed to showing my left hand. Yes this is horrible, yes I am aware, but I'm still proud of being on that website.

A England Perceval

Back in November, I started looking for a new petsitter. I could not find anyone willing to come to where I live nor was there anyone local. I told you that was why I didn't get home for Christmas this year. I found someone who told me that of course she would do it if I couldn't find anyone for my February Myrtle Beach trip. She quoted me $17 per visit. I think I told you in a previous post about this that she was thirty minutes away.

Fast forward to now. I messaged her telling her that I hadn't been able to find anyone else and was she still able to sit for me in February. She didn't get back to me until hours later. Her reply was basically, 'if I have to, I will, but I will need to charge more for traveling the distance.'

WTF huh?!?

I replied (I had saved the texts), you already quoted me $17 per. Her reply was pretty sh*tty basically saying if she had to travel an hour roundtrip for a thirty minute visit twice a day, she would charge more. Oh and she said she would help me find someone else but in a way that made it sound like a chore. Now I get this people, but she already knew this math for the travel distance back in November when she told me $17. At this point in time and her attitude, I didn't want her services anyway. I texted back, no thank you, I will find someone else. She wrote back you don't want me to help you find someone else? I didn't reply back, just deleted her from my phone.

I went back on Rover (it's a petsitting app and awesome), not expecting to find anyone, but came back with four people in my area available and wanting to sit for me! They all have been sitting for a while, just weren't on this app until now. I am interviewing three of them this week, but will keep all of their contact information as you never know right?

Three of them are local, literally six miles away if that. I'm elated over this. As I was of course worried about February Myrtle Beach, but you all know my Canadian fishing trip in September is my yearly retreat. I told the three people that I am looking for someone long term, as I will always have pets and want to go on vacation. So yay that's a load off my back. You have no idea.

Let's see what else.

Oh yeah, I got my a** chewed out by a patient recently. This is something that happens and I try not to let it bother me, but this one went above and beyond. I've been dealing with this person since May and they have not done the right thing since day one. So I was being accused of keeping them from their treatment, from talking to the doctor and why was I even involved in their care? It was bad.

I have documented to the gills all the issues I've had with this person since May 2018 and it's a vast amount. They actually ended up hanging up on me after I after I asked them to stop yelling at me. I called and left a voicemail for my boss, just in case they call to complain about me. This person tried calling right back and I refused to answer and let it go right to my voicemail.

I got an email later that day from them asking if they could see the doctor as I had offered in my original email, although they had denied that I offered, it was right there in writing.

If they show for this appointment, I'll be shocked as every other one has been no showed. But if they do come, I will not go in the exam room and talk to them. I promise you that.

It got to me. It upset me. It's never fun to be yelled at and accused of things.

Enchanted Polish I'm Kind of a Big Deal and I'm Kind of a Bigger Deal

Today's topic shall be the ever frustrating online dating. Yes people, I'm still at it. Been since 2012ish? Nowadays, it's more for kicks and content than me actually believing I will find someone real.

I realized this morning that I have been alone for ten years now. Holy sh*t that depresses me. But only a little. I'm one of those people who actually enjoys being alone. Just once in a while, a girl needs a man if you get my drift.

Anywho, back to the story du jour.

I got a message the other day from a guy who I knew couldn't be real. Hot guys just don't go on POF you feel me? His profile said his second language was English. Keep this in mind.

I forget the message he sent, but after all this time, you get a feeling you know? We sent a few messages back and forth and he tells me that he works for the UN and is currently working in Australia. Now I'm no expert on the UN, but are there offices in Australia?

I then ask him where he's from right? His reply is Georgia.

Do you get where I'm going with this? So I say, what's your first language? Your profile says English is your second language. If you are from Georgia, one would think that English is the first. No reply came and his profile was deleted.

Score another scammer for me.

Next up is a really cute guy. He messages me Friday and I'm intrigued, but highly doubtful he's real. But I play along. He says he's looking for love. That should have been my clue to his fakery, but damn he was cute. I message along saying if those pictures of you are real, why are you on POF? I get a reply of a "new" photo of him holding a sheet of paper saying "Kyle is for real."

See now I'm thinking maybe, just maybe...........

I notice however, no today's date on it. BUT, I keep going. He says he wants to text but wants to use some app called Whatsapp. I've no idea what this is and wonder why not just regular text. BUT I play along, because just maybe.............

I download the app, create an account and he now has my number. He messages me on the app and I reply what's your number, you have mine. I'm thinking, here's where it ends right? Nope, a number replies right back. So of course, I immediately look it up on Mr Number app.

It comes back as a no named landline in NYC.

I've also reverse searched his imaging on Google and surprisingly no results. So I'm thinking just maybe..............

I reply on this app, NYC eh? He says, yup, I'm originally from NY, but now in Virginia Beach. I say cool, where in NY, as I grew up there as well. No reply. No reply for hours. Next morning, I check it and he had replied hours later, "lovely, how are you?"

What the hell kind of reply is that? At this point, I go back to POF and yes indeedy, his profile has been deleted. He never replies again. Should have known from the get. No man says I'm looking for love.

I knew he was fake, from the jump, but yeah, I guess I'm still hoping one day just maybe..........

So what do you think? Which one is not like the others? If you said the ring finger, you'd be correctamundo as the Fonz used to say. The ringer is the original I'm Kind of a Big Deal. The rest is a Bigger Deal and leans purple.

I next stamped with the red and green Konad using Cheeky jumbo plate 06 and Bundle Monster plate BM H03.

Not the greatest thing I've ever done. I know it. I'm still waiting for my new stamping polish so I can show you my new haul and try my new clear stamper. Although it scares me!

Chaos and Crocodiles Stakeout

Today I am telling you the story of how I fixed my own leaky faucet. Something my dad had showed me once how to do, but never got a chance to do it myself with his help.

So I turned to the ever faithful YouTube and looked for a how-to. I actually found several that had the same exact faucet that I had. For some reason, I was thinking that I wouldn't find the same set up.

Anywho, I watched the videos a couple of times, I went to Home Depot to get the supplies needed. Finally the time came for me to fix my own leaking faucet. Something I had literally lived with for years.

Yes years people.

I told myself as long as I remember to turn the water off, all will be well.

I started with the leaking side. I turned off the water and got to dismantling the faucet. It was surprisingly easy. I had the YouTube video going and it was spot on. I replaced the washers and the main part of the hot side faucet. After some fiddling, it was time to turn the water back on. I tested the hot water and it worked!

Bolstered by my success, I turned off the water again and started in on the cold water side. I replaced the washer and main part as I had on the hot side. For some reason, this side gave me some issues. I had to take it back apart.

This is where I forgot to turn off the water.

Imagine a super geyser of water shooting straight up out of the faucet to the ceiling and back down on your head. Yes I was soaked, my bathroom ceiling was soaked and my floors were soaked. I had forgotten the main rule.

Don't forget to turn off the water.

I was so mad at myself! I had to clean that all up and then finish what I started. After I was done, the leaking was gone, but the water coming out was wonky. Somewhere in the fixing, I must have loosened some grit or something. So I had to take off the end of the main faucet, bring it with me to make sure I bought the correct replacement. I had no idea there are tiny numbers on the faucet screening having to do with aeration numbers and other things I don't get.

I went ahead and replaced that and now my faucets work great! The only thing I haven't gotten used to is when I brush my teeth and stick my head under the faucet to rinse (yes I do that), there is so much air mixed in the water flow that just makes it more difficult to rinse my teeth.

First world problems right? I'll show you photos at the end of this post.

Now the polish for today is what's known as a super holo. These are my all time favorite types of polish. I rarely do art on top of polish like this.

This was an addition to the Secret Agent super holo set. I'm glad I got it. Can you see the rainbow goodness in this? I could stare for hours and usually do!

Elevation Polish Alphubel

My first post of the New Year has gone up. My designer has messaged me so will have commenting system back shortly. I have finished my house decluttering and cleaned the crap out of my fish tank yesterday. Now I need to work on the outside. Raking, cleaning etc.

How about another work story for you? I know some of you out there live for them. This is one that's months in the making and had just come to fruition.

Back in time, not even a year ago, us navigators were interviewing someone new. This person was from another state and was telling us how amazing the program was at her hospital. She would not shut up about it. On and on she went. My place does this, my place does that.

I had decided I had heard enough. I looked her dead in the eyes and said, do not come here, we don't have that and you will not be happy. I suggest you stay where you are.

Literally said that. This is not a joke.

A few weeks later, I heard she accepted the position and moved here. She was to be over two different cancers and tumor boards. She decided that she was going to become our boss, which makes me chuckle as she is a new nurse, fresh out of school and again, I've got the seniority. So we all knew that wasn't going to happen.

Then whispers started.

She refused to do one of the cancers she was hired to do. She refused to see people in clinic. She refused a lot of things she was hired to do. One of the doctors came to me asking if I was interested in picking up another cancer. (I do three categories now.) This doctor asked if I could send him examples of my tumor board presentations to see which one he liked and wanted new girl to do.

Next thing I know, someone else is telling me how she was talking smack behind my back. Now I don't give a sh*t what people say about me cause I know I'm damn good at what I do. I happened to have a meeting with my boss and mentioned it to her and it turns out that new chick thought that I decided what work she was to do when it was the doctor's idea and that she had refused to do it.

Next time I saw this chick, she tried to say something about it to me, trying to find out who had told me that she had been talking smack. I just blew her off and refused to tell her and this of course made her mad as well.

Right before Christmas, the rumor mill got all charged up and it's about her. Seems that she has turned in her notice and quit. Part of me feels bad because she moved here from afar, but part of me knows I told her to stay put and not move here. This is Bettina Heavenly, Elevation Polish Alphubel and Konad stamping polish in Silver and Dark Blue.

I started with Alphubel.

This polish is a gorgeous baby blue with blue shimmer running through it. I think it's awesome.

Next I ruined this gorgeous color but trying to double stamp and then schmeared it with top coat. I had forgotten the stamping rule. This rule states to not go over the design more than once with the top coat brush or else it schmears. I used a MoYou London Christmas plate.

Yes I did add my funky french with the Bettina trying to salvage this, but yeah. It's just a huge fail.

Oh well. Tomorrow is another day right? Also this can be fixed with acetone.

Enchanted Polish Winter and Cherries Jubilee

I mentioned that I wasn't able to go home for Christmas this year. I actually have been super busy decluttering and cleaning the crap out of my house. I've been living here since 2002 and don't think I've ever cleaned and organized the way I have recently.

What started it all, was a YouTuber named Matt D'Avella. Besides his being dreamy, he is a Minimalist. He got rid of most of his stuff and only keeps cherished items. I'm certainly not saying I'm converting, but, I am kind of trying to be better about stuff. This year I want to really save more money and not buy as much. I have gone through all my rooms and decluttered the crap out of them. You'd be impressed. I'll show a couple pics at the end of this post.

I started with my clothes closet. I had stuff in there like my favorite dress from 1993. However, I can no longer fit into said dress and it's just hanging there. Away it went. Actually, as I write this, I wish I had kept that one dress. It meant a lot to me. I should have taken a picture, which is what Matt says to do before getting rid of items. I have pics of me in that dress somewhere, but not just of the dress.

Damn. Now I'm depressed about it.

I took every single thing out of each closet. Every single thing from under each sink cabinet. I took out every single thing. Went through each item and decided harshly what to keep and what had to go. I took literally garbage bags full of clothes, shoes, etc to Goodwill and garbage bags full of trash to the dump. Christmas Eve, I finally finished the last room. The room that almost killed me.

It was that bad.

My Honda Civic was loaded to the gills with trash. Christmas Eve dump trip. The trunk, the back seats, the front seats full of stuff. Now all gone. It's actually quite nice. I have to go through three kitchen cabinets of food, and one or two shelves in my linen closet, but overall, it's decluttered to the max.

I have since bought a crap ton of new turtlenecks to replace the threadbare ones I threw out. At least now I have the room in my closet for them!

I've also bought a new journal, renewed my membership in 10% Happier app, bought books on saving money and meditation to make myself more calm and wiser. LOL.

I also have a haul from Mundo de Unas coming (stamping polish) and got new stamping plates and a clear jelly stamper to play with. Those will be for another post. The clear jelly stamper scares me though.

All right. Here we start today's mani with the silly bottle shot.

This is Enchanted Polish Winter, Cherries Jubilee and Polish My Life White Ice.

I started with a layer of PML White Ice to try and get Winter to not lean grey.

And yes, it still leaned grey. Oh but how gorgeous is this red holo??? Must do a full mani with it!

Next I did a simple jigsaw dotticure.

I did pictures in full sun and not so you can see how this red changes color. I just love it!!!

Now here are a few pics of my decluttering of the room that almost killed me.

Yes it is quite impressive if I do say so myself. This took me TWO days and I almost gave up, but I couldn't cause my room was a mess!!

Enchanted Polish Football Season

Ah yes. The time has come to finish the story of the nurse who could not convert centimeters to millimeters, nor could figure out how to Google such.

First, I shall start with the very good work news. She is gone.

Dammit, I gave away the ending too soon!

No really, the good news is, after YEARS of working in a tiny airless, windowless basement office with too many other people, I finally have an office with a window!

Let's all pause while we revel in my joy.............

Oh yes people. My boss came to me one day last August and led me to a vast room with only SIX large cubicles and two very large floor to ceiling windows and asked me which one I would like to have. You see, I have been there the longest of anyone and the boss was rewarding me with first choice of cubicle.

You best believe I picked the far back right corner next to the window. Can I just say, it is magical. To have that window and light and a quiet place to work is a dream. The work space is literally three times bigger than my basement desk. It won't last, but for now, I am loving it. It's in a restricted area that you have to have special badge swipe privilege so random people can't just come and visit. And it's locked with just the six of us having keys.

When this change took place, there were six other navigators besides the six in the new office. Can I just say the b*tching that went on and why don't I get the magic office? Sh*t man, when you've been there longer than a week, maybe you can earn that privilege. Until then, nope. I told my boss how much I appreciated that I got to choose first. Seniority doesn't always pay off, but it did here.

When the new building is done in 2020 or so, I shall lose this place. But for now, I am living for it.

So back to the topic. This new navigator was so awful, she wouldn't see patients in clinics, wouldn't do anything other than surf the web. However, she was making these horrible claims against her coworker doing the same cancer, who was training her. She would go to the boss saying how she was being bullied and stuff. It was insane.

I started listening while she worked making detailed notes about what she did and said to staff and patients. Believe me, I had damning sh*t. When it got so bad, HR got involved and there were meetings and mediation. I can't get into particulars here. It boiled down to the new chick saying she was being bullied when quite frankly, the new chick was the bully.

Finally, enough dirt was documented so the boss could remove the new chick from her position. However, she could not be fired as of that moment. She had to be offered a job elsewhere in the department. She was sent to a satellite office and there she did ONE set of vital signs on a patient and then complained that she hurt her back. I kid you not.

So for weeks, she was milking the disability ilk and getting paid to sit at home. This is a person who sucks the life out of everyone around her. I think she is now gone for good and no longer can work for my hospital. Although I need to confirm that!

All right. Today we have a gorgeous color that is not for everyone.

It's not a very strong linear holo, but to me, this is my kind of color! Kind of baby poop brown yellow. Like I said, it's not for everyone.

I think these two colors go great together! Yes I still need to work on my posing. I just can't make it look good and can't figure out why!!!

Enchanted Polish Mountain Lodge

I've got the tunes going, Avril Lavigne's new album, looks like it's just called Avril Lavigne. So wish she would lose the raccoon eyeliner crap. She's too old for that now. If you haven't dabbled yet, listen to "Bitchin' Summer." It's an ear hook for sure.

As I write this, need to give you guys a heads up that there are a couple of glitches with my blog at the moment. My Intense Debate commenting system is down as is the embedded Related Posts that you see on older posts. I've messaged my designer to get it fixed. If you want to comment and it's still not working, use my Message Me widget for the time being. It's weird though that these widgets sometimes work in preview mode just not in published mode. I don't get it.

The reason is, all blogs had to change to an https from the old http. I spent hours yesterday trying to fix the Intense Debate. I just could not figure that sh*t out. Just know I'm working on it! Let me know if you find any other issues. I've fixed the links under my picture, but for Feedly. Does anyone even use Feedly?

There is so much to catch you up on. Have to finish the story from my last post from April. Wow what a mess that turned out to be. That deserves its own post. So watch for that.

Did you all have a good holiday? Happy New Year by the way. This year I was not able to go home for Christmas. My two babies are having major health issues and I haven't been able to find a petsitter. Checkers has neuropathy and needs gabapentin while Sam has insulinoma and if he doesn't get prednisone twice a day, his back legs stop working and poor thing can't walk. It's the scariest thing to see ever.

I had a great sitter for my annual Canada fishing trip, but she went back to her regular job. Since I live in the woods, I can't find anyone close enough willing to come twice a day. I am going to Myrtle Beach in February as usual. I did find someone willing to come for that week, but she's coming thirty minutes both ways and is basically just helping me out.

Both cats are old. Checkers is 16 and Sam will be 16 in February. So it comes with age.

My job still has the nail polish ban. So I've pierced my ears and changed my hair dye to have deep purple roots.

What?? You didn't know about my ear piercings?

My last post, I mentioned I was turning 50 and didn't know what I was going to do to mark the occasion. Well, here's what I did.

Mom was here for that week. I drove her to a TATTOO parlor downtown and I got my ear cartilage area called Flat pierced. My mom refused to hold my hand and even waited in the other room! She is sort of against this. It was so funny. I said to the piercer, "I brought my mommy if you need her permission." Even though it was my 50th birthday. They all laughed.

A couple months later, I went back and got my Tragus pierced. These are both on my right ear. I already have triple piercings on both lobes. I sleep on my left side, so yeah, trying not to pierce that side, although I want to do an Industrial on the left. I need to get to the store and pick out earrings as I'm still wearing the piercing studs. I want to add a Conch and either a Helix or Rook to the right.

Even though polish is banned, it does not mean I have stopped buying it. Here is the new Enchanted Polish Mountain Lodge. It's a gorgeous forest green holo. Sadly, the sun was not cooperating this day.

Damn this new MAC is killing me. When I formatted and watermarked my photos for TWELVE sets of manis, I saved as PSD files. Apparently, Blogger doesn't like PSD files so I've had to go back and resave as JPG files. UGH!

Anywho, this is much more gorgeous IRL I promise you.

Next I stamped using MoYou plate Christmas Collection 01 and Mundo de Unas White.

Looks cool eh? I haven't lost my stamping edge! Of course, I had to top this off with my funky french using OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.

I happen to love this big time. It screams Christmas.

Let's talk life. I got my AARP application in the mail the other day. Just another reminder that I will be hitting the half century mark in four days. Sh*t. Mom says it's not really worth signing up for. I actually paid the $16 to get the free sporty tote and then will decide whether to cancel or not.

Work has decided that they are going to expand the nurse navigator role to include all cancers. Which is kind of funny, because just a few short years ago, they had decided that navigators were not necessary and was about to dismantle the whole program.

What's also funny, is I'm the only one left that has been there through all this. I'm about to take bets at work for how long the new one will last. She and the other breast navigator got into it on Friday. Something about how she can only learn through structure etc, but our job is learn on the fly and figure it out sort of thing.

When I started there in 2009, I had no oncology experience at all. None. I figured it out. I read a lot, I asked a lot of questions. This chick is acting like she can't even do that, but apparently sold herself as self motivated and a quick learner in her interview. She also spends her day surfing the net when she could be trying to learn something.

You're going to love this.......

The new chick can't convert millimeters to centimeters. And she's a nurse???? I've told you before that my only bias is stupid. If you can't figure out how to convert a 10 to 1 ratio, or even have the wherewithal to Google it? And you're a nurse???? Yes I repeat myself as I just can't fathom how stupid this one is.

She also does not dress professionally, wears these awful worn out sneakers every day that just makes me cringe. She also cannot figure out how to read a pathology report to find the tumor size when there's an ENTIRE SECTION on the report dedicated to tumor size! I just shook my head and had thoughts of why oh why are you here?

They've also hired people that I totally disagree with. People who have been in my department doing different jobs and a sh*tty job at that. Not doing what they're supposed to be doing, instead, spending their time gossiping and doing nothing. This is what I told my boss. Don't hire her as she doesn't even do the job she's in now.

But, who am I right?

Then there's the person whom no one likes that has been passed to no less than five different cancer clinics. The doctors can't stand her, so she gets passed to another clinic. She is now interviewing for the third time for yet another navigator position and they asked if I wanted to be in on the interview.

Why???? Been there, done that. Why torture myself again?

Why do I need to reinterview someone who I know damn well is a pain in the a** and does the wrong thing over and over. This is cancer. This is not something to fake you know. It's life or death. She still doesn't know the difference between two very basic chemos.

And yet, she's allowed to continue.

Also, there is no place to put all these people being hired. None. My office is packed full of eleven cubicles all full in a tiny airless, windowless basement room. No joke. The boss keeps saying she doesn't know where they will all go, but it will be all fixed once the new building is built in 2020.

Ummmmmmm ok.

It's 2018 and the ground hasn't even been broken yet. And yet, all these hires have no place to go. The assistant to the boss sits next to the file room people as there is no office for them. Are you getting what I'm saying?????

Today we have an elusive so called white holo. You put a layer of the base on first, topped off with Chasing a Unicorn white holo. Shall we see if it is truly white? As all other white holos come out grey.

You start by doing a layer of white as a base. Then topping with the holo. To me, it still leans grey. Here is the bottle shot first.

I was going to show you before and afters, but I just realized that I screwed up and deleted the befores! It's been a bad week people. You've no idea.

A quick synopsis: my iphoneX no longer syncs photos with my laptop. I was on the phone last Monday for FOUR HOURS with Apple trying to fix it. The dude literally killed my laptop and it already had bad issues from when I had tried Windows 10 then went back to 7. It was so dead, it wouldn't start, restart, nothing. We had to go into safe mode and go from there. He claims he used to work for Windows and knew what he was doing, but my laptop is f*cked.

The touchpad wouldn't work all sorts of things are now royally screwed. So in the end, I had to upload to the Cloud, which I don't trust, over 2100 photos and since I don't have WiFi at my house, I had to leave my ipad as my internet, hooked to my laptop, locked in my desk uploading all thru the night. When I got to work the next morning, luckily my sh*t didn't get stolen and it had only 130 photos left to upload.

I still don't get the whole upload, download Cloud thing. Can anyone out there help me with that?

Anywho, since I had repaired my porch (see last post), I was going to wait and buy a new laptop next year. Well because of this, I ordered a refurbished MACBOOK PRO. It comes tomorrow. Yes people, I have solely become an Apple geek. Now I am quite a wiz with Windows, but know nothing about the MAC OS. So I sure hope there won't be too huge a learning curve for me.

What I also hope, is that it fixes the photo syncing issue and I can go back to that and not use the Cloud anymore.

Now this red is stunning. Big time. But the white holo is still not the white holo I was hoping for. Maybe next time, I will do two coats of the white base first.

Enchanted Polish Rainbow Relish

Holy sh*t people. It's been close to a year since I wrote on my beloved blog. I attempted to start a new blog, but it just wasn't the same. I also saw that for some reason I got 3200 hits on Friday the 13th. No idea why. But hey-have at it.

So I got an email from a porn site wanting to advertise or some crap on here all based on my post entitled "Feelin Phallic." Obviously, they didn't read the post as they claim they did. Otherwise, they would not be asking to advertise on a blog about nail polish! I'll link that post for you as it was a good one from the first year I started this in 2011.

Also, I just found out that I can now run my blog over an https so I've turned that on hopefully to keep malicious crap from corrupting things here. Let me know if anything funny pops up for you guys.

In 11 days I will officially turn 50 years old. I didn't think it was going to bother me, but the closer it gets, the more I'm like f*ck dude I'm going to be 50! When I turned 40, I flew back to St Louis and was sitting under the Arch for that day. This year, I've got nothing. I bought myself some expensive skin care, which if you guys want, I can review for you here. My mom will be here for the week and of course, I've taken the day off as I NEVER work my birthday. It's my own personal holiday.

I've done some home repairs the past week. Well not me, I paid someone to do it. My front porch ceiling since I bought my house in 2002 was a paint peeling mess. Every single day I would look at it and just think how awful it looked. Well this year, I did something about it.

And lastly, I had a back deck board replaced as it was messed up.

And now for the in between. Dude took down all the old drywall stuff. Here are my pretty rafters.

He then replaced the drywall with stuff called soffitt. This stuff is maintenance free, you just wipe it off if it gets dirty, which in the woods with spiders? Of course it will get dirty. It also is a floating mechanism so it will give and take with the heat and cold. I like it. It looks amazing.

How awesome is this?? I am beyond happy with how good it looks! I've been staring at it for days now just smiling! I've also ordered six new wind chimes to hang around the porch as mine were beyond bad and missing parts.

All right. Now let's get to the reason why you're here. I finally felt like wearing polish. It's been one full year since I last wore any polish. Can you believe that??? Am I still buying polish? You bet! I haven't lost the love for Enchanted Polish holos. I just have yet to wear them! Now that it's finally warming up and the sky is blue, the holos truly pop.

Now I know this color is not for everyone, but those who have been with me know that I love the puke colors! Also, this was taken with my iphone X and it's been so long, I had to relearn how to crop and watermark! You know I love me a good linear holo. Sadly, I have to take this right off, as the ban is still on at work.

And yes, I'm still the worst as posing pretty with my nails. These however, are MY nails. They've gotten quite healthy and long since I stopped using acetone all the time!

I'm not making any promises, but I'm going to at least try to post twice a week if I can.

Enchanted Polish Somewhere Under The Rainbow

Yes people, I have actually polished my nails. The issue is, either I've forgotten how to take a damn picture with my camera or my camera is being a b*tch. I could not get a good picture if my life depended on it. I did get a halfway decent one using my iphone, so that's what I will use for today's post.

It seems I am flip flopping on whether to keep going with this blog or not. Who the f*ck knows. If there's a post, rejoice, if not, maybe one is coming!

I did mention I have several EPs I haven't even worn yet so since the sun was out, I polished for the first time since May 1st. My nails have been growing out the gel dip damage and I've finally stopped chewing the skin around my nails for the moment that I can actually show off my hands.

Issue is, my nails are all different lengths and shapes. For now, I'm just letting them be. So no negative comments about the sh*t storm that are my nails at the moment.

Since I wanted to show you something else in this post, let's look at this new EP now.

Indoor Sun

I'm going to see if I can add the quick vid I took showing off the holo happiness of this polish. Not the strongest in the polish world, but it shows you just why I love holos so much. Now IRL, this polish is more purple than shown here. I'm just happy I even polished! Sad that I have to take it right off though.........................let me know if you can see the vid or not. It's my first time adding one.

Now, I've told you that I'm still a makeup junkie right? I actually found a rainbow highlight. No it's not holo, but it's a rainbow on my face. Yes you have to work really hard to get it to show just right. This is the only picture I have that shows it off very well.

Oh and warning, it's my face!

See the rainbow on the top of my cheekbone? There's also a bit in my inner eye as well. It made my day when I caught this picture!

Enchanted Polish June 2014

This is the last of the polish pics I had saved from before the ban. I'm not sure how many posts I'm going to continue with. Is anyone out there still reading these? I did get a couple of comments so thank you to those who did! My NexGen gel dip review is still my most popular post. I still get at least 500 hits a day just to that post. If you google NexGen, my blog pops up.

Which I guess is a cool thing, but people aren't staying to read other stuff, just that one post. I also think I may be getting too lazy to keep up with this blog. As much as I love it, it's s sh*t ton of work. People who don't blog have no idea just how much work it takes.

Have you heard that Kesha is coming out with a new album in August? Yes I have already preordered. I have listened to her single Praying that has been released. I have only heard it once and my first impression is meh. I love the TikTok Ke$ha, not this cleaned up, totally obvious what the lyrics are about Kesha. I so hope the rest of the CD is like the music we've known and loved.

I get she's been through a lot, but dayum people stop changing your sound.

It's like Lady Gaga. Her first album is so different than her most recent one. It's like she's gone from backdoor European club sounds to Country and I'm not about that. I want Gaga to go back to her Bad Romance sound. That's my favorite from her so far.

I started reading the book, Thirteen Reasons Why. I didn't realize it's a 'young adult' book. I figure it's going to wrap up with a nice cliche ending for all the tweens and teens that are reading it. So far, it's not bad. I don't always read popular books as I have specific taste in what I read.

If someone ain't murdered by page ten, I'm not interested! LOL.

I also had to change my ringtone back to Monty Python. Every time my mom would call me, the damn Eminem ringtone would literally make me jump out of my skin. It's just a jarring ringtone. But yes I'm still listening to it on repeat.

It's been hot as hell here. They're calling for 99F by Wednesday. Too bad I have to be out in it. My car inspection is overdue. Those who pay attention know that I do this every single year. I just can't get it done on time. I just can't.

So much to update you on, I don't know where to start.

I've decided to share my Crohn's disease story and struggles on my Instagram account. Since I've scared off all the nail polish people, I'm looking to help others and maybe find some who are like me, so I can talk to them.

Back when I was diagnosed, I told myself I would take care of others with this disease but I really haven't. Instead, I've mostly hidden it from the world, pretending all is well. Reality is, it's not. I've been through a lot so far in my life-I've talked about it here.

I became a nurse because I had had so much practice as a patient. I thought I would work on a floor that catered to people with Crohn's disease. But there really isn't such a thing. So instead, I take care of others, and haven't really talked about what is going on with my illness.

I plan on doing some of that here. I understand if that's something you don't want to see, but with the nail polish ban, I still want this blog to be active. I am a work in progress. My Instagram account has makeup looks, cat pics and Crohn's stuff. So it's a mish mash.

I'm ok with that.

Now as far as work is concerned, there really hasn't been any huge stories. They are still interviewing for another navigator. They finally realized that we should actually interview the candidates since we have to work with them.

Duh right?

One of the ones I was a part of, I was like hell yeah, hire this chick. And they did.

Then I actually had to listen to her talking to patients on the phone and I was thinking to myself, damn, that was the wrong thing to be gung ho about!

Her voice is so nails on a chalkboard and she is too into the patient's life as in why are you taking that medicine and other minutiae which has nothing to do with cancer. She spent so long on the phone the other day that I was wanting ear plugs! It was just awful and since I said to hire her, I have to live with that decision!

Oh and Ms Princess is at it again! Remember she's the one who will look you in the eye, lie to your face and then stab you in the back.

She apparently thought that one of the coworkers hated her. In reality she does. HEHEHE. Anywho, Ms Princess did her manipulative crying as she does boohooing asking why she is hated. It is so her MO that I was dying laughing. That's what she does. She cries at the drop of a hat. It's hilarious. And she's in her low 60s! I mean when does one become a grown up??????

Enchanted Polish Penny Lane

I have realized I have about four Enchanted Polish that I haven't even worn yet! This ban is killing me big time. I have a HUGE secret that I will divulge to you when I can. You're gonna freak out big time!

Since I have not had my gel nails on or polish on, I have gone back to my horrible habit of chewing the skin around my nails making them bleed and sh*t. My nails were crap from having the gel dip on for years, but they are finally looking not too bad. I actually thought about putting on some polish today but the sun isn't coming out and I don't want to wear a holo without sun!

I just backed up my iphone and I have 122 apps! That's a lot and no I'm not actively using them all. I figure I have 128 Gb so I can have a lot of stuff on there. So far I have 13Gb of music on there.

I recently bit the bullet and combined my ATT and DirecTV accounts like you see on the commercials. They're all like come do this, it's great and it's so easy.

Uh huh.

I called and the first person I talked to wasn't stupid. She did her part and said she was going to put me on hold while she completed the fusion. Next thing I know, some dude comes on asking how he can help me.

It was downhill from there.

For the next 2.5 HOURS, I was shuffled back and forth between stupid people. One after the other. Transferred from here to there, no one able to help me. I kept getting oh that's not this department you need this other department. I finally was SO pissed off my coworkers were thinking I was going to get myself into a car accident on the way home.

I would call in and demand a supervisor. Each person would ask now what's the best number for us to reach you should we get disconnected? I was so mad that I just kept repeating get me a supervisor. I was put on hold and forgotten, or disconnected and I would call right back demanding a supervisor.

The last guy was very calm and took my tirade and kept saying that I had to give him a chance to help me etc, and would ask me questions, to which I would answer get me a supervisor. Finally I got one and I went off and said it should not take me 2.5 hours to combine accounts like this.

So yeah that day was bad.

Then I got my first bill..............

Twice what I normally pay. I called in and was like WTF people? I was told oh didn't anyone tell you? You had been paying as you used the minutes, with this new plan of unlimited everything, you pay a month in advance. Therefore, I had to pay two months at one time. Oh and they still haven't added the TV portion of the bill yet.

That joy comes next week.

I saved an online chat about that and how much that better be or I'd going to go off big time!!

I will say that the change is nice. Unlimited internet lets me watch all the YouTube makeup videos I want to and when mom is in Canada we can now talk and text for free, which before it was $1 a minute!

Woke up this morning feeling like writing a post or two. I had nail polish pictures saved from April before the nail polish ban at work. I have not worn any polish since May 1st when the ban went into effect. Yes I am still trying to fight that at work. I'm told that the OR nurses have nail polish on. That's like the one place that you really shouldn't be wearing polish!

I'm obsessed with the Eminem song Love Game. I printed out the lyrics and am trying so hard to rap the words but dayum I can't talk that fast! I actually made this song my new ringtone. Now that's a first as my ringtone has always been the second verse of the Monty Python song Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.

I have been active on Instagram if you guys are interested. My account is JenHop13. I just figured out that people can direct message you. This brings me to why I decided to post today. I got a message from a guy and it's the weirdest thing and I need you guys to tell me if I'm being paranoid or if this guy is a lying creep.

First I won't use the real name on Instagram so don't ask.

He writes something like hi how are you can we be friends sort of thing. Let's just say his account name is John D Smith. He says on the account he is proud to be Navy. So I google John D Smith and I find that the real name is John D Smythe and is in the Marines. So I call him on it and say why the different name and different branch of the military?

Now granted, I don't use my real name either and I have used the handle here Fingers since 2011. So I get that sh*t.

He replies just believe me OK sort of thing, but has changed his account name now to John D Smythe. Curious. People don't misspell their names, unless they are trying to be incognito like I am. Oh and the photos on the account are easily googled. He says he's in Afghanistan on a peace mission.

Hmmmmmmm.

I google again and find that John D Smythe of the Marines, not the Navy as he said, is to be shipped to Japan WITH HIS FAMILY to be commander of something there. So yeah I call him out on that too. He again says, just believe me ok. I'm like why, why does it even matter if I believe you as either way I don't want to converse with a married man.

He then sends me a couple of photos, again in uniform, easily googled, asking me what he needs to do for me to believe he is who he says. I don't think there is anything except maybe facetime or something like that, but I'm over it. He says again, just believe me ok?

At this point, I'm thinking this is so fake that I deleted the message.

So it's at this time that I ask you younger hipper peeps out there, am I being too paranoid or is this just normalcy on Instagram? I mean I get the going incognito thing as I do it but I wouldn't in a private message you know??? Need some advice my people!!!!

Now here is the very freakin gorgeous CbL Chillin in Paradise. And this is when I was doing my own gel dip nails and I am VERY AWARE they look lumpy and thick. I don't need the f*cking negative comments ok??

Hey guys. Just an update for you. My job has banned all nail polish. I have removed my gel nails and am back to my sad nubs and chewed cuticles. I don't know what I will do with this blog. While I love it, I don't know what to do without the main focus being nail polish. I'm not one to put polish on long enough to take a photo to them just remove it.

I have been doing different things on Instagram. I've changed the name to jenhop13 if you want to find me there.

Let me know your thoughts on what I should do here.

Enchanted Polish Vampires Suck

So I told you last post I would tell you about the weird dream I had last night. Now normally I don't remember my dreams, at least not with this much clarity. And it's just a freakin weird one. The dreams I do remember always have to do with me peeing in my dream in a weird place or the other night's it was the tiniest bathroom ever and always in these dreams, I make a mess of me and my clothes.

Gross yes, but I realize now that it's my subconscious telling me to wake up to pee. Remember I told you I am on two liters of IV food every night? Well that makes a lot of waking up to pee and if I don't wake up, the mess in my dream will be reality! So I always listen when my dreams turn to that.

Now on to the weird dream I had.

I don't know how it started, I just know that my mom had no arms or legs and for some reason she had something wrong with her breathing and needed to have the fluid drained from her lungs to breathe.

Since she had no arms or legs, I was carrying her on my back in a backpack I think. I was running all over the hospital screaming "where's the colposcopy unit?" Over and over I was screaming this. Finally someone pointed me in the right direction and I ran into the department, throwing my mom down on the table telling them to hurry up and drain the fluid as she's dying not being able to breathe.

The people there just stood around staring at me, drinking their coffee having their lunch not helping me at all. I then swiped everything off that table, got in the doctor's face and demanded he take care of my mom.

I got down to my mom's face and told her not to leave me, that I needed her, but if she was tired and wanted to go, that I would be OK.

Finally, he realized I knew what I was talking about and stuck this huge needle into her lung. There was this loud pop. And relief on mom's face as she was able to breathe again.

Then I woke up.

How f*cked up is that?????

First off, why did my mom not have arms or legs? Second, the procedure she needed is called a thoracentesis. A colposcopy is what you get when you go to the Gynecologist for a cootie checkup. So why I was screaming for that department I've no idea. But while I was dreaming it, it seemed so damn real, it was spooky.

I haven't stopped thinking about it all morning. What do you think? Do you think dreams mean something? I know there are people who believe that dreams are your brain working out issues in your awake life. Not sure how this relates whatsoever. Maybe mom will have an idea once I tell her about this!

Now for today, I chose another color just for me. Don't worry, a happy pink is in the works for you out there! This is Vampires Suck and it's a blackened brown with holoness.

Enchanted Polish May 2014

Just used my brand new electric toothbrush. You see, I have a serious fear of the dentist and for many years, I have used a regular toothbrush and brushed the hell out of my gums. My current dentist told me that if I didn't stop that and start using an electric toothbrush that I would eventually need a gum transplant.

Now that sounds like a party right?

Nope.

I had a coworker who had to have that done and she said it sucked big time. For many years now I have been using the same electric toothbrush and yes, it's working. Now gums don't grow back once they're gone, they're gone. But they have not receded any more. And they are healthier than they were before the electric one.

I still brush the hell out of my teeth. At least five minutes at a time. The other day, my old electric toothbrush didn't last long enough for me. It was time for a new one. I only get the base model. I don't need bluetooth and the like for my teeth. I just need something that lasts five minutes!

That's what he said..................................

The base model was $60 and for four replacement heads, $30. $10 for toothpaste and I have just spent $100 on my teeth. I'm just happy I get good dental checkups and minimal scraping when I'm there.

So yeah, I couldn't use the toothbrush yesterday as it hadn't finished charging. So it was the inaugural brushing this morning. Can I just say DAMN that sucker has a seriously awesome motor to it and my teeth feel cleaner than they have in past days. Makes me wonder if my old brush has been in need of replacing much longer than I thought or they decided teeth can take a stronger motor.

Something to ponder........................

Had my neighbor's dad over yesterday to fix my kitchen lights. Apparently the way I've been replacing blown out light bulbs have been loosening up the nut that holds it together. Totally something I would have had my dad fix for me the next time he visited.

Made me really sad and missing my dad all over again.

I don't really have any good work stories right now. Only that the nail polish ban is stuck in HR still. And because of that, I have let my nails get super long. Long for me at least. So I've been doing three dips when I do the gel nails as I need the extra strength.

Enchanted Polish Britney Spearmint

Pulled out yet another oldie today. It's been fun wearing polish that I haven't worn in forever. Plus I'm not freakin out about the polish ban, so it's been a joy again.

I told you how I decided to cover all those doctors while the nurse is out on FMLA sick time? Well my boss had emailed out Friday who was covering the actual clinics and I wrote back telling her how I had been doing all the triage phone calls. She wrote back, "you're awesome."

Natch......................

I wrote back to her jokingly how nurse's week is coming up. Earlier that day she had sent out an email for people to nominate the nurse of the year sort of thing. So I was alluding to this when I replied to her about nurse's week.

She sent me back a picture of three tomatoes. Not rotten ones, just three tomatoes. Now I don't get that at all. So I wrote back telling her that I didn't get it, but am sure it's funny. I haven't gotten a reply yet so I can't tell you what she meant. Anyone out there know what the tomatoes mean?

Totally forgot I was going to show you my new shoes. I got the chocolate brown ones the other day and it's glorious. Now I have grey, beige, navy, burgundy and chocolate. I have my old black ones too until I can replace those. I think I'm set for years!

It's a 3.5 inch heel and they are comfortable big time. Now you know why I love them so that I bought all the colors I could! The funny thing is, I am a heavy heel walker. With my old shoes you could totally hear me coming and people would make fun. These new shoes have all the soles to them and it muffles my footsteps. Now I can sneak up on people. HEHEHE.

Sadly, this is NOT color accurate whatsoever. It is a pale mint green holo IRL. Stupid sun went away and my flash just washed out the color. It is a frosty polish as well.

Will have to revisit when I can get color accurate shots.

Those of you that look at my blog on different search engines will see that there are changes to my font depending on what you are using at that time. For Safari users, you still get to see my beloved Parisian font that I bought and paid for and now cannot use. For those on Chrome and Internet Explorer, you will now see the Poiret One font. I like the Poiret One all right, but it's just not the one I want you know?

Stupid Blogger and Chrome.

It's at least not the plain block font that has been there that was driving me crazy. For now, I will leave the concept of moving to Wordpress alone, but in the back of my mind, one day I will play with a fake blog on there and see just how hard it is to use.

I cannot believe it's April already. My birthday month! I love this month just for that reason. My yard is a hot mess. There are weeds everywhere, and they are at least halfway up my calf in height. My neighbors' yards are the same way so I don't feel too bad, but it's awful to look at. I have no idea when you are supposed to start mowing the yard. I'm waiting for someone to do theirs so I'll know to do mine.

Yesterday I washed my floors twice then spent two hours outside on my knees weeding my very long stone driveway. It's an awful chore but I don't want my driveway to turn into green you know? My neighbor has let hers go and I just don't want that to happen to mine.

Oh here's something to think about........

I was reading the newspaper the other day-yes I'm one of those, and there was this article about this couple who had a one year old baby and they sold all their belongings, car etc and are going to hike the entire Appalachian Trail. It's like 2200 miles. Their thought process is this. Better to do it now while the baby is young and to let the baby have this experience.

Seriously??? I don't know about you, but I don't remember being one. Do you? How is that baby going to remember being out in the elements for 2200 miles? The baby ain't gonna remember. So why? Just why? I can see the couple going at it, but bringing the baby along? Nope.

The article clearly stated how they have degrees in outdoor sh*t and will have 5000 calories mailed to each stop along the way so they have food and will mail the dirty diapers back home for disposal. Can you imagine opening up that package?

Thoughts on this people????

I don't have kids so I can't really speak on this, but I can only imagine how awful it would be to hike that many miles with a screaming baby along. But that's just me.

Enchanted Polish Disco H2O, A Little Fishy Told Me

I pulled out an oldie EP for today's post. Remember how I told you they had stopped the nail polish ban for now? This is the mani I did the next day after hearing the awesome news. There's even a bit of art included!

I am truly contemplating moving my blog over to Wordpress. However, I just Googled it and it would be a whole new way of blogging and I'd be like a beginner all over again. I hate that I can't do some things I want because Chrome and Blogger are being jerks. Anyone out there using Wordpress? Can you let me know if it's worth the move over?

Work has been busy. There's a nurse out sick, a nurse practitioner out on medical leave and a doctor out on maternity leave. This leaves a lot of patients to be seen by people who are not their regular doctors. Plus a lot of phone calls from patients needing stuff. For some stupid reason, I have decided I'm the one to take care of all the phone calls for these people. So yeah, my load has gotten exponentially higher lately.

It was one of these phone calls I was doing yesterday that I realized the dude had been put on the wrong doctor's schedule. His doctor was in fact not out. I talked to that doctor asking him what he wanted and he wanted the patient put on a day when he was there and not have this patient see a third random person who doesn't know him or his cancer.

Sounds perfectly logical right?

So I put all this down in a message asking the clerk to setup the appointment and his chemo on the day the doctor said to. Next thing I know, I get a message back that the appointment had been put on the day the doctor isn't here and not the day he asked for. I'm like WTF people. It was a simple request.

I called that doctor's nurse saying to her, you must not have read my note, but the doctor doesn't want this patient on a day he isn't here. Her reply? Well you take care of it.

Oh I went off big time. Next thing I know, she's telling people how I went off on her, but leaving out the part of her not doing as the doctor had asked and not telling that she had told me to take care of her patient! This is yet another nurse who does little to no work, so I wasn't surprised.

I was recently sent a post on Facebook and it read, "I don't refer to you as my coworker, as you never do any work." Absolutely perfect for my workplace! Thank you Jenna!
