CJ Liu interviews Joseph Cardillo, Md an expert training on his book “The 12 Rules of Attention: How to Avoid Screw-Ups, Free Up Headspace, Do More and Be More at Work”.

Part 1: What’s the Difference Between Attention, Mindfulness, and Awareness?

Attention is often misunderstand an in common vernacular is conflated with awareness, and mindfulness. The passage below pulled from Dr. Cardillo’s book explains the difference

Mindfulness: Mindfulness can be understood as largely relating to energy. In this way, mindfulness itself is nonreactive to whatever you’re observing. Think about this: mindfulness is not just about being present. Rather, mindfulness is about increasing the energy (currency) of your presence. For example, when you give sound more presence, you are making it crisper and sharper, of higher definition. The energy of mindfulness does that for your experiences. Think of increasing the brightness on your cell phone flashlight by sliding the brightness bar upward to a stronger setting. Similarly, increasing your presence by boosting its energy (mindfulness) will sharpen your focus. When your focus feels too mellow, use your mindfulness mechanism to boost it.

Attention: Psychologists define attention as what (data) you are putting in your working memory (fast, short-term memory bank) to activate procedures to achieve imminent goals. Although there are several different elements in our attention’s chain of command, here we are referring primarily to selective attention. Your brain’s attentional system is an electrochemical mechanism. It operates like an ultra sophisticated fetching system, targeting a piece of information, bringing it into your working memory, and connecting it to other information you have stored there to create processes to accomplish tasks. Your mechanism for selective attention gives you say in which details to regard and which to ignore.

Awareness: Awareness is a consciousness that extends beyond the periphery of your attentional spotlight, and you have it at your disposal. Often, however, you simply aren’t aware that you are aware. In attention training, our job is to discover more ways to use this machine to our advantage. When driving, you can be aware, for instance, of a hairpin turn coming up in two miles and yet focus your attention on navigating through traffic directly ahead. As you drive, details become available to you that the turn is imminent. Your brain’s awareness mechanism almost instantly calibrates your attention to focus on the turn. Expectation, predictability, and surprise are all influenced by your awareness. Because you are aware of certain details, you may be surprised if something different from what your expectations are set for occurs. You are less surprised (or maybe not at all surprised) if you are able to accurately predict from the details. Your ability to attend advantageously toward goals is also affected by these variables. Later in this chapter you will see why and how you can use this predisposition throughout the day to more effortlessly hit your goals and keep your good vibes flowing.

Dr. Cardillo explains that 96% of the time are brain is on autopilot and we mindless execute actions. CJ provides a recent example of her unconscious behavior.

What’s the Difference Between Attention, Mindfulness, and Awareness? : YouTube Video

Part 2: How to Rewire your Brain to Optimize Productivity

Dr. Cardillo explains how you can use awareness to be conscious of the thoughts, actions, and mood that your memory will fetch.

Once you identify your current default “robotic state”, then you can build a mental visualization of what you’d like to do instead. This would be identifying your current behavior and then the new behavior and creating new circuitry, which happens through cementing in the new behaviors, thoughts, and emotions. Realistically, it’s impossible to get it right the first time. However, after each incident we can refine and retain our wiring by increasing the energy (mindfulness) we apply both in analyzing past events as well as reacting during the actual event.

Another aspect of retraining your brain is to recognize how our brain is programmed to create shortcuts and less aware of our day-to-day reality. In part 3, Dr. Cardillo shares several ways your brain go into auto pilot.

How to Rewire your Brain to Optimize Productivity: YouTube Video

Part 3: What are Brain Shortcuts?

Even when we try to rewire our brain we are working against blindness created by our brain’s desire to create shortcuts. The passage below pulled from Dr. Cardillo’s book explains the multitude of ways our brain loses the forest from the trees:

Change blindness can affect our gut feelings, which can slant our attention. For example, we tend to dismiss information that we may see as against our “tribe” or our beliefs. Hence we reject
corporate, political, cultural, departmental, and regional information that we feel cuts against theories or ways of thinking that are important to us. Yet this can actually prevent us from making good choices. Whenever you are tempted to dismiss an offer automatically, you should consider these potentially harmful tendencies and ask yourself, “What am I dismissing here? And why?” This approach can often get you on track.

In-attentional blindness, just because information enters your field of vision doesn’t mean that you’ve “seen” it. You need to focus on it. In fact, as we have been saying, our brains are taking in a massive amount of information as we approach any task, and we can only pay attention to a very small amount of it. Some of the left-out information can turn out to be important to our decisions, and so we err.

The miser brain describes your brain’s tendency to want to be a cognitive miser, to problem-solve quickly, relying on shortcuts to use the least mental effort and bypassing your thinking process. So for a multitude of reasons—including times when you are feeling low energy, don’t want to think too much, or don’t want to rattle your emotions or another person’s emotions—your decisions are apt to take the quickest, easiest trail. This comes at a cost. For one, fast-tracked decisions calculated by your brain’s miser mode can also cause you to miss relevant information, focus.

Priming is an unconscious connection to external stimuli (words, images, sounds, and so on), memory, and experiences. It occurs when exposure to certain details activates your responses due to your prior experiences. Priming works on you just like a remote control and it happens under your radar.

Part 4: What’s the Difference Between Broad and Narrow Awareness?

Dr. Joseph Cardillo explains that one of the ways we can train our brain to pick up more information is to build the capacity of our brain to shift from narrow to broad.

He explains that we shift our focus from broad to narrow and back again constantly throughout the day. Think of it as adjusting a camera lens back and forth. You can peer at an entire baseball team positioned across the field, or you can tighten up and choose to zero in on just one player. You utilize the function whenever you scroll on your word processing screen to locate a specific print font and size, select it and then check out how it looks in your document.

Knowing when to concentrate or open your focus effectively isn’t a question of putting this function to work more often. Rather, it’s about consciously shifting when it will make a difference.
One of primary ways to hold both a narrow and broad view is to create a balanced state of energy. Dr. Cardillo shares one of his favorite tips is to use music to either pump you up or calm you down so that your energy can be balanced.

In the last segment, Dr. Joseph Cardillo talks about bias, which is another way in which our brain can limit our awareness.

Part 5: Confirmation Bias and Your Brain

Dr. Joseph Cardillo explains that the different ways that are brain interjects bias in our thinking.

*Halo effect* You may see, for example, one attractive quality in an individual, and then that triggers you to look for others.

*Bandwagon Effect* At times we find ourselves jumping on board when and where most people in our peer group or our culture—workplace and otherwise—seem to be opining on a certain issue.

*Confirmation Bias* Known as confirmation bias, this tendency makes certain individuals become overly defensive when they are made aware of a potential risk in the way their actions are being conceived and conducted.

*Optimism bias* has us thinking we are less likely to experience a negative event or outcome to what we do. The phrase “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade” captures the more general meaning of optimism bias as a sort of positive thinking.

CJ Liu interviews Don Miguel Ruiz Jr. on his book “The Seven Secrets to Healthy, Happy Relationships.”

Part 1: How to Practice Present Moment Awareness

Miguel shares how his life has changed during COVID-19 and how his deep presence to “what is” shaped his experience and his ability to shift and adopt. Miguel uses the example of a chess player that maps out all the moves before he makes a move, and how COVID has caused us to shift out of expected outcomes. We have been forced to be in synchronicity to what is happening around us. Miguel had to miss running a half-marathon he had trained for months for.

On the family front, Miguel had to focus on fathering two teenagers including an autistic son, as well as his Dad that was immune compromised. Like many, Miguel had many losses. He lost three uncles and his community of friends lost businesses and jobs. Miguel shared how he’s navigated his path during these times and questions he focused on during these challenging times.
1) What are my priorities? What is the most important thing to me? What is my main purpose?
2) What can I control?
3) How do I shift and adapt? What must I let go of in order to move forward?

How to Practice Present Moment Awareness: YouTube Video

Part 2: Will Four Agreements Free or Limit You From Love?

When Miguel doesn’t live in alignment with these agreements does he beat himself up and make these four agreements be conditions for loving himself? Or does he unconditionally love himself regardless of what other’s/he expects of him?

The current world has become full of division and culture wars. During these times, we can get lost in what Miguel refers to as our own domestication. Domestication is the desire that we love ourselves and others when they meet our expectations, and punish others when they don’t. He offers the following introspection to determine if you are creating for yourself or others conditions for love:

I’m right and you are wrong

I stand in judgment of you (name calling)

I am better than you (hierarchical)

I/They have to do x (vs. wanting to do).

When you contrast yourself to the other, then it may call from some healing work to move from placing yourself separate from to accepting others as they are and allowing yourself/them to be free as you/they are.

Michael steps CJ through a healing process of gaining awareness of her attachments and the following steps:

Become aware of how you confuse “who you are” with “what you know”

Gain awareness of how your attachments have created your reality

Stop creating your identity based on the opinions and judgments of others around you

Let go of the fear of what you are without your beliefs

Make new Agreements that are more in line with your true Authentic Self

Forgive yourself for decisions you made that harm you or others.

More on Don Miguel Ruiz Jr.

At the age of 14, don Miguel Jr. apprenticed to his father don Miguel Sr. and his grandmother, Madre Sarita. From that early age, he was called upon to translate Madre Sarita’s prayers, lectures and workshops from Spanish into English. In this way, through constant repetition and review, he learned the content of her teachings in both languages. Through interpreting for Madre Sarita, don Miguel Jr. came to understand the power of faith. He saw first-hand how she manifested her intent to heal people, both physically and spiritually. don Miguel Jr.’s apprenticeship lasted 10 years. When he reached his mid-20’s, his father intensified his training. At the apex of this power journey don Miguel said to his eldest son, “Find your way out. Go home and master Death by becoming alive.”

For the past 13 years, don Miguel Jr. has applied the lessons learned from his father and grandmother to define and enjoy his own personal freedom while achieving peace with all of creation. Today, he is married and has two young children. As a Nagual, he continues to pass along the wisdom and the tools of his family’s traditions in helping others to achieve their own personal freedom and optimal physical and spiritual health in his lectures and workshops. Miguel Jr. has taken the lessons of his father and grandmother, and discovered his own personal path to freedom. Being able to apply his teachings to the world around him gave Miguel Jr. a new understanding of the lessons his father and grandmother had passed onto him, once again giving him the desire to pass on this awareness through his books.

He is the author of the books: “The Five Levels of Attachment”, “Living a Life of Awareness”, “The Mastery of Self”, and “The Don Miguel Ruiz’s Little Book of Wisdom”. He also co-authored the book, “The Seven Secrets to Healthy, Happy Relationships” with his dear friend, HeatherAsh Amara. He now helps others discover optimal physical and spiritual health through his books, so that they may achieve their own personal freedom.

CJ Liu interviews Elizabeth Lesser on her book “Cassandra Speaks: When Women are the Storytellers, the Human Story Changes.”

Part 1: What are the Purpose and Design of Women?

Elizabeth shares why the purpose of who we are as women, the roles we serve, and why we exist have been told through stories, such as the story of Adam and Eve. In this story Eve is considered secondary (a helpmate) to Adam and her role is as a sinner who eats from the tree of knowledge. As a sinner, she should be punished. These early themes may help to explain why women find it so hard to know themselves, find their freedom, speak their truth and follow our desires. Imposter syndrome and self-doubt about who we are and what we can do often get in the way of us ever moving past our secondary position behind man.

Even when women do speak up they are trapped in between playing the damsel in distress or the too strong bitchy woman. Part 2 explores how women can exert power in these situations.

What are the Purpose and Design of Women?: YouTube Video

Part 2: Leadership: Purpose and Power of Women

We continue from Part 1 where Elizabeth explains that woman need to overcome imposter syndrome and exert our power. In Part 2, we discuss how most people interpret power traditionally defined by Sun Tzu in the the Art of War or Niccolò Machiavelli in the Prince.

These books convey the traditional patriarchal power found is most organizations. Power is about subjugation, punishing, or annihilating to win. Instead of these corrupted versions of power, Elizabeth offers that power is more a natural force, and it’s something we all want. It is the energy, the freedom, the authority to be who we are, to contribute, to create.

Elizabeth shares her initial shame associated with wanting power earlier in her career. Now, she advocates for woman to own their problem. And to develop a more feminine approach to power. She cautions that this is not about being “nice”, but to do what we need to do to get the job done.

At the end of the interview, Elizabeth shares a meditation that she calls “Do no Harm, But take no Shit” as a way to both set boundaries, discernment, self-respect, but also offer empathy and compassion.

Part 3: Handling Conflict at Work

We continue from Part 2’s discussion of defining power in the workplace. In part 3, CJ asks what the correct use of power looks like for women in leadership. Elizabeth suggests that this is something we don’t do perfectly out the gate. It’s something we learn through interactions with other. She demonstrates what she would say to someone who wasn’t performing. It’s about listening to others, owning your authority/power, creating a safe environment, being empathetic, and offering your help. “You haven’t been showing up on time. I know you can do better. What can I do to help? What do you need?”

While it may be tempting to do a role reversal once we achieve power and to use these traditional roles, Elizabeth explains that when we are zealots for this abusive power that things go south very fast.

Elizabeth suggests that we must look at our shadows and our dreams. The shadows are related to our emotional intelligence. Elizabeth offers the power of a woman being vulnerability and asking for help. She suggests simple questions such as “I don’t know the answer. Can you help me figure this out?”

Part 4: Women: Don’t Forget your Big Dreams

We continue from part 3 where we talked about using generative and collaborative discussions at work as a way to exert the best use of our authority and power. We conclude our series by discussing why women’s dreams are often considered second rate.

Women’s dreams are generally focused on helping others we consider the most vulnerable in our community. In Elizabeth’s case, she dreams of getting universal Pre-K childcare and parental leave for both parents. These dreams are often are dismissed as second-rate, soft, or emotionally overwrought.

Elizabeth offers as examples of how we are trained early on to find meaning through a more male lens. History classes include tests on the dates of war and generals’ names. These tests relate to what we value. A women’s version of history may be a more holistic look at history such as the human relationships, and food of a certain time period. A women’s lens is more about what we create and how we relate to others. It’s about the world we create together versus the conquests we make toward progress of conquering over others. As such, we need to cautiously evaluate our own dreams under a broader lens vs. dismissing them.

CJ Liu interviews Hilary Barrett about her book, “I Ching: Walking your Path, Creating Your Future”.

Part 1: How Does I-Ching Work?

Hilary shares the history of the I-Ching and how her relationship with the I-Ching started. While there are many ways to access the I-Ching (online, coins, beads, yarrow stick) and various divination tools available to us (Tarot, Ruins, etc), Hilary explains that the 3000 year old history, the many available interpretations, and the many people consulting the I-Ching done every day make the I-Ching a divination tool with collective resonance not normally found in other tools.

How Does I-Ching Work?: YouTube Video

Part 2: Reading I-Ching Coins

While there are many ways to access the I-Ching (online, coins, beads, yarrow stick) and various divination tools available to us (Tarot, Ruins, etc), Hilary explains that the 3000 year old history (see Part 1 for introduction of I-Ching), the many available interpretations, and the many people consulting the I-Ching done every day make the I-Ching a divination tool with collective resonance not normally found in other tools.

Step 1: Question
Each reading starts with a question. Excerpts from Hilary’s online book share examples of the types of things you may use the I-Chng for in making decisions, solving problems, gaining understanding, or realizing intentions. Hilary humorously shares that you can ask the I-Ching anything from the simple (e.g.- should I buy this software that’s on sale) to the deep (e.g.- what do I need to know about my soul’s mission).

Decisions (‘What if I take this job?’ ‘What if I don’t?’)
Solving problems (‘How to handle this?’ ‘How can I help?’)
Understanding (‘Why do I react that way?’)
Realising intentions (‘How can I…?’)

If you want to ask something more open ended, Hilary offers these questions to start your inquiry
What do I need to understand about…?
What best to do about…?
How can I…?
What if I…?

The next piece is using your divination tools (coins, sticks, beads) and pulling out sequences ranging from 6-8

Step 2: Consult your Divination Tool (if coins)

CREATE THE HEXAGRAM: https://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/learn/beginners/3-how-to-cast-a-reading/casting-a-hexagram-with-3-coins/

Each hexagram is made up of 6 lines (either a broken yin line of a solid yang line)
Your first toss goes on the bottom of the 6 lines and each coin toss adds a line above it with a numerical value. If the value is a 6 or 9, it means that you will have 2 hexagrams (vs. 1). You can use the table below to determine if you have a 6-9 for each of the 6 lines and a solid/broken likne

3 heads is a 9 and a changing line from yang to yin
2 head| 1 tail is a 8 yin (broken line)
1 head|2 Tails is a 7 yang line (solid line)
3 tails is a 6 and a changing line from yin to yang

FIND HEXAGRAM ON TABLE (https://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/learn/beginners/3-how-to-cast-a-reading/look-up-your-answer/)
Once you get 6 lines and the 1-2 HEXAGRAMS look at the rows (lower) trigram for your first hexagram and the vertical columns for your second hexagram.

Here was CJ’s reading from the YouTube show:
Line 1 8| Line 2 8| Line 3 7 -15 hexagram
Line 4 8| Line 5 6| Line 6 6 – 53 hexagram
(15.5.6 – 6 old yin becomes young yang and 9 old yang becomes young yin changing line)

Part 3: How to Interpret I-Ching Hexagrams

We continue from learning about the I-Ching and how to use it (Part 1) to doing a reading (Part 2) and now how to interpret the I-Ching reading we just did. During the interview Hilary explains how she would interpret the reading from Part 2.

Question: What additional things do I need to know about my soul’s mission (work)?
Hexagram 1: 15.5.6 (Integrity with changing lines 5 and 6) and Hexagram 2: 53 (Gradual progress).

Hilary steps us through the format she uses in her book:

Key questions: If you were conversing with the I-Ching these may be the questions it would ask.

Oracle: There is a one sentence italics which is the Chinese translation into English. What follows is advice she has given to her clients over a decades worth of reading the I-Ching for clients.

Image: This is an image that uses nature as a guide. For example, a mountain under earth… what would that mean?

Sequence: The hexagram proceeding often offers a context with where you are within a transition. It is what is happening before you arrive at this Hexagram.

Pair: This is the antonym or opposite of this energy.

Lines: Hilary explains that this is the crux of the reading and gives insight into the situation.

She walks us through the 2nd hexagram and then at the relationship between these 2 hexagrams.

CJ Liu interviews Tracee Dunblazier about her book “Conquer Your Karmic Relationships: Heal Spiritual Trauma to Open Your Heart and Restore Your Soul”.

Part 1: Do We Control our Life? Karma vs. Destiny

Tracee defines Karma as patterns that are created throughout our many incarnations. This Karma shapes the patterns of behavior, which in turn create a lens of how we perceive the world and in turn, what we attract towards us. Our karma helps us get clearer on our destiny, things we are here to learn and how we relate to others. For example, if we had a lens of freedom from societal norms defining our gender roles, this would affect how we relate to sexuality, creativity, spirituality and divinity.

Tracee and CJ talk about the societal shifts that are giving us an opportunity to open our hearts and heal our karmic wounds. In the interview, we talk about wearing a mask and how there may be 2 different reactions. How we relate to this issue of wearing a mask may have more to do with our karma, then anything. Tracee explains that mask wearing is a small thing that likely relates to a deeper truth (freedom, abiding to law) and our reaction to it may have less to do with “a mask” and more to do with something deeper.

For example, if we had many lives being enslaved by some governing “authority” and we did nothing to protest (e.g.- Holocaust), then we are likely to be triggered to ACT from this place. Similarly, if we had constantly followed authority focusing on “others” then we may feel angry when people don’t wear a mask. The trigger (wearing a mask) can lead us to open hearts and heal our spiritual trauma if we use this challenging time as a way to lean into finding these unhealed parts of our soul.

Part 2: How to Figure Out If Someone Is Your Soulmate vs Twin Flame vs True Love

Tracee describes soulmates. Soulmates are those that we have known in previous life times or in this lifetime feel an energetic alignment at a deep level. She explains that there can be some that have a deep cultural soulmate (e.g.- Pope Francis) that leave a lasting legacy for all people.

Tracee describes Twin Flames and people who come together and are connected in some way. Some people feel that they are two parts, and that when brought together they feel a sense of “wholeness”. Tracee adds that these are two people who may or may not stay together. They are two people who have unfinished business and that they are here to learn from each other.

As such, a twin flame may not even be a romantic partnership or true love. For example, let’s say you have had many lives where you are a victim of abuse. In this life, you marry someone who is an abuser. This may be a twin flame. Each of you has a powerful intent. For the victim, it may be for you to learn why you don’t own your power. For the abuser, it may be that you continue to control another as a way to avoid your pain. Both have a positive intent for being in the relationship. Whether either person learns and confronts the pain is the opportunity that we have for changing this pattern.

CJ Liu interviews NEALE DONALD WALSCH on his newest book “The God Solution: The Power of Pure Love”.

The God Solution

Neale describes that during COVID-19, many were asking questions such as: Where is God in all of this? What is the point of having a God if everything falls apart? Why isn’t God stopping war, disease, and starvation from happening?” These questions led Neale to contemplate why while 80% of the population believes in a higher power, in over 4,300 religions we had no common definition of God.

The most common definitions are about God being a bearded white man in the sky that can judge, condemn, punish, and where a hierarchy exists. Neale defines God as PURE LOVE. It’s a love that is offered freely and not conditioned upon us doing anything, commands nothing, or expects anything from us. It’s a power that each of us has within us. He describes us as individual expressions of God, similar to waves in the ocean. Each of us has the power to produce outcomes that would allow us to experience heaven on earth.

Five Steps

In the book, Neale offers 5 steps to substitute our everyday suffering and experience it through the energy of PURE LOVE. Neale offers how we could take a common experience, such as alienation, and transmute how we relate and act if we were operating from Pure Love.

Presume that a Higher Power exists.

Describe the Higher Power as an energy that can be physically felt.

Decide to call that feeling Pure Love.

Make an important switch. Replace thought with emotion as the item in your spiritual/metaphysical toolbox to which you’ll now pay the most attention, and of which you’ll make the most use.

Decide to put into action the specific feeling that God is defined as. Not just by creating and experiencing the emotion with which you respond to any given moment, but also by honing your ability to create future moments through the use of Pure Love as a tool of manifestation.

More on Neale Donald Walsch

Neale Donald Walsch is a modern day spiritual messenger whose words continue to touch the world in profound ways. With an early interest in religion and a deeply felt connection to spirituality, Neale spent the majority of his life thriving professionally, yet searching for spiritual meaning before experiencing his now famous conversation with God. The Conversations with God series of books that emerged from those encounters has been translated into 37 languages, touching millions and inspiring important changes in their day-to-day lives.

CJ Liu interviews Michael Schauch about his book “A STORY of KARMA”.

Since he was 17 years old, Michael had always had a dream to go to the Himalayas. As an avid climber, he saw a photo in 2011 in a remote valley of northern Nepal that had been closed to outsiders for decades. He was driven to climb it. After months of preparation and planning, Mike gathered a trusted team to document a community rarely touched by modern civilization. After being trapped in by storms and days of navigating treacherous and difficult terrain, he had no choice but to turn back.

His dream to climb the mountain that had haunted him for years now squashed, Mike took a different path—literally and figuratively. He realized soon enough that his relentless quest to climb the mysterious mountain was meant to lead him to something much more important. The true meaning of his journey was to meet a 7 year-old girl named Karma. In the interview, Michael shares the incredible stories of reaching this ancient community barely touched by modern man and how both his life and his adopted daughter’s lives were forever changed.

CJ Liu interviews Guy Finley on his free talk, “7 Simple Practices to Realizing Your Highest Spiritual Possibilities”.

How To Be More Patient with Yourself

As we are feeling impatient with the state of the world and a sense of being restricted, how can we be patient with ourselves and others when feeling imprisoned by the world around us? When we are thinking about the past (whole year of COVID), we are not in the NOW and are blaming something else (e.g.- others, pandemic, etc) for our pain. Guy explains how we use these seven practices to bring about our highest spiritual possibilities.

During the interview, CJ reveals that she identifies with action and moving forward to make things happen and yet is getting guidance to be patient. Guy suggests that CJ’s drive to action is just a familiar way of being and an illusion. This “self,” which identifies with “doing,” is a reifying “CJ” as a separate self (vs. part of a whole).

The work is in recognizing this revelation about ourselves (e.g.- our impatience), the human imperfection of wanting things to be different, and the pain that results. Guy explains that patience is about “suffering yourself”. Instead of resisting, consoling, or otherwise explaining the pain away, we just sit with what is unfolding within us. Often we judge ourselves when we have failed to meet our expectations of being good, helpful, and being of service. However, when we try to run away from the pain versus awaken and be conscious of the pain of “not doing”, then we miss the hidden depths of our latent spiritual strength.

Guy uses the example of any “movement” and that often these movements “FOR” or “AGAINST” are just swings on the pendulum. Any time we act from this place from a place of powerlessness, the weakness of these approaches of “acting” is that we create an opposite and equal reaction from the flow of life. None of these movements ever create lasting change, but are just swings that go back and forth.

Instead of charging impatiently and reacting out of a sense of knowing what is right, it’s about resting into the part of us that is already there. The quiet awareness of our higher selves. In CJ’s case, it would be being conscious and aware of that “swing” towards action and “CJ’s typical self” and being awake to the pain it causes. When we are truly conscious then we can see the polarity of our response, the pain that it causes, and step into the truth of true higher Selves and act (or don’t act) from that place. This is the place of flow, not the imagined spiritual delusions about flow– when we act from flow we will have endless happiness, but flow of life and being truly part of it through allowing it to respond within and through us.

CJ Liu interviews Linda Howe on her newest book “INSPIRED MANIFESTING: Elevate Your Energy & Ignite Your Dreams Through the Akashic Records”.

Part 1: Akashic Records – How do I Find My Purpose on Earth?

Linda shares how the last six years has been devoted to developing this new book to help people find their purpose on earth and deliver their treasures. She explains that our dreams contain our soul’s purpose. Often, we have old ideas that condition us into thinking that it’s not time to manifest our soul’s desires. Whether this conditioning came from our parents, society, or our spouse, the time is NOW to solve the world’s problems.

Each soul has a unique offering to share with the world. Despite our religious conditioning, it’s not through martyrdom that we achieve our soul’s purpose. And it’s not about waiting another day to move forward until we’ve raised more money, learned more, or become more awakened. Instead, it’s about giving to what sustains and nurtures us on a daily basis. When we nurture and sustain ourselves, we are coming to balance with our soul’s path. While it’s true that the spiritual world is infinite and that we are immortals, we have the opportunity of this human life that is finite. It’s time for us to act now.

Part 2: Akashic Records – Am I Living My Purpose?

How do we know if we are living according to our Highest purpose? Linda shares that the soul’s purpose is to be aware of its divine nature, which is about love. She explains that we all have a unified purpose of humanity, and an individual purpose.
Our unified soul’s purpose is to grow into experiencing unconditional love for ourselves, others, and society. The way we discover our individual purpose within the collective is to engage in activities that unleash the unlimited love that resides within each of us. We have a dream inside of us. Each day we can ask ourselves, “What one small action can I take today that will nurture and sustain me?” By asking and then acting in this way, we make progress that is based on what is present for us on that day. This allows us to experiment and explore and find our soul’s purpose day-by-day.

While we may have a sense of our purpose, we are often not 100% sure. Linda suggests we go to the Akashic records. Once we enter the Akashic records (see https://www.fireitupwithcj.com/129-akasha-read-akashic-records-linda-howe/) we can ask the questions and from the light of truth, you will get answers from the records?

· What am I supposed to do? (is it x?)

· Does this give me energy or deplete me?

· Am I doing this out of feeling sorry, guilty, or because it’s familiar?

Part 3: Manifesting Your Soul’s Purpose Through Akashic Records

Collectively we have the mission to work together. Individually, however, we have the responsibility of having action that is inspired by heart, mind, and will.

During the interview, Linda shares the triangle test pulled from the Akashic records. The test helps you ensure that you are individually moving toward inspired manifesting day-by-day. Plus, Linda shares what the Akashic records say about the pandemic. The main takeaway is that we should view this as an opportunity to learn how to work together and to not take it personally.

What is Oneness? // Part 1 of 3

CJ Liu interviews NY Times Best selling authors, Eben Alexander, MD and Karen Newell about their book “Living in a Mindful Universe“. Eben shares the scientific research and the in-depth report on the neocortex exploring his near death experience (NDE) that led him to finding other ways (aside from dying) to replicate the transcendental experience he felt. He describes this as an experience of oneness, which felt sacred and that we are “one mind”. Karen shares the beautiful story with how they met, and how Eben described his experience of love to be too powerful to be felt on the earthly plane.

Experience Heaven Through Sound Healing // Part 2 of 3

Eben shares the scientific research on “oneness” and the sense of oneness when he experienced his near death experience (NDE). Karen explains the connection of oneness to the heart and how it is one heart, one mind. Eben and Karen share how brainwaves work in stimulating sounds in the right and left ears, which create a “wavering sound” or wobble. Karen reveals this wobbling sound is the same sound found in Tibetan healing bowls.

Do We Have Free Will or Is Everything Predetermined? // Part 3 of 3

In segment three, Eben and Karen discuss free will. Do we have it? Eben explains that when we are acting out of ego that we are not operating out of free will. However, Eben shares that when we are in “oneness” that we are not in ego. He explains that oneness goes way beyond ego. When someone is in this state it has similarity to a placebo effect. This oneness helps explains healing miracles. For example, people have had near-death experiences (NDE) where they started out with cancer or had been in water for 30 minutes, yet come back fully healed. He explains that this oneness heals all. Our higher minds are guiding us all the time. Karen re-frames our way of thinking about being in oneness as our sacred responsibility.

More on Eben Alexander, MD and Karen Newell

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr. Alexander received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in 1980. He taught neurosurgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston for fifteen years, and has performed over 4,000 neurosurgical operations. During his academic career he authored or co-authored over 150 chapters and papers in peer reviewed journals, authored or edited five books on radiosurgery and neurosurgery, and made over 230 presentations at conferences and medical centers around the world.
