Review: To Catch a Rake

To Catch a Rake by Sally Orr
My rating: 0 of 5 stars

I liked its beginning and Meta, along with her interaction with Mr. Drexel. Yet by the time 25% came around and Meta met with her friends, the society ladies, I had just grown bored with it. Sorry.

Review: Coming Home to Love

noreply@blogger.com (Jess - From Jess to You Services) — Sun, 18 Oct 2026 23:48:37 -0400

Coming Home to Love by Katie O'Boyle
My rating: 0 of 5 stars

DNF. This novel has a lot of potential and deals with a lot of heavy-hitting situations (from celiac disease to alcoholism and more) that should keep readers who like mystery romances engaged. The main reason I stopped reading this novel at 50% was that the romance between Justin & Gianessa moved so slowly that to couldn't fully root for them, and by the halfway mark I was getting bored.

I wish you luck with reading it, and even though I wasn't a huge fan, I still recommend it.

DNF -- skimmed to the end to see what happens. I liked the premise and the plot, and yet I grew very bored with it.

If you read it, I hope you'll enjoy it more than I did.

3 out of 5 stars! I liked this novel, but I didn't enjoy all of it either. I enjoyed the characters, but I wasn't a fan of their plotline. Watch/hear my FULL VLOG book review here: https://youtu.be/pgRAfpe5wpk

Review: Buck, Naked

noreply@blogger.com (Jess - From Jess to You Services) — Sun, 27 Sep 2026 19:44:21 -0400

Buck, Naked by Teresa Noelle Roberts
My rating: 0 of 5 stars

DNF. While I loved book 2 in this series, "Buck, Naked" just didn't seem to hook me. And while I stuck with it for a while because of how I was into the characters themselves, I was never completely enraptured with it. Therefore, when I put it down to get back to "life stuff," I didn't feel inclined to finish the novel, which is why I stopped at 70% of the way through.

Nevertheless, I HIGHLY recommend this novel AND series to those looking for a uniquely written science fiction erotic romance that has a whole lot of epic fantasy thrown in.

Review: Her Mistletoe Cowboy

Her Mistletoe Cowboy by Alissa Callen
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

DNF. Even with its sweet potential, this novel was very slow-moving. Slow enough that by 64% I couldn't push myself through it anymore and decided to stop reading.

I liked the idea of Ivy & Rhett together. Therefore, those who like contemporary holiday romances might be fans, but I just wasn't one of them.

DNF ... GAH!! I tried with this one. I really did. But even though I liked the premise, it was because this was the first novel in the series that I had read that made it so I couldn't follow it completely. In addition, I grew bored with some of the scenes. Basically, I gave up fully reading it around the 50% mark ... then skimmed it until I got to 75% before giving it up altogether.

Sorry! On a side note ... It did have some cute sayings to use as quotes.

Review: How to Beguile a Duke

How to Beguile a Duke by Ally Broadfield
My rating: 0 of 5 stars

DNF. I wish I could have tried harder to like the heroine and read more of this novel but Catherine kept getting on my nerves so I gave up on her. If I finished this novel I might not have rated it 1 out of 5 stars but I agree with what Ms. Farrah wrote in her review.

If you try reading this novel, good luck to you and I hope you like it/stick with it more then I did.
