For regular working days, if you are on a rush and need Vietnam visa within a few hours, you always can require urgent Vietnam visa with extra cost for only $20 USD as below schedule
– If you submit your application before 8:00 am, you will get your visa approval letter around noon time

Visa cost outside of working hours

It’s more expensive to obtain a visa approval letter outside of working hours. If it’s on a weekday, you must pay around $100 USD for 1-month single entry visa. On weekend, you can request for 3-month visa with the service charge 180 USD/pax. The visa fee may vary with different nationalities and different periods of time. What if I am already at the airport without a visa?

It could be quite risky to get to the airport without a visa. If you are at the departure airport, the airline’s staff will normally ask for your visa approval letter before allowing you to get on board since they want to make sure you will not be expelled and sent back to the departure airport later.

At this stage, we still have a solution to help you get on board and by the time you reach Vietnam’s international airport, your visa approval letter is ready to use. No print out is needed in advance because you can show the visa letter on your mobile screen to the immigration officers.

Overstaying your Vietnam visa intentionally might lead to serious consequences; the worst scenario for repetitive mistakes is you will be on the blacklist of the Immigration Department and banned to return Vietnam for next visits.

Things to do when you overstay your Vietnam visa

• If you only prolong your stay for less than 3 days, you can pay the fine directly to the immigration officer at Vietnam airport. The penalty may cost up to 2,000,000 VND to acquire an exit visa. This amount may vary without notice and you are not expected to get a receipt in return. Also, you are required to sign a document by the immigration officer before leaving.
• In case you overstay your Vietnam visa from 3 days upward, you cannot go to the airport directly but needs to contact a travel agency in advance for helping you with penalty procedures. The agency, on behalf of you, will submit a letter of explanation to the local immigration office and pay the fine. The penalty fee for staying over 15 days can range from 5,000,000 VND – 10,000,000 VND.

Avoid overstaying your Vietnam visa

If you plan on staying longer than your indicated visa date, it’s strongly advised to apply for Vietnam visa extension before your visa comes to expire to avoid any possible penalty and consequences. Otherwise, it’s important to take note and set an alarm on the expiry date of your visa.
