Note: This procedure changes the IP address of a computer on a wired or wireless network. If you want to change the IP address of your internet connection, you should contact your service provider, as they're the ones who exert control over this.

To change your network IP address in Windows XP, Vista, or 7:

1. Press the Windows Key and R

2. Type command and press Enter. This loads your DOS prompt

3. Type ipconfig /release then press Enter. This disables your internet connection

4. Go to your desktop, and right-click on something called Network Place or My Network Places (If you're using Windows Vista or 7, look for the Network and Sharing Center through Control Panel)

5. Click Properties. You should now see something called Local Area Connection or something similar

6. Right-click on your connection (titled Local Area Connection if you're using an ethernet cable or Wireless Network Connection if you're on WiFi) and click Properties

7. Under the General tab, double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

8. A new window appears. On its own General tab, click the box beside Use the following IP address

9. Type in ones until you fill the box up (it should read 111.111.111.111)

10. Press Tab. You'll notice the Subnet Mask section automatically fill sup with numbers

11. Click OK

12. Click OK to bring you back to the "Local Area Connection" screen

13. Right-click Local Area Connection and Click on Properties again

14. Again, under the General tab, double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

15. Select Obtain an IP address automatically

16. Click OK

17. Click OK

18. Go back to your DOS prompt, type "ipconfig /renew" and press Enter. This restores your internet connection.

All you need is 20G of free space on your hard drive and you can go ahead and dual boot Windows 8 with Windows 7. Even though your computer hardware doesnot support Windows 8, you can still give it a try as you still be having Windows 7 running on your computer.

Creation Of Partition

If you have your hard disk already partitioned and try to free space of 20G in any of the partitions in which Windows 7 is not installed.

But if you have not partitioned your hard drive, then you must and should create a partition with 20G of free space so that you can install Windows 8 smoothly.

In order to create a new partition, you need to launch the Disk Management snap in. So, just click on the Run button on the Start menu and then enter, diskmgmt.msc in the given field and hit enter.

From the tool, you can see how much free space you have on the partition. If you have 20G of free space, then you are all set to create partition. If not, then spend some time to free some space.

Now from the below panel, right click on the C Drive and click on the Shrink Volume option. It would not ask you enter the number of bytes that you want to shrink, so just enter 20480MB as it just equivalent to 20G. If you need more, you can surely go for more but this is the minimum requirement.

First, create a text ﬁle and give it the name of the shortcut you want on the taskbar, followed by the extension ‘.exe’. You’ll see the icon change from a text ﬁle to that of an executable.
If this doesn’t happen, use the command line interface of DOS to do it.
Right-click on this ﬁle and select the option ‘Pin to Taskbar’.
Now, navigate to the target folder, hold the [Shift] key down, right-click and select ‘Copy as path’ from the context menu.

Come back to the desktop, right-click on the dummy icon, which is already pinned to the taskbar.
From the context menu, scroll to the ﬁle name and right-click again.
From this context menu, select ‘Properties’.
